TIL that Tom Hanks was in Mission Impossible
Where can I find the MI with Tom Hanks? =)
as a competitor myself, I greatly appreciate these analytical videos. They’re very insightful and I’m super stoked to see you tapping into the “playfulness” of climbing :)
So impressive to see how much you've achieved to build mental resilience for these comps!
Great breakdown man, I love your comp videos. Did laugh my ass off at “Tom Hanks Mission Impossible” position though 😂
dude these vids actually help my climbing skills
Cheers homie!
13:10 I think you meant Tom Cruise haha but damn sick beta! Proud of you Emil.
this brought a lot of joy, imagining tom hanks in castaway as ethan hunt.
You where thinking of the wrong Tom... Cruze climbs, and Hanks runs! So strong, and good break down of your comp.
Whoops 😬 😅
Tom hanks mission impossible would be a very different movie. But I'd watch it lol
I was there watching the Finals, and I have to say that you were by far the best entertainer. It was clear that you were enjoying the climbing.
Thanks my friend! I’m glad I could put on a show :-)
It was a pleasure to be able to watch you in person at the Swedish Championships! I also saw a lot of improvements on your mental game and it's very interesting to see all the process. Thank you for sharing and great work throughout all the comps!
Thanks Emil that was a great video. It was helpful for climbers but also a story about your personal growth over the past year.
Really cool to hear your analysis and thinking for each problem!
Love your attitude! Having fun, being honest with yourself about some of the issues, shouting out other climbers...
Just gotta say, your climbing is insane and you've improved a ton! But dang, that hair is incredible!
Haha good to know you’ve got the priorities straight!
I love this reflection on your experience!!! I usually don't think about this kind of stuff, but I think if anything THIS kind of discussion is the most inspirational AND practical for upcoming competition climbers!
I'm just starting to get into competitions and you give so much good advice! thanks for the analysis and good luck with your future comps :)
Love seeing these recaps and hearing your reflections! Congrats! 4th place for the win.
Awesome video buddy. I like your final statements on the "competitive" mindset and how you perform better when you're having fun and not overly focused on your competition.
Sick climbing analysis! Keep on keeping on, Emil!
I judged a college level comp this weekend and all of the competitors were having fun. It was so refreshing to see! The stoke was high & I think it helped them all fare better. Way to keep having fun, Emil!
Another great vid.. you're looking relaxed and healthy (and strong as always).
Awesome video! Thx for this insight. Good luck an max grip for the next comps 😉
Great music around the 2:45 mark. Love that track
Nice fight and review!
Such a fantastic video and well done!
Thanks friend 😌
Looking good on them blocs though! Competitions are always rough mentally but its good to see you not so angry after a fall. 👍 Keep loose, have fun.
Having fun is such an essential thing to remind yourself of. Ultimately, that is all that counts since it will determine how you think about any climb and any competition regardless of whether you win or lose!
It is great to see that you are still that passionate :)
The fire sweater strikes again😍
I like the having fun idea. At local competitions I don't really get on the podium either, like somewhere between 5-10th, but it's still good fun! :)
Hype hype!!
I love Tom Hanks in Mission impossible!
I like that you learned and that you analyzed a lot. i think obviously you compensate to your style a lot and prefer style climbs that fit you (as all climbers do), i think you have great potential but you'll need to be a bit more aware of foot placement, especially on the press / slab stiff you really kept the feet in vs heavy on the ball of the foot. Also its easier for me to say this as someone watching and not having been someone who climbs. But i personally think once you get the foot work down better then you'll be a super solid climber. (As for myself an old school climber i struggle with the dynamic stuff that everyone sets these days).
Cheers, - maybe i'll see you in the Bern championships?(Where i live)
Evan
That spin move was the way though let’s be honest, looked so good
Casually headbuts the guy with the brush for being too slow haha A very insightful video, thankyou and well done, keep on crushing it brother!
You are my new favorite climbing RUclipsr. So you've already taken that podium by storm. ;) And I mean... that's not an easy thing to do since we all know that there are Magnus and Pete and Ondra and Megos out there shooting incredibly cool videos.
But as far as I am concerned the competition is over. Your style is the best.
Mate that’s such a nice thing to read. Considering there’s so many awesome people out there, I can’t feel anything but honored. Cheers homie!
@@EmilAbrahamsson Haha cool. Cheers to you! :)
do more slabs dude! much love!
2:42 that's how you lose an attempt for nothing 😅
Great vidéo by the way good to sée someone talking about the mental
Where can I order one of these sweaters you’re wearing in the US.
Also love these vids, helps coach!
Where can I find that sweater!? It looks so comfy
I would pay a lot of money to see a Mission: Impossible movie starring Tom Hanks.
"tom hanks mission impossible" 13:13 lol
Also, lets just appreciate that since Hannes cut his hair you now have the best hair cut among Swedish male climbers 💇♂️🎉
what sweater are you wearing? Thanks!
Forever 4th... I know that feeling. (not in climbing) Became 4th at the national championships 3 years in a row. ^^ Lets see if i can make it 4/4
Where did you get that sweater?
How do we watch it the competition?
"failed attempt is only failed if you don't learn anything from it"
Me about to take audio recordings of college lectures and go succeed on some v18s
I was there butt i was too short for qual routes so competion felt rigged i did not even reach some holds
But i was in northic
When will we know the weight secrets behind emil
Is that Polyphia in the background? And could we get all the background tracks?
I should be able to sort it out. It’s not polyphia, but I can imagine the sound is inspired from them!
@@EmilAbrahamsson Awesome thanks!
TOM HANKS!
how was your skind condition in finals?
Erhh it’s been better, but that’s just how competitions with sweaty skin is, you’ve gotta do a lot of management with it
Is fredric also strong outside?
He’s definitely strong! Would love to see him on more stuff though, he hasn’t climbed a ton of hard stuff, but he also hasn’t tried much!
And how do we watch the “Nordic” championships?!?!
Where is qualifier boulder #5?
Didn’t manage to record in time!
It's really ironic, you're my fourth favorite RUclips climber!
Fredrick is a Bakemono
How do obvious and diffcult is it for you when comp routes are designed for people 150cm tall?
Haha it can be a bit annoying at times, but it’s alright most of the time
Very interesting video, but I gave up cause the music too loud in the background
Aw sorry to hear that mate. Mind if I ask what you’re listening on? Was it perhaps AirPods? I had a comment about another video where that was the problem, just trying to figure out why it gets so loud for some :-/
@@EmilAbrahamsson pixel phone loudspeakers. Possibly some people tolerate background music more -- I did find I have to make more of an effort to hear you and separate your voice from the background. To me, that's a strain. I have subscribed, will try again. All the best
@@sdrtcacgnrjrc really good to know, thanks for taking the time to write it. Regardless if you’re more “sensitive” or not, I’m sure that if there’s one person feeling one way there’s more people, and having too loud background music is just a bad thing then imo

Tom Hanks is such a great actor, I really liked him in Top Gun... Also, there was a similar move in the female french championships ruclips.net/video/Kzl6ZWTmdB0/видео.html
Should have an analysing of the nice boulder by hoopers beta;) you can clearly see that you’re arms are less straight and using up a lot of energy.
Nice you got skills…. I’m just an amateur beginner, but being pumped is fascinating, strange feeling even on easy stuff, your arms just die, lol
Dude, you need to match the tops properly It's nerve wrecking watching you in comps 😅
Not a critique of your weight, you're looking a little fuller in the face lately than some older videos, but do you find your strength/performance changes much in relation to your body weight? Basically, do you find you have an "ideal" body weight for competition compared to off season outdoor shenanigans?
I just try and gain as much weight as possible when training and then I’m stronger for comps/outdoors as long as I’ve been training hard :-) e.g no ideal weight, just trying to be as fueled as possible
