. Excellent Teaching at an affordable rate. If you do what he teaches and apply yourself you would be able to lay bricks by the end of the teaching. He was nice enough to allow me to leave these lessons up on RUclips.
I've been doing this 15 years and still enjoy this video. This guy explains things really well. I wish the teachers at my college were as good back in the day!
excellent video! you're description of how to make full head joints on soldiers was wonderful! you're the only one who has taken the time to show how is done correctly
I bought some bricks from south america , Built my house, moved in ! And dame the naborhood junkies came over and snorted my house down ! Great video this man reminds me of my passed away freind Moonie ! RIP

Wonderful video for beginners...Thanks for posting...
Wonderful great🎉😁thank you
Excellent instructor! #Bravo
You need to hold the trowel further back on the handle and your hand will not be covered in mortar. Two swipes is all that is needed for a cross joint and that is 30% less time and effort. Also when you cut the mortar on the face of the brick you should cut it in both directions forward and back twice as fast and no wasted movement. Double buttering both ends of last brick and the two already laid on the wall as you showed is good and assures a full joint fast

See his first video for the reason he holds the trowel in this style
I suppose you could lay the bed properly with enough mud butter the perps with the cut off from the face - it would be easy to start cheating and literally lay the brick tuck the front corner with mud - then we start pointing and it falls into the joint .......
You as a seasoned bricklayer can put a cross joint with 2 swipes. But any beginner is going to learn it the way he teaches and will be expected to do so if the apprentice wants to get his raises and/or successfully complete there apprenticeship. This was the exact same way i learned during my union apprenticeship.
perfect way to teach...thank you so much.
So when does the lesson not to mix more mortar than you need kick in?
Hillbillys are always good instructors.
And please, I don't mean any disrespect, all my good instructors were just like this guy
Very good man. Not like these capitalist competitive silly modern trade people
You are really saying something, what this guy is teaching would make a job better not taking any more time...
How old is this video?
as old as him about 200 but not as old as me at 300!
