Covid also helped Ghost of Tsushima. I finished the game pretty quickly and it was pretty easy to get lost in the world. I didn't even use fast traveling much as it was so much fun to just wander around Tsushima.

"Their games don't typically do anything best of the best..." This man is talking about the studio that made Ninja Gaiden and Nioh 2!?!?!?! WTF!?!?! Who is doing combat better??? PLEASE TELL ME!!!
Nioh 2 is probably the most complete and complex combat system in a single player action game. Nothing I've played comes close except other Team Ninja works.
@@upon-fe2720 100% I agree totally and completely, it literally feels like a fighting game level of depth in an action game!!! No comparison!
Really? Complexity is what wins you over? Combat is supposed to be fun no one cares about how complex it is. Idc if its complex if its as fuild as falling down stairs in leg calibers. Stick to you old ass boomer game. Fk off to the past old man @@upon-fe2720

Definitely looks like a sale kinda game to me
"8/10, or a little more or a little less than 8"
Buddy, you just gave your estimate half the scorecard
Lol
He says 8 out of 10 for literally every game that isnt a masterpiece or isnt total trash. Its hilarious
@davidtreece3922 lmaooo it's weird because like, 8/10 isn't a bad goal at all. It is above average and means that there will be people considering it to be a masterpiece.
What a weird thing to spin negatively
@@TheLongestTake it's literally drives me nuts. Luke thinks a game isn't good if it's not red dead redemption
@@davidtreece3922 8/10 its good but not great, no one should aspire to make a 8/10 game, you should always trive for the best, why would you play a 8/10 game when you could be playing a 90+ game?
The Industry needs more 8 outta 10 games!!! Omg this line of thinking is what is killing this hobby and industry.

Nioh 2 had insane combat, so right away Luke is wrong, shocker. What they don't do well is story and level design. Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 combat was amazing.
Yeah but sekiro and souls still beats nioh

@@SlowLearner-z3hso are you saying it's better combat than ninja gaiden cuz of its depth? If you think depth combats makes better then armored core 4th must be better than any team ninja games they put, the turning boost alone takes 1 week to get used to it let alone every mechanics of that game

I laughed out loud at this moment
This game looks like a mix of Assassin's Creed with Nioh and that's something I am going to love... We'll see how the game pans out though.
Yeah, I'm definitely cautiously optimistic but I'll still wait for reviews and live streams.
Damn this channel loves being negative.
To be clear.. im not interested in this game. But i like to be actually objective.

This game isnt perfect.
Id even say some stuff is dated. But still im not gonna go out of my way to dump on it

It's a big budget AAA game made by a large developer, theres nothing niche about this game

@@mathewhosier9739 It's barely AA.
It's a game for folks who mostly have fairly low standards.

Lol no, Ninja Gaiden and Nioh are actually niche.
I think they provided gameplay in the sense that they only gave a very small part at the start of the game for gameplay preview, locking you out of story missions needed to progress.
Personally I think it looks fine and I liked all TeamNinja games I played.
Open world and dated graphics don't mix...was fine for Nioh and wo long because it was simple levels with a focus on combat. Now they want to branch out to the mainstream well good luck with launch PS4 graphics.
I can't think of a successful open world game that didn't have amazing visuals for its time
Now that Luke mentions how the glider starts fast then it suddenly slows down I can't unsee it
Same lol
That’s how a glider works though??
@@chrisfoster3287 the slow down looks very sudden and unnatural here
I don't know about engaging story Team Ninja is a mix bag when it comes to their stories in game but always had great combat.
Team Ninja: great gameplay, mid level design at best, terrible stories
@Budd631 Their stories are presented with charm and character imo. I really enjoyed them. Now From soft stories suck because there is no actual story presented lol

Luke …you and your contemporaries’ silence on Sweet Baby and other DEI consulting companies speaks volumes.
“Silence in the face of injustice is complicity with the oppressor”
“At the end…we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”
The animation ls in the game doesn't feel like it's meant for this world. The horse almost glides across the world as it runs

That’s one way to say smaller RUclipsr 😅
I’m a From Software shill, but I have to give to Nioh 2 for some of the greatest combat ever. Only combat I prefer over it is probably Monster Hunter World.
Try armored core 6
@@hare75 I’ve played every single From game and have platinum on them. From’s game forte is unmatched level design and simple/intuitive combat. It simply lacks the complexity and deepness of more pure action game like DMC, Nioh, or Monster Hunter. Just look at the combo route any of the MH weapons can go into, and From’s game just isn’t design to contain combo branches like that. Even AC6, at the end of the day each weapons have one action, 2 at most, which allows for 4-6 different actions your build can do. Looking at Gunlance you can: poke, poke+shell, shell+shell, swing up, swing up+shell, slam down+full burst, slam down into swing, swing into quick reload into slam, quick reload into poke, wyvern shell, guard, guard poke, guard poke into shell, step, wyvern stake, wyvern stake into wyvern shell, and more if you include special move in Rise or Iceborne.
@@haruhidasoarmored core 6 was alreay depth combat but tbh i only hate the combo in AC6 it doesn't fit in armored core series, the only fromsoft that has super depth control, high skill ceiling combat and satisfying was armored core for answer (my best action game of all time)
I would put Monster Hunter just below but only slightly, although MH has the greatest weapon selection of any game. Nioh isnt just masterful like MH but there's a lot more of it, It's like MH is a gourmet meal and Nioh 2 is 2 gourmet meals with starters and 2 desserts...
The most annoying part of this games coverage has been all the team ninja shills attacking anyone who even barely criticizes how the game has looked so far. It’s not my fault this game is releasing the same day as Dragons Dogma and it’s also not my fault that the game looks worse than every ps4 launch title and some ps3 games like Last of us 1.
Okay, but what about the gameplay? Hasn't this channel been talking about reducing budgets? That means the graphics will take a hit. Ghost of Tsushima was a $200mil game! Team Ninja don't have that kinda pull lol.
Graphics aside, it looks better than Ghost in every way. Better combat, better side characters missions (as we can play as our party members), better level design, better bosses, better narrative design with actual choices, and far better customization.
because the graphics literally dont matter, they are perfectly fine. get your head out of your ass.
@@blackmanwithcomputerthis!
GoT got repetitive because the combat system was not very deep. Cool, great graphics, yes. But how much do I care 30 hours in? Not very much
@@blackmanwithcomputer Yep, that's what people don't see. If Sony gave team ninja 200 or 300 million( Spider-Man 2) they'll mostly likely destroy any other game, because gameplay wise they're miles above anyone else. Ninja Gaiden 1 plays and feel better than many games 20 years older.
@@blackmanwithcomputer bro ghost of tsushima cost 60$ million. Where did you get the 200$ million idea?? When it was revealed everyone was surprised because of how complex and visually stunning it and cheap it was.
@LukeStephens Assassin's Creed is not unique anymore. Infact there is better narrative and stealth mechanisms in the Rise of Ronin and the Ghost of Tsushima compared to Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Yes its a beautiful game but I think players start realising that the gameplay and narrative matter more than a beautiful and souless game. I predict Ubisoft has to try hard with Assassin's Creed Red or they are doomed. Mark my words the Rise of Ronin will sell well and particularly to the Assassin's Creed old school fans 😉
How does Ishin Like a Dragon have better graphics than this? Ishin is just an upgraded Ps4 game.
Skill Up wasn’t very sold on the introductory preview either, so I’m very mixed. Nioh I enjoyed the most at the beginning, Stranger of Paradise I enjoyed the most at the end, Wo Long I didn’t enjoy at all. Very hesitant about it, reviews will be the deciding factor.

@@livetohelpothers8401 no idea, I didn't play the first one either, but it looks like a good enough game that it won't matter. Also, the first game was released 14 years ago. I agree with you. I was thinking of buying both but I’m starting to lean on just buying dragons dogma 2 then buying this when the price drops
i do not see any connection at all between dogma 2 and any souls like game. Not even elden ring. it is completely 100% different. If you have played Dogma 1, it plays like an old school rpg so do not forget that your lamp needs oil! From a feels standpoint, it reminds me of a Dragon Age kinda game but with action combat focus.
Regarding Rise of the Ronin, it is a mix of Assassins Creed with Ghost of Tsushima and a dash of Sekiro. It is based on real people in a real place in a real time of history which is why it has that ac vibe. The reason to buy this game, is unlike Sekiro and GoT, this game boasts so many weapons, each of them packed with combos and power increase depth. If you ever wanted a Nioh style of game, without the supernatural stuff, in an open world setting, this game is it. There will likely never be a game like this again.
The souls community in general loves Dragons Dogma a lot than any other series so most will probably go for it than an actual souls like ROTR 😄
Looks really fun 😊

Saying the Nioh games is an 8/10 is blasphemy, honestly. I am underwhelmed by Rise of the Ronin previews, but the Nioh games are S tier. Literally the best combat of any game ever. I'm pissed Team Ninja doesn't have a 5 year 200 mil budget like other big AAA studios. It is depressing as fuck. I was really hoping ROTR was that
Nioh is definitely S Tier. I really liked Wo Long as well. Did you enjoy Wo Long?
okay chill, an 8/10 is what the game is. maybe even 7. the combat is sick but its pacing is terrible, the level design is lacking quite alot, and it shoots up in difficulty for no reason at some times. enenra alone shouldve been multiple missions in but they put him at the very beginning
fantastic game that is quite rough around the edges
Nioh games are solid. They have good combat. That's literally the entire appeal. There is almost nothing else going for them. 8 out of 10 is a very fair score. And it's still a very good score, so let's not act like it somehow isn't. I would also say that claiming Nioh has the best combat of any game ever is a big exaggeration imo. The combat is cool and flashy and I enjoy it, but it doesn't feel that great to me. Your hits lack impact. It doesn't feel very satisfying.
@MarkHogan994 Fromsoft games literally have no impact either as far as controller feedback. It was interesting as I been play FF7Rebirth and I'm like this game feels good in combat based on controller feedback, but awful during exploration lol
@@KulveTarothsNightGownEnenra is not even hard, the first playthrough of Ni-Oh 2 is easy. The only thing that's straight up bullshit is the building demon or whatever it's called.
Its a Reskinned Wo Long/Nioh. am I the only one that saw the enemy name Matthew Perry?
Looks like Rise of the Ronin will have me going back to Nioh 2 like WoLong did.
Fightincowboy loves TeamNinja games and he said this game is a miss. He said specifically the combat was a step back from nioh and wolong and that the world was not very immersive. Ill take his word for it and wait for more user feedback
I will decide for myself,I like cowboy but he ain't the end all be all when it comes to games like this.
He's basically the only "Nioh fan" who said it's a miss, there's 10 other previewers who think it's good and they are also "nioh/souls-like fans". FightinCowboy is a joke, he also hated on Nioh 2 at first and then changed his opinion which he has already done with his Ronin preview if you check the top comment.
@@mr.b1613 good to kno thanks!
Rurikhan also said it wasn’t good. Areekzgaming also. A lot of independent RUclipsrs which I trust morez
You realize this statement is based solely on a couple of hours at the start of the game right? We're talking about an ARPG here, there's alot you'll still need to unlock deeper as you play the game.
Excited for this one! Love the setting and looks quite like what Ghost of Tsushima could have been if it was a bit more gameplay focused, and since I liked the concept of that game but found it a bit on the slow side I think Rise of the Ronin will give me the experience I was looking for with GoT
looks like Way of the Samurai
Why would they name an enemy Matthew Perry? Maybe I'm old but I instantly think of Friends. Chanandler Bong anyone??
The only question that matters is whether the game supports super ultrawide monitors, including 49-inch and 57-inch models.
Uh team ninja has the best arpg combat. So your wrong from the outside
Nioh 2 is the BEST combat ive ever seen in the genre. What the hell are you talking about?
Did anyone notice the running animation of the horse??its looking oddly weird

Luke “omnipresent” Stephen’s
Dear Mr. Stephens, please consider to tweak your volume levels :D your mic is a little on the low side, so we turn the volume up. Then the IGN vid is even a few drawers below that, so we turn the volume even higher. Needless to say, the bad balance between vid and mic is a bit cumbersome at that point, but alright. And then your Outro kicks in, holy moly. I jumped back in my chair, whole family awake - figuratively speaking ;) thanks for the content tho, i love it
Whoever said "You know Capcom has been on a roll lately, bet their next game's gonna be a flop so let's release our game the same day as them" needs to get A LOT of sense knocked into them.
Also, THIS is a ps5 exclusive when GhostOfTsushima, a graphically waaaaayyyy superior (especially animation-wise) game, was a ps4 title, dafuq is TeamNinja on right now?
Oh right. It's PS5 launch only.
Was gonna say it'll be a buggy launch like Wo Long, but I didn't keep up with the console side.
I would pick it up on a sale if I could convince 2 friends to join me.
Their games have been pretty welcoming for 3 player co-op sessions.
I feel like the horse run animation looks a lot like Dynasty Warriors still.
I think wo long on console ran fine. I'm also on PC so I can't say. But I remember the complaints being aimed at the PC port
Kinda reminds me of RDR1 horse animations where it just seems like the horse is a little too fast.
"Their games don't typically do anything like best of the best." Bold claim that comes off as you being ignorant. Have you delved deep into their best games? Many regard the Nioh series as being the deepest and best in the action-rpg category. They are the best blend of Diablo-style build progression and end game content combined with fast and responsive skill-based combat. Oh, and let's not forget about Ninja Gaiden Black, which is often regarded as one of the best action games OF ALL TIME (and got a 94 on metacritic). And Ninja Gaiden 2 pushed the envelope on fast paced, gory combat. Few games can even compare to it.
Go watch some 'combo mad' videos of Nioh 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 and observe how Team Ninja is a developer with a fighting game pedigree that make single player game combat systems that have depth and nuance comparable to fighting games. A lot of other single player developers COULDN'T EVEN DREAM of creating combat systems as deep and responsive as they do.
The combat in Nioh is tops. The level design is meh and the stories are just terrible. I beat them both and platinumed nioh 2 and Wo Long. The combat hard carries
I just hope the story is long. I don't wanna spend $70+ for 12 to 15hrs of gameplay. I want a game as big as ghost of tsushima I had like 70hrs in ghost of tsushima story. I put like 400hrs in legends mode
Ghost though is more like a 40 hrs game.
@@DV-ou1yu it depends on person and how much time u spend exploring
I think most Koei games make the mistake of going open world in hopes of getting new audiences. However, it took Souls 4 tries before they perfected the formula and then expanded on it. While it only took CD Project two tries with The Witcher, it took them years to perfect each game.
Nioh's combat and gear mechanics were done greatly in Nioh 2. However, the world and boss designs needed a lot more work. They needed another two games/sequels under their belt before they could tackle an open-world ARPG.
The game looks unpolished in a way. There’s no details in the backgrounds. Like with the glider mini game when looking down at the ground it looks dull, empty, and dead.
To be honest, I'm looking forward to a "team Ninja " game that is more accessible. I have a disability so this will help. That being said, im not bind to the rough edges.
Looking forward to the branching story as well.
A lot of the stuff I've seen, both from gameplay and from previews, have basically told me this is looking to be more in line with something like Acquire's Way of the Samurai games, complete with the jank those typically entail as well. I think people going in expecting something like Nioh 2, Ghost of Tsushima or even Wo Long in terms of overall polish might be a little disappointed.
I think a good 7/8 would be exactly what this game ends up, just like how WotS often got around 6/7s back in the day.
Cancelled my pre order thanks,I can't justify $124.95 Aud for this😢😮
How much that in real money?
After seeing Ralph's preview/impressions video, my reservations for Rise of the Ronin have increased and I think more people should temper their expectations than simply head into this game as a mix-and-match of Nioh with Ghost of Tsushima. In their attempt to go "mainstream" with Rise of the Ronin (given Sony is the game's publisher), a lot of what made Nioh attractive as a niche has been excised in favour of catering to an audience who can't handle the Team Ninja game difficulty they're known for with their action games.
That being said, I'll more than likely play Rise of the Ronin down the line, but with VII Rebirth and Helldivers 2 still taking up my time, I'm in no rush to play this when it's released. In fact, let's not be surprised if it winds up as a free game on PS+ before the year ends when Sony's releasing this on the same day as Dragon's Dogma II. I can't see how Rise of the Ronin has a leg up when Dragon's Dogma is an established IP and far more known and anticipated.
I do agree with the"niche" description.
Personally, I see Ronin as a What If Way of the Samurai series were made by Team Ninja so Im looking forward to Ronin!
This combat actually looks pretty fun. Idk about everything else though.
Every TN game
Not a Graphical Stunner but I love this type of games and I'll get it once it's running smoothly.
Rise of the Ronin: Repetitive side quests like kiting and finding cats, Ubisoft UI, and the graphical prowess of Nioh 1. Stephen is not wrong.
Is it just me, or do the graphics look like 2014? Yeah I know graphics aren’t evening but it is a $70 game on a ps5 lol
1) The game's graphical fidelity is absolutely poor
2) However we always talk about how graphics arent the most important thing. The issue is that the graphics and art style are lacking. Elden Ring has bad graphics but great art direction
3) I think both of those things would be a lot easier to overlook if we knew that the gameplay and open world shenanigans were good. Most reviews seem to suggest the gameplay is a step back from their previous titles and the world is all stuff we've seen before.
4) Im not sold that the game is bad anymore than its good. The best we can do is not get our panties in a bunch and relax. If you end up liking it, great! If not, oh well!
Graphics aren’t important what’s important is style I can look at elden ring and say that game is beautiful thanks to the execution of the art style. When I look at rise of ronin it looks on par with assassins creed black flag on ps4 which looks pretty rough in general ronin looks really rough specially for 70 dollar price point
@@inuclearpickle8628 Basically what you said. If RotR had good art style I could forgive the graphics but its just plain. They cant do anything interesting because its all grounded in reality
@@austin0_bandit05another thing I wanna bring up is contrast In the game looks kinda washed out similar to how the contrast made suicide squad look bland
@@inuclearpickle8628 This is true. And the color pallette just seems like 50 shades of brown, grey and green
@@austin0_bandit05 yeah it’s really flat. I turned on GoT just to remind myself, that game is stunning. But what adds to it is the dynamic lighting shifting through the day from cool blues to warm yellows, the weather and particle (leaves) effects and the way everything moves adding so much life to the environments and how the guiding wind ties into it.
With Rise it seems like there is a sepia effect going on almost like they’ve been influenced by old photography thinking that grounds it in its history. But it all just looks a little static and dead.
I am being extremely biased since I finished Ghost of Tsushima just a few months ago. I haven't played the Iki island expansion yet but it's one gorgeous game with really great combat mechanics. Not groundbreaking at all but still immersive. So seeing Ronin in preview form was a bit of a disappointment to me.
Completely missed the part in the preview video where he mentions the wanted system! Attack civilians will result in Ronin and other enemies coming after you.
Didn’t all the DD2 videos have provided gameplay as well?
I mean there's tons of raw gameplay out there, not for this game tho.
@@osirisavra1301Don’t agree, there is a lot of gameplay out there of this game as well, at least enough to have a clear image of what it will be like to play. And that’s what the gameplay videos before release needs to be, to give a clear image of what we can expect and other than that nothing more have to be shown. Take FF7 Rebirth for example, I absolutely loved the game but Square showed way too much of that one before release
Ninja Gaiden and Nioh both have the greatest combat systems in their respective genre
i changed my mind and get DD2 instead

It’s okey that it has problems as long the gameplay is fun that’s what matter!! Many people will buy this game is going to sell enough to keep team ninja on the map to make other hits on the future games are just games they won’t make me successful in life but people likes the competition on what’s better or not but for me all games have something to say in there own way
My current biggest gripe with this game is that they most likely introduced a similar rock, paper, scissor stance system in their combat like ghost of tsushima.
I absolutely hated that idea. Why not let me play the stance I want to play and force me to use a stance I don't like?!
This idea was also (in my opinion) by far the worst decision sucker punch made with their game.
the horse riding looks weird and the most immportant factor is that Ronin is a PS5 Exclusive title and its releasing the same day as Dogma 2 and this game is a Multiplatform game and both are 70$ so what game do u think gamers will pick?
If they let ppl play it then why did they only give them stock footage to use
This studio just churns out games for quantity over quality, but that said they do make entertaining games. They aren''t your typical $70 AAA game, but solid AA games.
Im really excited to play it but it’s fine if someone doesn’t like it if you are a graphics person it definitely won’t be for them just like every other team ninja game even tho I think their art is pretty good most of the time
And team ninja fans are still saying this game looks better than Ghost of Tsushima lol.
I love Ghost of Tsushima but in many ways this game does have more going for it than most open world action samurai games
@mr.b1613 Not Ghost it doesn't
@@RyanG0899 Ghost has visuals and probably story, but Ronin probably has better combat, loot, swap playable characters, bond system, traversal with the glider, online co-op, and an interactive crime/heat police system
There's 3 difficulty options in this game, easy normal and hard you could actually do some research before you slate a game and saying its going to be brutal where as team ninja have said many times in interviews that they've gone for difficulty options so the game appeals to more gamers
I’m interested in this game but with all the other games coming out idk when I’ll play it. Maybe in late April or early May is stellar blade is a stinker
They're not chasing Sekiro and the gameplay won't be souls like. They long confirmed the game will have a few difficulty levels and the combat clearly is more arcade style than the gritty souls combat.
Dragon's Dogma 2 will also not be souls like at all. It will appeal to elden ring fans in so far as it appeals to any open world games' fans through explorations and dynamic encounters.
Rule #1 , if many starts to criticize a game . then , we will witness a generational game
I hope Gonzo is playable in a DLC or something....
Idk Luke, nioh 2 was a 10/10, 9/10 at worst. But I agree rise looks a little rough around the edges
A revamped wo long, probably just as good.
Always refreshing to have your insight Luke, now for mine. It hurts me that i’m not willing to pay $90cad fora game that looks like this, hud feels outdated and combat is clunky, when i saw lightning on the tip of that spear i took it out of the wishlist items. I do believe that the standard Ghost of Tsushima set ruined samurai games for me. Wake me up when the sequel gets announced.
tbh alot of from soft and souls like games dont become mainstream because alot of people dont like those type of games the only one that was mainstream in my eyes were sekiro due to the retry/revive system and elden ring due to how easy it was i think alot of people dont like the unforgiving and hard parts of those games
God, I hate that lighting. It's so unshaded, there's no contrast in any scene, nothing pops. They seem to use FSR which is just terrible at reconstructing lower resolutions. Just look at the foliage. Combat looks generic. But maybe we'll be surprised in the end.
was really hoping this would get a PC release, I could see modders having fun with this as well if it is possible
Don't know why they made games only for ps
They can earn .ore if they release on pc too
It looks like janky fun. A lot of these games that try to do a little too much are really interesting to me. It's ironically kind of how I feel about DD as well. I'll get both at some point. I'm fine with that.
There's a boss called Matthew Perry. At 9:22.
I really like their games but what you said is pretty on point
I think rise of ronin will be fun but won't be revolutionary or be a must play immediately.
I could be wrong. I didn't think lies of p would play as well as it did. It looked amazing and played way better than I thought. So who knows. But I just think it'll be fun for anyone who likes their games or a faster souls like experience in terms of combat
@ 1:15 Just off this statement I can tell you werent around for the Ninja Gaiden games.
Ghost is honestly a boring game with basic and boring combat predictable story with yes with pretty environments but boring its just a fact i played story and didnt care to finish why cause im a gamer and its always gameplay over graphics and sorry got graphics were not enough for me its just nice to look at like a movie but to me combat stealth and story is ehh they just made its nice too look at but once i played after 20 to 30 hours its just boring and lazy slapped with pretty graphics
Yeah it's teamninja being teamninja alright
So what's the best combat system for all the era that team ninja has new titles?🤣
People know that team ninja released a game during the ps3 last year right? It's called Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors Edge you guys think this game looks like that?
No but compare this game to the ps3 version of last of us 1. Better yet, compare this game to any early ps4 title. Infamous second son, killzone shadowfall, warframe then and now, order 1886, etc. Let’s not even bother comparing this game to other titles within the last year because it doesn’t compare. The combat just looks like Nioh 1 combat. It doesn’t look like there are many new animations or improvements on the animations. It just looks so rough. The large towns look ugly and have that mid 2000’s brown and green aesthetic that games like gears of war and call of duty had. We’ve moved past that. We have games like Alan wake 2 and Baldurs gate.
It def doesn't look like a ps3 game, it's more like an early ps4 game
This game will live and die by the details. We know Team Ninja can develop competent combat systems and rpg/gear systems. The Nioh series flourished being completely carried by these two things alone. Imo they have been straight up bad at both designing levels and telling stories. If they can do either of those well, i think the game will be pretty good. I dont have much hope for the world design, but maybe they can tell a compelling story with the assistance from Sony. Who tend to be pretty good at that.
The game looks like its trying to be everything
The timing of release may help this game on sales numbers but its clearly a 7/8 game, for me the only 2024 game I'm looking forward to play is Black Myth Wukong, most likely GOY24, its on UE5, hope its well optimized for ps5
People study games too much like its a damn university degree nowadays and rely on other peoples opinions on them, just play it without overthinking and who knows you all might start enjoying gaming again 😂 😂
This is coming from a Team Ninja fan. Nioh 2 is my favorite souls game of all time (tied with Sekiro). Based on what I've witnessed so far this game is heading for a 6 out 10 at launch.
RoTR following behind Wo Long is aiming to be what Elden Ring was to the Souls series; a game that appeals to the mainstream. Nothing inherently wrong with that. It's an amalgamation of different popular games and its mechanics are comparatively oversimplified. But its console exclusivity at launch and its lack of current gen graphical allure will deter new players.
Over the years however I think people will recognize it as a decent game.
The studio always makes games like this, concentrating in gameplay rather than graphics. Nioh 1 and 2 literaly look like this but this is an exclusive and people like to compare it with others or label it harshly because of its inclusivity. But people are hipocritical and like to say that it depends on what you seek on a game that makes it good but since its a Sony exclusive it looks bad even though the studios make their games like this always
08:18 look how fast he flips. this makes me quite sure that the game is not worth buying (for me)
Dude Nioh 2 is an absolute masterpiece wtf are you talking about?! Have you been in the Underworld in NG+++++??? No? Then you havent finish the game! Theres no better combat and talent system in a 3P action game out there! Not even close!!
Nah
Hi Luke, I started watching your channel in the last few months. I just wanted to say I find your reviews and comments on things very insightful and informative, and it’s made me more open to playing types of games that I might not naturally gravitate towards.
Have you heard of ninja gaiden luke ? Over a 90 on metacrtic and definitely revolutionary (in the genre) and can be considered a “magnum opus” now yes it’s been decades but nonetheless it renders alot of your earlier comments on team ninjas pedigree inaccurate
