    Bless this young man and his family . I can't even begin to understand the kind of torment his mother must be feeling all these years . Praying for you all .

    I grew up in Delhaven and my family lived there from the 70’s through the 90’s and all of us who lived there will never forget Mark. Thank you for this video. I’d never seen it before. I just came on here looking for videos about Mark because I just got the new book written by the retired detective who worked on Marks case.

    I am from Ireland and travelled to Cape May on a summer working visa around the time Mark went missing. I remember seeing his face on a milk carton. To this day, I still think of him. Its so terribly sad. His mum seems like such a lovely lady. I hope she gets the answers she so desperately seeks someday.

    My grandparents has a summer spot in Cape May.....I was a bit younger than mark but.....EVERY summer I would come there I would see his picture on the walls of stores, restaurants, and board walks.....my mom used to make me look at it and kind of scare me because it terrified her to think of something like this happening to me or my brother....it always stayed with me....for 30+ years....his mothers pain breaks my heart. I hope God grants his mother peace and love.

    I know my words won't take away the torment, anguish, or pain for his family, who must miss him and wonder where he is every day. I am heartbroken by this, that such a cute, fun and sweet little boy was taken from the love and life he embraced, and put into, what we can only imagine, is a life that terrified him and broke all the moments of love and safety and laughter, he and his family had known. People ... certain ones ... can be so unapologetic ally evil, I can't even begin to understand how ... but if he is alive, we can still find him ... and if he has passed on, his family deserves that closure too.

    I've been slowly working on a video about this case. Mark and I were about the same age. I didn't grow up in Cape may county but the county over however as an adult I ended living a few streets over from where he lived. This is the case I always think of. This is a realitvite safe area, this doesnt happen here.

    The poem at the end sums up the whole of all of life, happy - sad- and always unknown. It's probably not foolish to say this young man is long gone by now, but to those that believe in the afterlife of heaven & hell the person that caused this will not go unknown there. And what excuse under the sun will the guilty person exclaim to God during his judgement~ that would be acceptable? ...Nothing....and then eternity reaping the reward duly deserved for such a cowardly act towards an innocent child.
    That's the only comforting thing .

    The book Where is Mark is a great book by Rich Mchale. I read it in one day. I have been interested in this case since the vanished podcast covered it 2016.1. Is their an another top suspect other than Buttcavage? It seems when researching the case he is the only one mentioned, and I know he is a main suspect for a reason. It seems when researching the case he is the only one mentioned, and I know he is a main suspect for a reason. However, is their anyway their is a suspect who looked like Buttcavge with the long black hair which was a common look in the early 90s. Also how was the girl witnessed talking to Mark involved? New Haven is a very small town and she was from New Haven, was she from Philadelphia? Was she lured by Buttcavage by drugs or was she a kidnap victim as well?

    The more you look at Butcavage, the weaker the case against him looks. If he was renting a shore house or staying with someone, the landlord or associate would have spoken up and said that, yes, Butcavage was in Cape May county at that time. Credit card receipts, social contacts, traffic ticket, SOMETHING would have placed him in Cape May county during that time frame. If he simply drove from Haverford looking for a victim, how did he get Mark Himebaugh back to Haverford? If it was by force, someone would have certainly noticed a struggle as Mark was placed in a van, car, etc. in broad daylight. If it was by ruse, we aren't talking about a 5 year old; Mark was 11 and prone to occasional violent outbursts. A few minutes into the ride, there would likely have been some struggle inside of the vehicle once Mark realized he was being abducted. Possible to get him an hour away; but unlikely. And what child predator is going to return to the scene of a crime while a massive manhunt is underway (or while he is in the process of kidnapping) to plant a sneaker on a beach to throw authorities off? They simply don't think like that, especially if they live an hour away. Philly might as well be on a different planet. Once he left the area, he was gone. So plant a sneaker? Doesn't make sense. Obviously Butcavage was a compulsive child predator with no limits. They found the videos that put him in jail years AFTER they conducted a search warrant on his apartment looking for similar videos. So he couldn't stop himself. My guess is that he lied to his male prostitute buddy about who the kid was in the video just to bolster the sick thrill of showing his dirty work. He claimed to "get rid" of the kids in the videos but have they ever attributed a single murder to him? And did the SP really release the eerily similar sketch AFTER Butcavage was a suspect but never explain why? If so, that makes the case against him even weaker. Not saying Butcavage didn't do it (or that he did); but I am saying that it is not the tight case it appears to be.

      he lived in Havertown, PA at the time, which is right outside of Philly. He was known to hunt for kids in other areas, anywhere from 50 to 100 miles from where he lived. It's only about an hour and a half drive from the Philly area to Del Haven.

      Children that age have been snatched off the street in the past. Sometimes it involves more than one kidnapper. Jaycee Dugard’s case is a perfect example of this. A driver and another person that grabbed her and kept control of her in the backseat.

      Hello, Thanks for reaching out. A bunch of people think this as well about Butcavage, but if you have something you would like to tell us you can reach me directly. We are continuing to interview people to help to get to the bottom of this unsolved case about our family member. Thank you!

      You say “might” not want to be found. Why? He was 11 when he went missing. He had no way to provide for himself at that age without someone’s help. He was happy at his home, there doesn’t seem to be a reason to run away. So why would you say he might not want to be found?

    • @karibou6308
      @karibou6308 3 года назад

      It happens. Look at Steve Stayner, he barely remembered who he was when he was found, and was brainwashed into believing his parents rejected him. If it wasn't that he wanted to save another kid, he might never have come forward.
