March 19th, 2021 Stage IIIA Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (Non-Smoking)
February 2022 Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (spreading to Brain, and other parts of lung and lymph nodes)
Gene Mutation EGFR with Exon 20 Insertion
TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Current Chemo Plan; ongoing
6 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
Carboplatin is now COMPLETE and I continue Alimta and Avastin
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my family.

I'm on 3 chemo pills a day for bone marrow cancer...
I've had the cancer for over a decade and they finally found it about 4 1/2 years ago. Before that, I felt crazy because drs kept telling me that I was just being lazy because all I could do was sleep...but it was cancer the whole time.
5 - 6 years ago I looked *TERRIBLE.* I literally looked like death, so how drs could say there was nothing wrong with me is mind boggling.
Now that I've been on the chemo for the past few years, I look healthy again, and some of my stamina is actually back! I still sleep *a lot,* and I'm on some pretty wicked pain killers, but I'm still here for my son (he's 24 and a brand new teacher! 😍), so I'm counting that as a win!
I pray that my chemo won't stop working for me (Ruxolitinib) because there aren't a lot of options for my type of cancer (Myelofibrosis).
We're strong though, Jenny....
All of us living with cancer are.
And we deserve SO much better.
Cancer needs to be eradicated once and for all. 😤
Wow, that was a long time without being diagnosed. You must of been doing something right. Probably the will power to be there for your child was a big part of that. Awesome that they found what works for you.

My husband is on targeted therapy for Leukemia. It is targeted to his DNA and has been fantastic so far! He takes 1 tablet everyday and it has halved his white cell count ( which is good). It’s amazing!

I am sorry you are dealing with all this, I would be afraid too. I am a cancer survivor, every time I have an oncologist appointment I panic. Cancer treatment and drugs have come a long way, I am sending hugs, love and continued prayers. Little early for me but in a couple weeks , carols will be on .

It's ok to be emotional. One thing I envy actually, is that you have such a wonderful family - your husband loves and supports you beyond measure and your two little nuggets of joy are such a blessing. Just focus on each hour of each day and absorb the love and sunshine that surround your life. All your friends here support you too, and we are praying for you. You WILL conquer this; you may have a few mountains to climb, but stay focused on the prize at the end of this journey.

No spread of the cancer is awesome! No more chemo is also brilliant news as it must have been horrible to experience all the side effects. The new treatments sound so hopeful and you are looking good. You are such lovely parents. Its a joy to see you with your children. Much love and prayers. X

Wow... what a relief that your PET scan was good and you may be eligible for targeted therapy. All around *really* positive news; you two are absolutely lovely and so naturally supportive of each other. Your videos are beautiful even when it's scary appointments you're both facing. Fingers crossed on the next treatment and keeping that fluid away! It also seems like you're doing well off prednisone for awhile now? Your fears are understandable cos cancer is unfair and unpredictable, but your options do sound very promising and your spirits are much higher in the past few vlogs. Let yourself feel sad, but let yourself feel happy too.

Hi Jenny I mentioned to you a few weeks ago that B12 was really important when you're vegan. The rest of the family should be taking it as well if they are vegan. The only way we can get B12 is through meat, fortified breakfast cereals, and fortified nutritional yeasts. Our bodies do not make B-12. It's really important to make sure you take it and everyone in the family takes if they are vegan😊❤
Just want to let you know that the reason “meat” has b12 is because the animals are given supplements. You’re just getting the supplement secondhand.
A friend of mine who was diagnosed with Stage IV NonSmall Cell lung cancer. She also had a more rare type of lung cancer mutation and she was placed on targeted therpay and is currently doing well 8 years later, She is has seen one of her kids get married, more grandchildren, a trip to Europe, and actually when back to work. She amazes me each and every time I see her. I hope that you will do equally as well with your new treatment. You are an adorable family.

Hi Jenny. You popped up in my RUclips feed. Many moons ago. I don’t have cancer. I have an auto immune disease and a 12 year old daughter. My illness causes me so much guilt.
It takes me away from so much that I wish I was able to do with her.
It’s truly terrifying to be seriously unwell when you are a parent. I see how present you are when you are with your children. It’s really beautiful. This sucky situation has given you a better appreciation for what really matters in life. Keep making memories with and loving on your gorgeous babies. Try to stay strong.
This new plan they have in store for you sounds like a really good opportunity. It feels positive.
The future of medicine is mind boggling. Medical advances are advancing at speed. Always.
Your body will appreciate no more of that chemo. You’ve given it every go and then some.
I understand your anxiety. Over trying something new. After the experience you had on the immune therapy treatment. Who could blame you. Good lord.

Regarding my health. I ended up getting approved for one of those new and expensive biologic medications. Changed my life. I’m 45. I was diagnosed at 18 months of age.
I’ve suffered my whole life. No treatment has ever worked.
Suddenly this whole new treatment option.

It's awful watching someone get upset when you can't do anything to ensure their comfort, only type words of encouragement and hope, which I hope this is for you, and to know you're not alone in your journey, and that you've many people who are guiding you through the difficult path, of which I am sure there will be a less rocky road. I had thought for a moment you had Percy Pigs in The U.S, then I realised that in fact they had come from Norther Ireland, I only realised it must have been this side of the world when I saw Colin The Caterpillar and then noticed M&S - all my favorite type of sweet treat, now I've seen them, I must now get some - I hope your November is a positive one, you've a lot to look forward too, Thanks Giving and then Christmas and a bright New Year for 2023 - here's to the future. You're allowed to feel scared and say so - after all bravery is not the absence of fear but facing it - and you are, spectacularly. I so admire your strength and am so sorry you are going through all this! Your husband seems very loving and supportive n your kids are adorable! That means the world!, I am a 72 year old woman who has a recurrence of her 2 positive breast cancer after 24 yrs!without going into a long story I chose not to have chemo this time around. I was receiving targeted therapy but had to stop as it was affecting my heart!, on top of the recurrence I discovered I had a silent heart attach n had to have stents put in my heart. More to this ongoing saga but I will just say stay strong. I too now have limited options for treatment but feel I will be ok. My heart goes out to you! I greatly admire your strength and you inspire me to stay strong n believe. G-d bless you and your family!!

I cannot believe what you are going through! You are a brave lady🤗. Try to live in the moment-especially with your children. I am an alcoholic and I have learned to live in the moment-don’t look back and don’t look too forward. It’s nit so easy in your circumstance! Make beautiful memories. I am thinking positive for you all. My Stepmother is on target therapy for her stage four bone cancer throughout her body. It has been over a year and nothing has gotten bigger or spread. She is doing so good. I believe in my heart that God has sent you on this new journey for a reason. You are going to beat this cancer !! 😑

My main fear after being recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer is the day I run out of treatment options. I am not there yet, but hearing that our bodies will eventually get resistant to the chemo is sobering. Obviously that would make sense since they consider stage 4 cancer as terminal. What a long hard road we are traveling down. I can say, that I am glad to have your videos to help on this journey. ❤

I am so sorry you are scared and going through this. I am so happy for you that you have Kyle and the kids. I love watching your with them. I have had breast cancer 2 times and finally a mastectomy, My husband left me for someone else no not a younger woman a very old female, i wont say a woman because i believe no woman or man would hurt someone so much and destroy a family. Anyway I have 2 daughters that dont help me the are 35 and 29 and the older one told me "Good Luch with that cancer thing" and they told me to prove i had cancer man oh man now i am crying. I almost died last year with covid i was in a coma for 18 days i had to learn to stand and walk and hold a spoon it was terrible let me tell you. I also have Multiple Sclerosis and now i have Diabetes thank you covid and because of the cancer drugs and the M.S. drugs I was now diagnosed with severe cirrhosis of the liver man oh man does it stop: Like you I trust in GOD I know he is taking care of me. Trust me you are blessed all you need is your family. I wish I had someone to help me. I tried making a real dinner tonight beef stroganoff not to much beef i really dont like it but it took me all day to make it It is still hard for me to stand up. I get so angry I JUST WANT MY LIFE BACK!!! at this stage in my life I should have a family. hmm ok im sorry for going on. I love you guys and I love your family GOD bless you!!!

I'm so sad lying here in my bed at 4am in Australia praying for this new trial to be the answer for you Jenny. I recall my mother's two battles to finally be free from cancer and she lived a full life till 91. There are many people around the world projecting prayers and positive thoughts your way and I am just one of them. I feel your fear and want it banished. Bless you all. XXxx
