If you like dropping in on other reactors occasionally, Mortius invited Cesar to join him in reacting to this. Cesar contributed a lot to the review including that he had the high line there at the end and that Omar is his best friend. Maybe that means a future for Omar in VoicePlay?
In their earlier days (1974), Aerosmith performed at my college in New York. Dream On was their big hit, and they absolutely killed it. I was functionally deaf for two days afterward but it was worth it. So for Voiceplay to unleash this cover was a fantastic trip down memory lane, and your reaction was spot on as usual! Thank you!
Wow, that concert sounds AMAZING! It’s so funny because the Aerosmith I grew up with was “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” and “Jaded”, it was only later that I discovered their classics like “Dream On”. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😍
Dragonborn was shot at PattyCake Productions studio on January 26, 2022. This video was shot on March 28, 2022. According to Geoff, it follows up the post-apocalyptic survivors from the Warriors video, though it seems Earl and J. None were captured and eaten by the inevitable zombies, with Cesar and Omar finding the group and joining them.
Fabulous once again. I'm sure I know that sound Layne is making in there from somewhere, but can't place it. It's like something out of a creepy film. Maybe giant insects. That kind of sound.
this was filmed at eli’s old high school! im 90% sure this was filmed at different times than dragonborn comes because cesars hair is different? love the reaction you guys are everything together ❤️
Someone else mentioned that Dragonborn was filmed in January and this was in March, so definitely different times. And you’re right, I think it was the hair that gave it away 🤣
They’ve been on a “one every month” schedule for much of the past few years. They haven’t filmed two at the same time since I’ve been following them. And you missed Eli’s beard. 😉
@@cynthiaross9438 They actually released 29 performances in 2021. Ten were minis, but that leaves 19 full length performances. 2020 was only 10 - that was the year Earl left, and the first year of the pandemic. 2019 was 18. 2018 was 14. 2017 was 12, 2016 was 16, 2015 was 6, 2014 was 6, 2013 was 11, 2012 was 3. Geoff mentioned in an interview (I think it was the one w/ Elizabeth - 2021?) that he and Layne were each trying to do one a month.
@@Aurora-cv5to Ah...I don't count the minis. They are bonuses, but not full works, IMO. I knew their orig goal was at least one a month, I suppose I fixated on that.
This was on location at an abandoned school near Orlando in Florida. I would highly doubt this was the same time as the Dragonborne video probably because you have to get everything set up as soon as you get there.
I really enjoy your reactions! You are one of my favorite channels, thanks! I think you both would enjoy Sebastian Yatra and John Legend’s version of “Red High Heels!”
The cut-outs or stops or whatever they’re called-I remember hearing them in Grim Grinning Ghosts-but in that I got more sense that it was done by the singers, very coordinated. Here it seems like the video cuts out, so it’s the editing.
About changes from the original on Patreon. At the very end, the sweep from Omar to Eli is much faster. That's the only other difference that I spotted. I kept looking for the section of the wall that Tony chiseled out, finally found it to the left of Omar in a wide shot. Great reaction guys!!
There was one spot a little earlier than the one you mentioned that they pushed in on the shot a little to cover up a slight flaw that probably wouldn’t have been noticed. But a patron pointed it out and they are perfectionists… They do sing while filming. In fact they sing throughout the day and not always what they are filming. Particularly Cesar and Omar. Now that you’ve reacted, I hope you watch the BTS video. You’ll know what I mean.
We love musicals so it was one of the earlier VoicePlay videos we reacted to! 😍 Here’s the link if you want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/0j0HFckoGUk/видео.html
Maybe the people who have access to the “making of the video” material can chime in here. Do these guys pantomime when they’re making the video, or do they actually sing along with the track? It seems to me it’s the latter because there’s no sense that they’re just mouthing the words. You see them suck in those deep breaths before the long runs, and their mouths naturally fit the words (when people lip sync they tend to overenunciate). But what do I know. Can anyone clarify??? Anyway, it’s fun to watch you two react to their videos. Great job here!!
they do sing along, at about 80% of the volume they would use to record the vocals. it would look very fake to just lip-synch without sound, you would notice immediately.
@@huldradraco Thanks. I was watching another reactor who was really stressing that they’re lip syncing in the videos, and maybe he and I have different definitions of the term. To me lip sync means you’re mouthing the words, and when people do that you can usually tell. I don’t know If you’ve noticed but there are times when the background singers in VP are apparently singing lyrics other than what you’re hearing. (Yeah, I tend to watch these videos a bunch of times and eventually catch those continuity errors and other stuff like this.)
Yes! In in some of their past videos (I forget which) I’d notice that there’d be sounds that nobody seemed to be singing, but now I know that they often layer additional voices to create a fuller sound 😁
How did you guys like the intro to our video? 😅😂
Clever af hahahaha

"The sound gets sucked out of the song". That is the perfect description of that effect. Really cool.
Just describing how it felt, LOL! 🌬
They did that also in their cover of imagine dragons

Someone else mentioned that it explains Cesar’s hair (which is longer here), LOL! Thanks for sharing (especially the zombie story 🤣)
So glad you two reacted today and didn't make me wait, lol.
You’re welcome! Thanks to VoicePlay for releasing it on Patreon early! 😄
Shook. Have listened a dozen times now. Still shook.
Same! Although my “dozen times” happened while editing 🤣
That "sucked out sound" is a dub step.
As always you two do not disappoint. You always point out things that the average listener might not catch. Voiceplay doesn't disappoint either.
Thanks for watching! On the second point, that’s why we never get tired of reacting to them! 🤩

And imitating a bass guitar to perfection is Geoff. :)
Yaaaaas! He actually has some nice lines in this song! 🤩
Omar Cardona is so good, not to discount the others but damn. Great reaction and commentary
Thanks for watching! And I think they should FINALLY have both Cardona brothers in a video! 😂
That intro killed me lol!
Glad that someone appreciates my brand of humour! 🤣
Pentatonix does something very similar to that effect in Daft Punk, if I recall correctly (and that's not always guaranteed these days).
Cesar records his vocals at Eli’s house. Explains the tight harmonies.
Ooh! That makes a lot of sense when they can practise together! 😄
Enjoyed your reaction! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks! Hope you had a great one too! 😍

Another commenter said this was Eli’s old school! That’s pretty awesome (and a bit sad) if true 🥲
amazing work from voiceplay as always ❤️🏴
They walkways knock it out of the park! 🤩

Yay! Thanks for watching! Will check out those videos too! 😍
Eli actually sing a bit of the highest part out loud in the BTS for fun before they started filming, and he sang it in Omar's and Cesar's range 😅
With Eli having a great rock voice it’s awfully gracious that they decided on Omar and Cesar to do the high note 😄
I loved those high notes from Eli, César and Omar! And I would have liked to know what Eli wrote
You’re right! Now I’m wondering too 🤣
The cut-outs or stops or whatever they’re called-I remember hearing them in Grim Grinning Ghosts-but in that I got more sense that it was done by the singers, very coordinated. Here it seems like the video cuts out, so it’s the editing.
They did something sort of like that, but only for an instant in Bang. I only remember because it was so unexpected.
Something like that in It Ain't Me.
Yeah, they’ve been doing it for a while now it seems but they don’t do it all the time so it’s always fun and unexpected when it does happen! 😍

Glad that the changes were minor; sometimes they add VFX shots like in “The Dragonborn Comes”! 🔥

It actually makes sense now that their early access is kind of them crowdsourcing the review process! 🤣
Almost gives me a "Lost Boys"(starring Keifer Sutherland, Cory Haim and Cory Feldman)
I think the "sucking air out of the room" sounds was in Dragonborn.
Thanks! Going to check it out again after this! ❤️
I loved your reaction and analysis. Check out Voiceplay's ACA top 10 Broadway. It's a few years old but a lot of fun.

THE THX INTRO LMAO
Now listen to Postmodern Jukebox and the fantastic Morgan James cover this song!!
Ooh! We used to watch Postmodern Jukebox a lot, will check it out! 🤩
Everything....

How about "a sung stutter" for that "sound sucked out" effect?
“Sung stutter” sounds pretty good! 😄
