Width ways bed installation. Renault Trafic camper van project | pt 14

In this video we start on the bed layout by constructing a frame to be able to put wooden slats and a mattress on in the future. I made it out of a spare roof rack but you could make it out of similar sized new steel box section and weld it together. Of course there are more than one way to run a bed width ways, even with our pods, but I went for steel to be able to use a smaller diameter beams to be able to have more storage underneath.

Loving the idea of the width ways Bed Jaz, I had to go with the Rock n Roll bed as i'm 6' 1" and vans not wide enough lol, Can't wait to see the end result as well as the Final Van Build,
The metal looks like 25mm box section its the same stuff i built my roof rack from for my Discovery d2,
There's a guy on Fiddlers Elbow Treharris that sells it quite cheap as well as other box sections, round tube etc

Thanks. Not sure at the moment but once it’s finished it’ll be about 6ft 4.
