He’s a great singer but he is tuning down because his voice has aged. The only other singer who had his voice stay in top shape as he aged was Ronnie James Dio
@@Leprikawn7dude stop there are many. Bruce dickenson, Ann Wilson, Joe Elliot, Tom keifer, and many more. Before you say anything I have seen all these recently.
@@JasonPicard-w4o didn’t say there weren’t but Dio sounded the same at almost 70 and didn’t have to tune down for live shows. Dickinson is one of my favorite singers but he is not the same singer now compared to 5 years ago.

Dio also didn’t sound good in the older years at the end before cancer. I get it your a fan I’m a fan of Dio also but there is a reason why he stopped touring years before he became sick

Mike is like 69 years old and Sammy is 75 years old. When I was a kid they would roll out older rock stars at special events in a wheelchair and maybe do one or two songs. These two make me feel like I can go on forever.

Michael Anthony is a "real pro." Watch at around 4:40, The band is playing the chorus when all of a sudden, M.A. moves on to the bridge, while Sammy is on the chorus. Quickly hears what he has done and adjusts. Most of the crowd might not have even picked up on it. The old phrase, "don't stop playing, just keep in time" applies. Out of sync and back in sync quicker than you can say Jack Robinson! On to the end! Michael Anthony... you are the glue that holds a band together! Plus your vocals are off the chart. Most respect! PSR.

Playing a show years ago, our drummer partially through the song started playing off time for whatever reason. His snare was hitting on the 1 and 3. Had me all messed up. Lol. Had to stop the song.
Guitar loses rhythm, that's a shame ,..... Drums lose rhythm, that's a stop

I saw in 75' in NYC.The tour Foghat/Montrose at the Beacon Theater on Broadway and it just blew the roof off the place!! Energy extended to the Heavens for Angels to hear! And the did!
I saw Montrose in 1975 with Sammy and Ronnie at the RKO orpheum theater, Davenport Iowa. I still have several picks and the t-shirt, and a great memory. Opened for Foghat, Lonesome Dave and Rodger. And RUSH. I was 16.

Vic is one of the most overlooked guitarists out there. He has to go on stage every night with Sammy and play EVH riffs and solos...and pretty much nails them! Much respect

He's not Alex Van Halen...Kenny better all around drummer, especially in jazz. But Alex definitely had the rock groove better than any other drummer, when it came to Van Halen and Sammy's solo songs
@@geneboris185 I've seen Sammy with VH, as well as with his solo band (Waboritas), and they both put this performance to shame. Mind you, the drumming is FAR from the only sloppy part of this clip LOL

Hagar sounds horrible, even with tuning down. And I like Mike, but his singing is overrated. He just screams high in the background
