Just before starting the DLC I picked up the 'Rivers of blood' sword. I levelled it to +7. It's supposed to be the toughest weapon in the base game. In the DLC it does average damage. This DLC is tough, there's no doubt.

I've been experimenting with a few different weapons, some others are very useful against certain enemies but always go back to the Blasphemous Blade

@MenWhoStareAtGames One thing the DLC forces you to do is experiment. Even so I am stuck in the initial area. I sold a lot of weps in the main game but I have 'night and flame' levelled up and both moonveil and rivers of blood that I am levelling.
