@@House_Of_Cards_ plenty of ordinary wehrmacht soldiers were war crimes. You basically had to be when you went on the eastern front. Either you were a war criminal or you were a silent witness.
@@TheIfifi Antony Beevor wrote a number of books about Allied war crimes on the Western Front in France all the way up to the Battle of the Budge. By 1944 General Bradly was even quoted in saying he was surprised his men were taking any prisoners. Beevor himself stated along the lines that all the evidence of these crimes were quite bare, we just ignored them, as it was considered a sin to say anything horrible about our greatest generation. But he said the evidence is there, in Journals, and witness accounts by G.I.s mostly ignored by most historians, and just rarely talked about. It's why every serious WWII film based in the western theater at the very least has one scene in which POWs are killed, even Band of Brothers, but the issue is it was considerably more common than movies like Fury, Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers lead viewers to believe. Let alone the theft, rape, and general crimes committed on Civilians. Though they honestly pale when compared to the horrors seen on the eastern front, they're definitely things that shouldn't be ignored.

Imperial story that isn’t Inferno Squad, where good people can still have some sort of fundamental flaw, or anger, or loyalty, that compels them to fight with the Empire? Good and bad Imperial officers alike? One can only hope; and it’s easier said than done haha. Good luck!

Thrawn was the best example of a officer who was fully committed to the ideals that the Empire said it had. His fleet he controlled its personal and soldiers were some of the most experience and best crews in the Empire. You can tell well Thrawn was Imperial. He was the kind of Officer you quickly became loyal and respectful to due to his efficiency, and treatment of his men and those he defeated.
He was a example of a good soldier and officer. Proof that in the Empire thousands of other soldiers and officers were just doing there jobs and actually were good people and in some cases actually fulfilled what the Empire has said it wanted to accomplish. Seeing A Imperial's perspective of the fall of the Empire would be a very interesting concept as we will essentially be seeing a soldiers pov of this.
On that note I hope Disney Lucas Films now that Kennedy is pretty much on her way out and SW might get a second life that they make more star wars side stories we could use a official one that is firmly Imperial based. After all we have plenty of material to choose from and no longer have a raving idiot at the helm anymore. Perhaps one like this one? Or a Starship crew? So much potential.
@@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent Star Wars: Squadrons is giving me a bit of hope for more stories examining the Imperials. The Imperial side of the storyline gave them as much of a victory as canon could, which was a pleasant surprise. And the Imperial pilots were all interesting and remained somewhat sympathetic, despite remaining loyal to the Empire.
the fact is that In legends A lot of people liked the Empire and valued the Stability and order it brought. Disney refuses To stormtroopers as little more than Cartoon canon fodder.

I wasn't so gaga over Mando. I thought the first three episodes were solid then they started with the Easter eggs and the retconning. I know this is the star wars universe. Get off Tatooine. It was all such convenient writing

This is what I've always wanted, for loyal imperials to be seen in a good light! I wish you all good luck in this production!
And now we can finally have another story that details not all stormtroopers were bad. Many of them were good men and women who felt they were doing the right thing, who felt that the rebellion were nothing more then terrorists. Some serving the empire for honor, others so they can make a good pay day.

Canonically, many Stormtroopers were nearly fanatical and were trained to not worry about loss of life-or-limb in battle. But I definitely agree that that alone doesn't mean that they can't remain sympathetic and have very relatable views on the situation.
You have to remember that Saw Guerra's rebel cell treated any Civilians killed during any of their raids against the Empire as Collateral damage. He in the true sense of the word was a Terrorist.

I LOVE THAT POEM
When I first saw the original short film, I absolutely loved it. It was well made and told an interesting story from an interesting perspective in the Star Wars universe. But I knew that it had the potential to be so much more, it had room for more stories and more ways to expand these characters, and it makes me super happy to see that the fine folks at Transmute Pictures thought the same way. My only worry going forward is this potentially great series getting the wrath of the copyright lords over at Disney. Yes, you've stated that the series is non-profit and you claim no ownership over anything, but history has proven that even that won't stop them. But that doesn't mean this series is doomed. Just do your best to be cautious going forward.
