I know this was a sad video topic but I hope to get into happier stuff in the next few videos, and keep your head high because as I said the severity of what happens to sentai probably won’t be the point of cancellation, plus we haven’t seen sentai 45 yet...... Edit: zenkaiger has just been revealed and, well it’s different folks, ha! Looks like it’s legacy, and very different, this could go very good or terribly wrong for Bandai and Toei. The way they use and market the legacy could be a good thing or not done properly. At first I was skeptical of the suit designs, but now having seen them in magazines, they blend. If zenkaiser has a cool gimmick and the 4 robot zenkaigers are somewhat like imagin (yes from den-o) in nature, I think this may be able to help the situation Edit 2: we’re at the point of the first financial report for zenkaiger, it wasn’t good at 1.5 billion yen, but I’d say we need to give it one more quarter before we judge. Most toys did come out in only March so it only had 1 month to make that. Plus the toys out at that point were not exactly the most exciting, and there were very good signs including sentai gears being sold out at malls and ranking high on toy charts but all of that stuff was from around April. The point is wait for the next report don’t let this scare you just yet.
Yeah I agree with you that sucks and what sucks the most is I’m a new Toku fan since last Xmas I really like Kiramager so far but the older Sentai are better in my opinion is Ryusoulger and kuuranger really that bad because I really want to see them but hear that wear really bad i think they should start making new ideas and make them a bit more mature like jetman and go busters
If they made Super Sentai toys to the same quality as Gundam Toys, I bet they would do a lot better. Then again I guess low sales is why SHfiguarts Super Sentai doesn't exist anymore
top 3 sentai’s for me were go busters , shinkenger , and toquger. the darker and more story driven series with them only being successful with shinkenger despite being so dark . but hopes for a go busters 10 years later sometime soon

He didn't explicitly say that sentai would be cancelled, he just said that since sentai is doing low on sales, the idea of a cancellation is coming out, and even if they plan to cancel it, ryousoulger wouldn't be the last one since they would want to come out with something special. So Zenkaiger could be the last sentai for a while since it's an anniversary season (the post also stated that Toei could also just take a break from Sentai and then continue after a few years). People began taken part of the post out of context and that's why fans thought that Ryousoulger was going to be the last one. The cutting cornes was never confirmed, but it seems to be true since Kirameiger Silver's mech is partially a retooled of the first mech, being the first retooled mech for a main extra ranger. There's still hope since Kirameiger seems to be doing good reception wise in Japan, but still due to not having many toys, the virus and having the worst selling 1st quarter in all of sentai, things aren't looking bright, for hopefully the ratings of Kirameiger makes more people in Japan eager to watch Zenkaiger, plus that show could do better since things are calming down with the virus.
It's sad to see that a childhood memory is going to down painfully,however, I noticed that the biggest success were the ones that are most well known. If my theory is correct Add a entirely new theme + complex and strategical designs + a well balanced and compelling story = that will equal the success of sentai and if they keep following this formula then sentai could saved however bandai is bandai so let's hope they know what they are doing
Two things: 1. Times have changes kids don't play with toys that much anymore. Things like smartphones and, tablets killed traditional toys. 2. IMHO I like Super Sentai too, but to all things comes to an end. I wish they would make a good finale series and then put it to rest. At the very least let it die a graceful death and maybe make a new series a few years later.
Doesn’t apply as much. Sure, maybe the toy industry was dented but it could still make loads of money, many other Bandai toylines continue to do well including kamen rider. Sentai could do well, it’s just bad practices that have kept it from doing so. As for the second thing, if it does have to fall, I’d also want it to be with a graceful last series...
One factor that I feel effect toys around the world is the appeal of playing with videogames over playing with toys, I collect anime figures as display piece and not to play with. But yeah it sucks because kiramager is amazing show that should sell well
Here’s what we need for Super Sentai: -A different color code for Sentai: Other than just Red and Blue, how about Orange, Silver, and Purple as part of the core? Maybe, have a Silver Ranger be the leader for once? Or make the helmets look different just like Goranger and Battle Fever J. -More Female Sixths. Go-OnSilver is the only one to be a girl at this rate. -No more of the same characteristics. For instance, the Red Ranger is a happy, scrawny kid who hogs the spotlight and goes out of character in battle. Then, we have the Blue Ranger and he’s a much better character and he’s more serious. And the Pink one is usually the sweet girl with a squeaky voice. -More focus on the villains. The villains are characters, too; they need more development. Maybe, make another Evil Sentai that we didn’t have since Neziranger. Or maybe, like Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, make the main villain a Sentai Ranger of his/her own. Or maybe even give another female main antagonist. Why not both? -The Red Rangers usually keep taking the Super Modes since KyoryuRed. It worked for ShinkenRed because he’s badass, but the core team needed their power-ups, too. -Make the VS specials 3-parters of the series, like Power Rangers, instead of making them full-on movies or V-Cinemas. -More Extra Rangers. KirameiGold is a good extra, but he lasted only one second. We also need more Non-Ranger allies. -The Robots often come out as combination sequence, making their zord counterparts useless. The zord components end up being useless on their own as the Rangers often skip to the Gattai. I think they should do like Megaranger’s Robot and have it be one whole zord. -They keep pushing 50 episodes per season. Same thing goes for Kamen Rider. The workers seriously needed to catch a break! They have other things to do! -Maybe make the toys like Kamen Rider Faiz, but also make them all useful in battle. -The fight scenes mostly consist of swordfights. This is the modern day, not the medieval days! Although, it works for Shinkenger and Ryusoulger. -The music, writing, and sound composition style are too much the exact same thing. Don’t the viewers get too sophisticated? -FRESH NEW BLOOD. That means different writing, different music composers, different, direction, different composition, different everything! The designs of Zenkaiger can be an example. -Why should every Sentai transformation device be called have “Changer” in it’s name and Kamen Rider transformation belt have “Driver” in it’s name? (That’s also an issue with the belts of Zero-One, Thoser, Ark, Eden, and Horobi)
This is probably why Hasbro might be ending its partnership with Toei if the rumors are true. Super Sentai is not doing so well financially which is also reflected in Power Rangers. Hasbro might be trying to reinvent the series by becoming independent and doing its own thing and not be restricted by Sentai footage. If Super Sentai gets canceled or the quality degrades, than Hasbro is going to have to create original properties eventually so might as well get a head start.
Disney wrote an original story for Power Rangers RPM, while Go-Onger appears to be somewhat chidlike but not as childish as ToQger and Kirameiger combined.

My girlfriend is from Japan and she says shows like Sentai don’t usually get cancelled so I don’t think there’s much to worry about. Sentai in general hasn’t been as popular in Japan as Kamen Rider (which Toei is clearly putting more time and effort into these days) so the decline in ratings and sales just kind of makes sense
Yeah, thankfully even if zenkaiger fails I feel sentai could stick around, that being said if they don’t get 11+ billion yen the way they used to we’ll see low budget like I said for at least for a while. I also think it makes sense that Kamen Rider is more successful. They say a new wave came with den o, truth be told though, the true rise to stable profitability where they tried something that hit was around double. I think zenkaiger has the potential to be like sentai’s double 50/50 I’d say.
Agreed! Shinkenger for example was one of the best seasons but it would've been better if it was 35 episodes, less filler episodes and more episodes on Kaoru
Gokaiger pointed out which seasons prior to Boukenger did well with their toy line. They messed up when they retried the dino theme again too soon AND it was practically a carbon copy of Kyoryuuger. The pandemic should be taken into account for the Kiramager toy sales. Damn so sentai will be operating on a budget for a minute. Thought they were already doing that with Zyuohger so Kyuuranger could succeed.

I think they need a major creative shake up for the 2020ies like I'm told Fou rze/Wizard weren't good, then we get a series like Gaim that Kamen Rider is still riding the heels off to this day

Kiramager is a different situation, given that it aired when the virus was still on it's point of rapid growth, so they probably spent the money on necessities rather than the merchandise at that time.
Not surprised Ryusoulger didn't do well. It was awful. So many excruciatingly boring episode. Garbage villains that would get destroyed repeatedly. Garbage writing. Also Goseiger is my favorite Sentai.
Apart from two, they're all bad. Like really bad. Especially coming after LuPat which, no matter what one might think of the season, had amazing and ingenius choreography, camera work and style. And even the better fights were average as for Sentai standards. Really, when you look at Sentai fight choreography since Gokaiger, the quality had been growing... and then Ryusoulger ruined everything. Thankfully, Kiramager is much better on that aspect.

They need to do 30 episodes instead of 50 . They need to write better stories
