It's week 13, and that means it's almost a wrap on your first trimester. And maybe, you're hoping, a wrap on those first trimester symptoms like morning sickness and fatigue. But if you're like most moms, quease subsides and energy pumps up closer to about 16 weeks. In the meantime, hang in there and check in with your provider if your symptoms are severe. And remember the power of sour: When life gives you morning sickness, try a twist of lemon.
And speaking of lemons, your baby is now about the size of one, measuring 3 inches long and growing at lightning speed. What's the rush? Well, the body has to catch up to that head, which still makes up half of your baby's crown-to-rump length, and catch up it will. At birth, your baby will be one quarter head and three quarters body.
More big progress this week, the intestines complete their move out of their storage space in the umbilical cord and into their permanent home in baby's belly. To nourish that tiny tummy and the other systems and organs that are growing rapidly, baby's lifeline, the placenta, is expanding. It weighs around 2 ounces now, but at delivery it'll tip the scales at about 24 ounces.
There are plenty of subtle changes happening this week as well. Fingernails and downy hair on the body continue to make their appearance. Baby's bones continue to harden. The muscles of the chest wall are starting to develop, along with the vocal cords, gearing up for that very anticipated first cry.

12 weeks is exactly end of first trimester. At 13 week you begin counting ur second trimester which is month 4, in the second trimester.

That is not the way you count months and trimesters in a pregnancy.
My Ob told me I was entering my second trimester at 13 weeks but I've heard different versions from different doctors.

I'm 13 weeks and 4days today and right now small amount of blood is coming out and I'm so scared 😢. God please help me and keep my baby safe and healthy. I dont know what to do

Talk to your doctor but know if it’s a small amount like just spotting it’s most likely nothing! I had/have spotting through my pregnancy and it’s just due to a cervical polyp that grows and feels with blood due to the extra hormones. I remember being super scared when it happened but learned everything was ok. Also a lot of blood rushes to the cervix for other reasons so some women experience spotting after sex when pregnant. A lot of reasons women could spot and everything is fine. I hope this helps
Thank you so much for the advice, I had consult my doctor and he said is red degeneration so basically I'm on bed rest and praying for it to stop and I to have a healthy pregnancy.

Don’t take advice from everyone; there’s almost nothing you could’ve done. Most m/c are due to chromosomal abnormalities as the baby undergoes many cell divisions early on.
The first thing is, understanding that you didn’t cause it and you didn’t do anything wrong. You are not broken or unlucky. Secondly, give yourself some grace. If you are religious, pray. I was 9weeks when it happened to me and praying was the only thing that helped me. It took time though. I was hurting so much emotionally that thought i would die from a broken heart. Now i have a 2 y/o, son & he’s perfectly healthy🌈.
If you want to try again, i encourage you to do so when you feel ready. If you don’t, that’s okay too. You & your partner can get testing done to rule things out. I’m sorry you’re having this experience. You’re not alone. Wishing the best for you.

Sorry for your loss. The baby could’ve aborted itself due to health of baby and you. You will try again and hope for a full healthy delivery.

Not according to my obgyn @bintasall4443 , I was told the first trimester is the first 12 weeks, so according to my doctor, 13 is past the first trimester.

@@carleneC I just had my 12 week appt last week and my obgyn told me the first trimester is 12 weeks, 13 weeks starts second. So I’m guna listen to what my doctor says, and if your doctor told you differently, just listen to them of course.
