Are you talking about the Slogurk ramp deck with Nissa and Aftermath Analyst? If so, save your counterspells for the threats that aren't cleanly answered by your removal and sweepers. Typical lists are quite threat-lite so if you keep up on the card advantage, your 1-for-1's answer too much of their deck. Hopefully, you have at least 1 Jace, the Perfected Mind mainboard so you can go up to +14 cards up on card advantage, then Jace -5 to win the mill race at the end. Cheers and good luck!
