It is the album that I discovered when I was only 13 in 1985 and that got me started on rock music. I still listen to it..one of the best live performances I've ever heard. This is when Bruce was at his peak.
They played Long Beach 4 nights and it's one little regret to have not watched this tour live. Was in California, but too young and dumb to map a plan out to make it happen.
Without a dought anyone that says different probably thinks Budweiser is the best beer ever made . Bruce Dickeson brought magic to the stage I felt for him when his illness stole the that gift.
Maiden was already climbing the metal ladder to the top for years by this tour but they took it to the next level in 1984/85. Rock in Rio 1 performance, 5/6 nights at sold out Radio City Music Hall in NYC, 4 sold out nights at Long Beach Arena where this was recorded. LEGENDS
I just jumped over here after listening to some of the Ozzy/Randy Rhoads tribute album, and I almost want to cry because I know that I can't see these legendary performances with my own two eyes.
@@derekspitz9225 I’m gonna have to disagree with you about Live at Leeds being the best live album ever (although it is still awesome!) but yeah, If You Want Blood is definitely in the top 10
@@User-jk8wq I say Live at Leeds because (apart from be just a great album) it captured the essence of theThe Who (the only album to do so fully imo) and because of the influence it had on the birth of hard rock and metal. Your number one live album would be...?
@@atheistconservative6211 Slayer??? No man. Here we are talking about clear voices and understandable melodies, not guttural noises and background noises that I think may be guitars. No man, Slayer is far from even comparing to Maiden. I still remember the headache from listening to that crap at the Monster of Rock in Argentina in 1994 for 40 minutes and it makes me want to throw up.
esse é o melhor álbum ao vivo do maiden ultrapassa o rock in Rio ultrapassa o live donnigton o qualquer ao vivo que o maiden fez só duas guitarras isso é muito foda
Always saw this as a anti- industrialized abortion song about corporate abortion lobbys and unrestrained greed. If they tell you it ain't a baby think again and the slaughter of the unborn, firstborn scars both both mother, infant and father.
of all the live heavy metal band albums going, I don't think this will ever be bettered. I dont know if overdubs were used much or not. I'd rather not know! The sound is so immense. I cant listen to the 'a real live one/dead one' albums cos the sound sucked so badly compared to this!
I seriously doubt any overdubs were used on this album; I mean, if they were then the number one priority would have been fixing some of Bruce’s dodgy vocal notes yet there they are in all their balls-to-the-wall glory! But then who cares either way? The record is incredible and I respect them so much for leaving it sounding so natural and raw. Up the Irons!

.... im pretty sure this is more of an anti war song; the two minutes to midnight refering to the doomsday clock.
it is an anti war song
