I have a beautiful Nativity...my late husband built the barn & I so love it especially. All of the main pieces (Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, and 2 Wise Men came from a discarded set & was given to me. I found the 3rd Wise Men in a dumpster, of all places!! I repainted all of them & then bought a couple of cows, sheep & 2 lambs & a donkey from a shop...they are especially beautiful. I love setting it up before Christmas...I don't put up a tree any longer...haven't for years now, since my husband passed away. I miss seeing the ornaments, as they come from S.Korea & Germany & they are so pretty too, but there isn't a lot of reasons otherwise, to set one up anymore. I used to make so many cookies for Christmas, mainly to give away, but my favorite was a pie crust cookie that I came up with on my own...it's just pie crust, topped with cinnamon & sugar & rolled up & baked. My oldest sister so loves them too & I used to always send her a tin of them.🎄
You should enjoy all the festivities of Christmas & put the vlogging on time-out, unless you really want to show us something. I know your community is always so busy...I don't know how you manage to vlog most times anyway, but you do a beautiful job of sharing your life on your channel here. I so enjoy all of your videos, but I understand too, that during the holidays & some other really busy times, you have so much to do, that you may not have time to share some things. Thank you so much for sharing everything that you do, Giselle...I so appreciate seeing your Hutterite Community.🙏♥
New jacket on i see very smart i love the way you get so excited about simple things i wish there was a lot more of us like you. Not people spending money they can't afford just to buy gifts that children don't need. I was very lucky when my son was younger he was not a greedy child. And he has never changed. Give gorgeous kona a big cuddle from me. Forgot to ask how are your plants coming along.
❤Have a blessed Christmas dear Giselle! Thanks so much for all that you do - sharing your time, talents, family & community!!! Sending love & prayers to you dear sister in Christ! (Thanks also for sharing your Devotional by Paul David Tripp, my sister purchased me one after I told her about yours 😊)
Waiting to see the fun in the snow, Kona was a little better last year not quite as protective of you going full speed downhill! Have a lovely week! ❤❤
This Manger scene, characters and all are the same one my church has, the stable is different, the original one was broken, so many years ago a man in tge church made a new one. It was cool to see your family has the same characters though. As always I love your vlogs thank you for sharing
Giselle, what a surprise to see another vlog. Thank you for taking us on another wonderful walk with Kona. The scenery was stunning. Your Christmas decorations are so beautiful and look amazing. The singing is so uplifting and beautiful. You all have amazing voices. See you next time.
@gilbaum ...you state you live on a Kibbutz...Why aren't you celebrating the start of Hanukkah? How is your Kibbutz helping out in the current crisis?? What brings you to a Christian anabaptist community? Who is Jesus to you and your Kibbutz?
I’m a bit late watching your video. I think most of the States and places that usually have snow, don’t this year. Myself I have no problem with that. I live in Wisconsin where we get zero temps and snow. This year tho we’ve had more 30 temps and no snow. I enjoyed your video. Thank you. Hi Priscilla
In the churches in Germany, they often add the figures over time. First, Mary and Joseph and the angel, then the shepards arrive, then Jesus arrives at midnight on the 24th and the 3 Kings arrive on 6 Jan. The nativity stays up until 2 Feb. which is when Joseph and Mary escape to Egypt. It is quite different. 3 Kings day is a big deal here. Kids get dressed up as one of the kings and they go around singing and raising money for charity. Last year, there were at least 100 of them in our town square in Frankfurt. You will see this in small villages too. Yours is very beautiful. The tiny lights are a lovely touch.
A beautiful vlog again, thank you. We've only put our 2ft tree up, our manger scene, an angel, and a fireplace (4x6") We'll be going to a cousin's son's visitation shortly. Very talented young man, gone too soon. Hearts are broken but many thanks to God for Him being with us and giving us His strength. We're grateful for God sending Him, always and forever. Merry Christmas to you, your family and your colony.
I forgot to say im really glad to see you and kona are nearly hitting forty thousand subscribers and you thought people would not be interested in just you and kona and you're friends. But you have proved them wrong we love watching you and the listening to your beautiful songs. I know it's wrong but i can't wait to you hit forty thousand.
Same for me too, Ruth. I hope Giselle knows how many of us appreciate her hard work and commitment. It's always a pleasure to take time out of my day to watch and enjoy her videos.
Love seeing Kona! Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them because I learn more about your community, and it's so interesting. I always enjoy your videos as I find them relaxing, and the music is beautiful. I have a question: Do you celebrate Advent like other Christians? Does your community have any traditions for preparing for Christmas (besides decorating, shopping, play/choir rehearsal)?
Thanks for sharing your story it’s nice to see how other cultures live and believes have a wonderful Christmas with your family and colony I like lots of snow from southern Ontario 🎄🎄
I have a nativity set like the one in your window. You can put 4 flameless tealights in it. I'm going to make hot chocolate tonight. I have Swiss miss caramel hot chocolate. I love nativities. My mom bought me a mini one a year or two ago.
Hello! The snow is coming to you (if it hasn’t come already)! I was just watching the weather for the weekend 😀 We are going to have wind 😂😑 The northern part of Virginia is getting the snow ☹️ I’m happy to hear you’re going to do more vlogging! Just do as much or as little as you like! We don’t want you to feel burnt out. 🤍🙏🏻✌🏻
When my son was small, we would put our nativity set under our Christmas tree, and I asked him not to throw the ball in the house. Boys, bring boys, didn't listen, and the ball hit baby Jesus and broke his arm by son was so up set that he broke baby Jesus arm he now has been a pastor for 20 years and and he never throw a ball in the house again
Oh i use to have the same steuggle with my nativity scene too. I bought one we cant broke AND all glue so i dont need to ut it back and my kids cant run in the house with Jesus and play Barbie with it😅
Kona is a beautiful dog, how old she, I had a nativity scene when I was a child I would spend hours playing out the story of our lords birth, I miss it actually
I noticed in this video that you have some cold sores, I used to struggle with them until I found this wonderful vitamin called " lysine" it's reasonably priced and has helped me & my sister with those nasty cold sores, may want to get some.
I think you talked before about that metal nativity on the window sill. Do the men in your colony make that, and if so, do they sell them to the general public?
Giselle, I have a question. Does your family have a regular time for reading every day or is it just on Sundays? I checked that Hagee book out of the library based on your appraisal of it. Thank you for this lovely ten minutes of calm and joy!
Hi Giselle, all good now, are you ? I have a question for you, what was the reason for Christ Jesus being born in Bethlehem ? Anyone know ? Actually there were 2 reasons, 1. It was foretold in the Hebrew scripture, Isaiah 7 : 14; where it says, " the young woman will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and she will name him Im-man'u;el, in Hebrew; in Greek I-e-sous or Jesus. I will tell you about the second reason next time. Ok. The scripture in John 1: 29 and 36 was spoken after Jesus baptism by John the Baptist. Micah 5:2 gives his prophecy, about700 years before Christ's birth, mentioning Bethlehem as the place of Christ's birth. Regards from your friend, cousin Doug .
One year our kitty kept stealing the baby Jesus from the manger and there was always a "hunt" for the baby!

Oooh what we're the little gf pastries your mum was making? They looked lovely.
Giselle , do you have a vlog showing how to make your marshmallows . I’m new so haven’t been able to go through all the videos .
I think you talked before about that metal nativity on the window sill. Do the men in your colony make that, and if so, do they sell them to the general public?
Gorgeous nativity, but is Kona's tail not going to brush it off if she goes past wagging it? Hopefully not.....❤
Giselle, I have a question. Does your family have a regular time for reading every day or is it just on Sundays? I checked that Hagee book out of the library based on your appraisal of it. Thank you for this lovely ten minutes of calm and joy!
Do you prepare the sprouts yourself?
No more Sunday school?
