Yup, commented below, but I have the triangle-based ones you first spoke of and hear resonance with them. I am debating on whether to change or do a little duct tape to the cheap ones :)
This popped up on my feed literally the day after I got new stands for my monitors after having them on the desk for so long. I can confirm you're spot on - the difference has been instantly noticeable, on some songs I've been listening to on spotify instruments are a lot more defined and the bass is more pronounced.
I can also recommend getting the VideoSecu 2 Heavy Duty PA DJ Club Adjustable Height Satellite Speaker stands. I use these in tandem with some Acoustic Damper Pads and they work very well. Definitely an upgrade from having my monitors on my desk.
I think for me the isolators are the best fit. There are always compromises when your space is multi-use. I use three screens for work in the same space, which creates some extra reflective surfaces likely not conducive to critical listening. I've been switching to headphones a lot to check what I'm hearing. Thanks for the video.
I'm in a tight space and I use the "Rockville RRS190S Foam Studio Monitor Isolation Pads 7.5" x 9.5"/3 Angles". Better than sitting on the desk. I'll keep these in mind when I eventually upgrade and get in a bigger space.

Well done, my friend. I have a pair of the triangle based stands and they do wobble as you found. The stands were good value but I decided to experiment while we had the builders in. I tried mounting my Yamaha HS8 monitors on towers of concrete breeze blocks with acoustic isolation platforms at the top. It's no pun to say that the sound is much more solid and focused.
Ok, I finally got some stands after watching this video for my Kali LP6 monitors. I went with the Ultimate Support stands in 36" and I cant not believe how much better my setup sounds. Very helpful, thank you. I think the first stands (the ones with the triangular base) are made in China by a number of OEM manufacturers, some with higher quality standards than others. I used to live in China and bought a pair by a company named SoundKing. Then I returned to the UK and bought a pair of stands that looked identical to the SoundKing ones, however, the ones I got in the UK were really poorly made and I ended up returning them and getting a pair of more expensive K&M stands. And yes, the ones from the UK were too made in China.

I got a pair of Skytec stands (like the various identical ones in the first lot of your review, and not like what they advertise now), and they DO NOT WOBBLE! I certainly haven't tried to spike them into my tiled concrete floor, and I'm really happy with them. What's more, the downstairs neighbours have never complained, whereas they used to call the police because of a poxy woofer on a cheap home cinema set-up I had. When ordering them, I thought "HOW much for stands???" but I'm so glad I did. We're talking maybe 7 years here! Cannae mind cos I'm a daft old codger.
To anyone who watched this regardless of what stands you use take Sanjay's advice and get the isoacoustics as well. Recently purchased a set of Adam A7X and they sounded amazing out of the box. About a month later I added the Iso stands and the contrast in terms of clarity was day and night.

I don't currently use stands, although, I have been thinking that I might need to. Currently I am using my Presonus Eris 3.5s on the styrofoam packing from the box they came in. Oddly enough that puts the tweeters at ear level. And at approximately 2" thick they insulate the speakers from my console desk nicely
Hi. Can't understand, how the triangle stands can be wobbly... May be you used them without pins (idk exactly how to call them)? As we know from geometry, 3 dots make only 1 flat surface - so if the stand contacts with the floor only with 3 pins, it can't be wobbly...
