LET THE VOICE OF LOVE TAKE YOU HIGHER ☝☝☝
Ah, Great Days! One of the most cheerful JoJo Openings with the iconic BREAK DOWN BREAK DOWN lyrics at the beginning and a perfect song for this year’s Bizarre Summer. The upbeat nature of the song also reflects this piano arrangement, and you are essentially playing forte from start to finish - a dream for all pianist, who wants to go all out on the piano!
Right from the beginning, I used the three-hand technique to imitate the iconic BREAK DOWN BREAK DOWN while playing the guitar bassline at the same time with alternating hands. I also did the same for all the repeats in 1:16 and 3:38.
This could have been one of the easier arrangements if not for the cursed F# Major key - which has 6 accidentals. But thankfully, the rhythm of this piece is not very complicated and the left-hand patterns are fairly easy to understand as well.
The biggest musical problem I had to solve is the ominous sounding middle part of the original song, starting at 2:44. I experimented with many different scales and the most suitable atmosphere could be achieved by playing a C#7#5 chord (augmented seventh chord) in chromatic succession. And similar to the JoJo Anime Opening Animation, I also applied a “time rewinding” effect for this particular scene in 2:44.
Last but not least, I also added a spectacular finale for this arrangement by playing double trills in 3:50. This alternating hand technique is actually quite popular in advanced piano literature and personally, I think this is the “ultimate” show-off piano technique. It simply looks spectacular for the audience and at the same time, it is not terribly difficult to play as well. (I should use it more often in my future piano covers.)

Expectations were blown away again as always (no pun intended). The energy in the arrangement is hype as always. I thought the "BREAKDOWN! BREAKDOWN!" piano part was interesting. The verses and the choruses were really amazing, always keeping up the hype just like the original song. The final chorus with the key change is always one of my favourite parts, you played it with a lot of hype and it sounded fantastic! Also, the hands and the sheer heart attack were very nice 👀
The video editing on this one was definitely my favourite, with the bites the dust especially. You managed to arrange a chromatic part for the bridge/bites the dust, which I thought was really cool. Absolutely loving all your Jojo arrangements, keep up the GREAT work!

One of my favorite JoJo openings, and I'm glad you covered it! F#/Gb major is the hardest arrangement to play, but it's also the best to watch (this includes D#/Eb minor) since the melody can pretty much be played entirely on black keys. F#/Gb has produced some pretty iconic songs in your music library such as Uchiage Hanabi, Imagination, and Sugar Song and Bitter Step (as well as some pretty famous openings such as Black Rover from Black Clover and Anima from SAO). Plus, it also unlocks that amazing black key glissando that sounds really nice (same goes with the 5 sharp/flat keys, which you could encounter again if Traitor's Requiem is the next song 🤞)
