I used to make nets this way. When I finally jumped in and learned how to make a netting needle and do it the way an old timer fisherman would, my projects became larger, more elaborate, look better and even function better. With practice it's an order of magnitude faster as well. Don't let it intimidate you ... it's a worthwhile endeavor.

I have always stayed away from making my own net simply because I thought it was a difficult process. But, after watching you and you explaining the process step by step, I will now be attempting to make my own net on my next bushcraft/fishing trip. Thanks for the instructions Dan and thanks for another great video.

I remember someone on alone building a net and I didn't remember what season it was but it must have been you because it was the easiest way I've seen to make a net. The guy from last season not this season had a kind of strange way of making the net it works but it's way too complicated as compared to the way you do it anyway thanks for the video been wondering how to do this again and now you brought it back up I got it in my head I'll never lose it thank you. Nets are fun to make. Natural materials take much longer, but nets, baskets, fishing line and plenty of other stuff can be made naturally when you lose or run out of cordage. Great videos. Been watching for a few years.

I purchased some Magic Spoon cereal and some of their snack bars based upon your sparkling recommendation.
I realize this is probably the healthiest pre-packaged breakfast food/snacks on the planet; but, the bars had no (zero) flavor and the cereal tasted like 3-ply cardboard with cinnamon sprinkled on top.
Having said, I know some folks who, like you, love it.
I’m sticking with my poached eggs and ham steak.
Great tutorial on the net making.

Here's a tip for you for making stuff like your net frame. Not sure if ya got it but GREEN BRIAR! The green vine with tons of black thorns, scrape thorns of and it's the most pliable vibes out there, I just used em to make the frame for my otter quiver to keep it open! Great for tons of stuff, check it out if ya got it around!

Could you just place the strings farther apart and center the knots up as high as they'll go, then scoot the base knots on the hoop closer together? I bet that would make for some easy even spacing....I'll try it myself and see, I think. Great tutorial; I think one of the biggest lessons I've taken away from watching scores of bushcraft videos is "Never go anywhere without cordage--and know how to make it, too!"
