They´re variations on "Las Folias de España", a popular spanish theme. A lot of composers have used this theme to compose variations, (even Vivaldi). ;)
BRILLIANT! I'm only a beginning violist, but I like the etudes so much, that I already ordered a copy at my local music shop ... apparently it's only a part one ... does part one contain all eight etudes shown here? Why isn't number five here? Will a score of the Marain-Knox Follia be available as well? I want to say which one my favourite is, but it just changes every time I listen and watch. I'm definitely checking the cd as well! Thank you for sharing this.
