Wow after listening to continuum and where the light is I thought he was pretty amazing at the blues, but this brings it to a whole new level. great stuff. good to know we still have good artists making (or covering) great music.
holy crap...john mayer is a genius...i play guitar and sing a little so i know that what he's doing is close to impossible for anyone, but he makes it look easy. wow
@TheChaosTheorySounds just the singlecoils in the strat and the video compresses the sound so when johns not playing the buzz can be heard because of the compression
No doubt that Joe is an awesome guitar player. I have seen him twice and both times were great. I just wish he would change his show from a one man gig to integrate more musicianship from his other band members. Other than that, Joe is the man for sure!
@TheGore91 If there was ever 2 people you should not compare or ever put in the same category its Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer...... Infact ANY guitarists or musicians. Personally Joe would crap on anybody out there. His Acoustic playing is the best I've ever seen. P.s. I was at this gig, ive seen John twice and seen Joe 3 times. They've both blown my brains but Joe is just another level. But they both have completely different styles, sounds and talents.
@YPOboi5150 Well in terms of slide guitar, Derek Trucks is the best alive today.... But I don't know about plain electric.... I also think Mayer is better than Bonamassa, but a good argument would be John Mayer vs. Jonny Lang because I have a hard time deciding between the two... I love them both :)
@15jakeb You can't even compare Joe and John they're totally different. Bonamassa is a proper pure blues guitar player and a lot more technical and experienced that John. They both sound completely different and play different music. Why even compare them?
hmmm.... its tough, bonamassa is definetley better technically, but i could listen to mayer all day,but only bonamassa in small doses. mayers def more interesting tho.
the best 'new' guitarist is by faar john mayer bonomassa is good but hes just a typical blues player. john mayer gives his own to blues. stop comparing him to stevie and jimi. yes they were better but guess what... there not here anymore..... so stop comparing them to people who are.
i was there, was brilliant.

Yeah I second that, saw Joe last year as well as a couple weeks back at the Royal Albert Hall. Joe is awesome, every album he has made is brilliant.

Me too and it was amazingly brilliant!! :D
passou a mao na manteiga e começou a tocar! que filha da maeeeee... vai tocar bem assim em outro planeta!
JM's playing great here.
Man he's hitting those strings hard
They both sound awesome. Its irrelevent whos better. Blues is about feel and soul, not technical ability.

It's an original 60s strat my man.

Nice.
Jup, he calls it 'the ultimate 60's strat' , heard that somewhere...
Of course he has!

why? THEYVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR LIKE SINCE THE BEGINNING? :O
he makes it look good though....
what guitars did he trade with him?
Who is that bassist by the way? It's not LaBruyere that's for sure.

who wrote this song?
do you know why?
duffy
@Gibsonstandard67 i like joe dont get me wrong.. but i feel like he over plays.
there is no way to systematically evaluate who is "better". It's the dumbest waste of time. Just listen to the fucking tunes!
I was close too :) Look on my page, I got footage too!
Can some1 tell me why fu*** Jennifer let him go? =)
hmmm.... its tough, bonamassa is definetley better technically, but i could listen to mayer all day,but only bonamassa in small doses. mayers def more interesting tho.

I think Joe and John are both great players, but Derek Trucks is better then both...
@benmols I agree. Joe Bonamassa is better on all levels. Anyone who disagrees is just straight tarded...
