Rob Plotts Hi Rob! The weather has been wonderful for January! Perhaps a bit of a sneak peek for one of the next videos: I found a 1/2 Reale this past weekend-- it'll be in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching and hh!

Darnell Williams Thanks Darnell!
My life is complete now.
8 bit = 1 Byte
That makes 25 sense!
You’re close! The coin in question wasn’t the 1-real coin-it was the 8-real coin, a.k.a. the real de a ocho, the Spanish dollar, the piece of 8, or the peso. Chopping that 8-real coin into 8 bits made each bit equal to 1 real, not 1/8 real. America’s pegged decimal dollar thus gave a value of 125 mils (12.5¢) per 1 bit/real.
