There could be numerous reasons why you're getting blurry text on your Windows computer. E.G - it could be that you've changed your display or your display settings may have changed. You may be running an app & have compatibility issues, etc. It's frustrating when you experience pixelated text, blurry fonts or not clear fonts in Windows 10.
In this video, we look at 6 fixes on how to fix blurry text on Windows 10, 5 of which are a general fix across Windows & 1 is a specific fix relating to apps. This video applies to computers, laptops & desktop PC's running Windows 10, such as Lenovo, HP, Dell & more.
The video assumes that you're running the latest version of Windows 10 & using one display.

OVERVIEW 🕖 0:00
✅ 1. SET CLEAR TYPE TEXT (GENERAL FIX) 🕖 1:27
Enter 'clear type text' into search bar. Select this option as shown. 'Clear type text tuner' window opens. Tick the box - 'turn on cleartype'. Select 'next' when happy. The first check makes sure your monitor is set to it's native resolution. Select 'next'. Then ensure you select the relevant text sample on each of 5 screens that looks best to you. Click 'next' each time. At the end, the windows says 'you have finished tuning the text on your monitor'.
✅ 2. LET WINDOWS FIX APPS THAT ARE BLURRY (GENERAL FIX) 🕖 2:36
Type 'advanced scaling' in search bar. Select 'fix apps that are blurry' from the option listed. 'Advanced scaling settings' window opens. Under the 'fix scaling for apps', toggle the option to on - 'let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry'. You can also look at 'custom scaling' option, although this is not something I recommend changing.
✅ 3.ADJUST THE APPEARANCE & PERFORMANCE OF WINDOWS (GENERAL FIX)🕖 3:31
Type 'performance' or 'appearance' in search bar. Select 'adjust the appearance of Windows' from the option listed. You can 'let Windows choose what's best for my computer', 'adjust for best appearance,' 'adjust for best performance' or 'custom' and customize your visual effects settings. We chose 'adjust for best appearance' to try & maximise the clarity of the fonts / text on our PC.
✅ 4.OPTIMIZE DISPLAY SCALE & LAYOUT (GENERAL FIX) 🕖 4:32
Type 'display' in search bar. Select 'change the resolution of the display' from the option listed. 'Display' settings screen opens. Under 'scale & layout' ensure the size of text, apps & other items is set to the recommended level - 100% in our case.
✅ 5. OPTIMIZE DISPLAY RESOLUTION (GENERAL FIX) 🕖 4:48
Under 'display resolution', ensure it's set to the recommended level - for us, it was 1920 x 1080p. NOTE - this will differ according to your monitor.
✅ 6. SET DPI SETTINGS (SPECIFIC FIX) 🕖 5:09
Find the app causing issues. We looked at Google Chrome. Right click icon. Select properties. Select 'compatibility' tab. Go down to 'change high DPI settings' button. Select 'use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in settings'. Also select 'use the DPI that's set for my main display when - I signed into Windows'. The under 'high DPI scaling override, tick 'override high DPI scaling behaviour'. Select 'application' under scaling performed by: Select 'OK' to apply the changes, then 'apply' if happy.

I changed the performance setting in order to provide a better perfomance and that ruined how the texts were displayed specifically on Chrome, they started to look like some windows 95 texts. I performed the DPI last fix from the video on Chrome and it worked perfectly while keeping the best performance option. Thanks a lot!

Sadly none of this helped. Certain fonts tend to have very poor rendition on my PC especially or exclusively on vertical lines. I have good quality dual 24" monitors and a crazy good GPU. Identical with all web browsers I've tried (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and probably with other apps as well but I tend to run into the greatest variety of different fonts on the web so it's hard to be certain.

please if I open some programs in my computer the icons and text inside that program look blurry and fading out but if I hover the pointer over them, they become clear. But becomes blurry if I remove the pointer. please help me.

Does not work. Clicking the box and taking the test changes nothing. "Font smoothing " and possibly registry changes are necessary to restore true 1-color font from present ClearType color smear. Test in Microsoft "Paint". If flood filling an area with a color occupied by letters or numbers typed in with that same color does not erase them, "ClearType" is still smearing your typing.

I just came on Win 10 from Linux...and Win 10 with nvidia drivers, etc, it's just horrible in looking, feels like i just moved from Ferrari to an Opel
My TV looks super sharp and crisp when on 60hz interlaced, but when I go to 60hz (normal) it doesn't look as Sharp and crisp. Does anyone know why?
