After Sing the Sorrow AFI just hasn't been the same, and I really miss the horror punk days. Rather than release December Underground as AFI they should have just started a new band with a different name.
I cannot be the only one that thinks that one of these things doesn't belong lmao. I've listened to these guys since 2001. And for as long as I can remember they've always felt like they were all four coordinated. Yes in 2006 Davey had the wild hair and too much make up which even he had made fun of in interviews calling himself the "Grandmother of rock" but even during Miss Murder they were kind of unified and went with the look. Here it looks like Davey just got out of a strip club while everyone else has bills and shit to pay.
And musically it seems the opposite, Everyone is giving it their all but Davey just acts like he doesn't care how he sounds and is more into how he looks.
They seem like they're not super well rehearsed and possibly had some monitor / sound issues but Davey sounds pretty good imo

@@PssszztYoyeah it's not the same guy, it's as the guy above just said. Basically AFI 95-03 are the greatest hardcore band that ever lived. That's because of how amazing they are, and how amazing Davey is. You guys have him now, cherish him. I still love him he just went in another direction. But look at his band, they follow him through all the stylistic changes. What does that tell you about him? He's the greatest guy. If AFI are playing the kind of music you like I can almost guarantee they're playing it better than anyone else in your scene
Bro are you stuck in the year 2000? Their style has been similar to this for around 25 years. As of late, they sound very good and tight compared to recent years.
