I have a Fujitsu Esprimo E920 DT with 32 GB RAM and i5-4570 works great as esxi cluster server. Got it for 165 USD, 😋

From desktop to server = homelab project? Also i believe E720 85+ support up to 32GB RAM with i5-4570, so for Hyper-V / Proxmox is really great choice.

Nice video! Do you by chance have some power consumption readings on the unit? Is it noisy in idle?

It is silent under moderate load and when idle. I haven't measured power consumption but based on the hardware in it I assume it's about 20-25w idle to 35-45w under load. Very efficient haswell chip.

@@john8520 Thanks! I might pick one up to use it as pfSense firewall. Your video and reply really helped me making that decision. Keep up the good work (:

@@babajaga9345 Thanks, happy to help! It would definitely be a solid firewall/router.

All that build up to taking off the cover, but couldn't actually see what you did.

Here's what I did: use a screwdriver to slide the latch all the way to the left, hold it in that position, and slide the top case forward. Most machines will have a proper plastic latch there so it will be a lot easier, but mine is missing that latch. If I had my phone mounted on a tripod it would have been a lot clearer, so I'll try and do that more in the future.

@@john8520 Thanks I got there in the end, was very stiff. PC was, surplus office equipment from a removal job, not a burglary. Honest...
I have 2 workstations where they took xeons out and hard drives of course. Got a bunch of ram cards. One had 3x16gb & 1x8gb cards they'd left in it. Tempted to try reserrecting the beast, but a bit inexperienced to take the risk.
They design air filtration systems for ships etc. Obviously not short of few quid. Waste not, want not tho.
      Thanks again!
