I like how unique your list is. You don't see a lot of that usually, especially in the animation circles. Here's mine. 21) The Good Dinosaur (I almost fell asleep lol) 20) The Incredibles 2 (Saw a chunk of it and turned it off. Wasn't as good as #1) 19) Brave (It was okay, nothing special) 18) Toy Story 4 (decent but felt tacked on to the trilogy, story was weak) 17) The Incredibles (It's really good but not my favorite) 16) Cars 2 (I like this more than other people do, a decent spy flick) 15) Inside Out (Ending was a bit weak to me but I loved most of it) 14) Coco (This was such a sweet movie) 13) Up (I really love this movie but like Incredibles, not my favorite) 12) Monsters Inc. (Pete Doctor is a God) 11) Monsters University (I love the message of this one, it's realistic) 10) Cars (Really fun and meaningful, don't get the hate) 9) Finding Dory (Chillingly amazing, especially the last scene. Beautiful) 8) Cars 3 (Amazing send off to Cars. Good commentary on new generation) 7) A Bug's Life (A true animated epic. Classic.) 6) Wall-E (Masterpiece of a film. Truly inspiring) 5) Toy Story 3 (Amazing and utterly jaw dropping. It hits deep) 4) Toy Story 2 (The screenplay is pure genius. It's so fucking funny and emotional simultaneously) 3) Finding Nemo (One of the best animated stories ever told. Emotionally swelling epic) 2) Ratatouille (Masterpiece about art and criticism. Beautiful.) 1) Toy Story (The best animated film ever made. 80 minutes of perfection and genius writing)
This video is so good, very insightful. This is what I have been waiting for, I love multi-media companies and their stories of how they came to be. Keep up the great work! Favorite Pixar Movie : Wall-e
Infectedstyles_Chris Yes it’s my opinion. Toy Story 3 was ok but it broke my heart because Andy gave up his childhood and it broke the promise that no toy gets left behind. Toy Story 4 was better than Toy Story 3 in my opinion.
Jobs always was a pretty good visionary! I always admire people who put their own money in a company that is bleeding money because they just know it will end up working out in the end.
I remember my first exposure to computer animation. The year was 1985, and saw the debut of Dire Straits music video "Money For Nothing". And in 1985, that blocky animation was considered revolutionary and floored EVERYONE.
I love this story, and theres so much more to it as well. Like the drama between disney and pixar after the 5 movie deal over toy story 2 being a sequel and not couting. They almost spill ways with disney owning all the films and was going to make lower budget sequels not made by pixar. Then disney and pixar talked and then was bought.
Wall-E. Hands down the best. The first act being essentially a silent film, followed by a great build up to a supremely satisfying end. The animation is also top notch. Honorable mentions definitely go to The Incredibles, Inside Out and Coco, but pretty much every Pixar movie has been spectacular with the exception of The Good Dinosaur and Cars 2. Let's not forget that since John Lasseter took over Disney's animation we've seen the likes of Tangled, Frozen, and Moana, which all make my best all time list.
That would be crazy but no doubt it would look good if not amazing. Not a big fan of mordern animations don't hate it but sometimes it feels out of place.
Oh I remember when Pixar announced a new movie, it was a huge event every year, now for some reason their movies don't have the same effect in my opinion (except for Coco and Inside Out).
I don't know how I found this channel. I don't know who the narrator is. I imagine it's some kid doing a college research project and did an over the top presentation. Repeat viewing for almost all of them. Everything you just mentioned I've seen at least 2 or 3 times. Toy Story 2 I used to watch on repeat when I was younger.
Up makes my wife cry so much that she’s only seen it twice. She doesn’t like to be put through those emotions often. No other Pixar movie has achieved such an emotional impact on anyone that I’ve ever seen. Simply, a masterpiece ❤️
Pixar had some great films! I loved watching them all with my sons! I have a Finding Nemo sleeve, it's not finished but it was for my sons to remember the difficult times in the beginning. Their mom left then died, but we did find our "Dory"! Anyway it's kinda fun to get judged by old ladies for having tattoos and then they see no evil or skulls, only Nemo and Bruce and they are confused. Then they feel really bad once you explain the reasons behind your tattoos. But anyways Pixar is rad!
I remember reading a book all about Pixar- I think it was The Pixar Touch (not sure, the cover was all white and it the ending chapter mentioned about how Katzenberg's contributions was 'edited' out the publicity materials after his stunt with antz) and always wanted an update on this animation company that did what other films couldn't- make me love the movies that got me crying
Those early computer works were Amiga 1000's (aka Video Toasters in disguise) at the time... If you're familiar with a little Sci Fi show called Babylon 5, they also used Video Toasters, and that was the first show at the time to use a completely computer generated character with live actors for tv and 3D space scenes for the show......
I got to say you may not get a lot of views like these big you tubers but I actually look forward to watching your videos more than anyone else that I'm subscribe to. Keep doing what you’re doing and thank you for educating me every time that I watch one of your videos!!!! @@JeanetteIsabelle I have to agree with you. Cars 2 was no masterpiece, but it was fun to watch. Monsters University was just bad. I saw it once shortly after it came out on DVD, and I've never seen it again since.
I love Pixar, I've watched their films ever since I could remember. My family has the VHS films of Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo (we got a DVD player later on). Every time a Pixar film came into theatres, my brother, dad and I would watch it and enjoy it so much. It's a shame that Lasseter is the person he is, because his mind made my childhood. Still, the creative team in Pixar made something special with their movies, especially from 1995-2010. My Ranking of Pixar Films: 1. Ratatouille 2. Finding Nemo 3. WALL-E 4. Coco 5. Toy Story 2 (this was my #1 for a long time before rewatching some of them) 6. Inside Out (this was briefly my #1 when it came out) 7. The Incredibles 8. Up 9. Toy Story 10. Toy Story 3 (#19? Really? I know it's overrated but it's still amazing) 11. Incredibles 2 12. Toy Story 4 13. Finding Dory (how on earth can you rank that #3? It was great, but there are better Pixar films) 14. Cars 15. Cars 2 (this excludes films I haven't seen in a while (so my memory is bad for them), if at all): Monster's Inc (I think I've watched it, but I don't remember much) A Bug's Life (ditto, even though I have the VHS tape) Brave (first Pixar film I didn't watch in theatres after the Cars 2 debacle; didn't watch) Cars 3 (didn't watch) Monsters University (didn't watch) The Little Dinosaur (didn't watch)
You should've added that the Pixar team wrote the rough scripts for their first handful of movies, basically all the way up to WALL-E with a few exceptions, in a single afternoon. They got together for lunch after Toy Story was finished, and over the course of a few hours they came up with the stories for A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Monster's Inc, and WALL-E. Rumor has it that this lunch took place at Fenton's Creamery in Oakland, CA, which is why Fenton's is featured in movies like Up.

I love the Incredibles. Say what you want about Steve Jobs, the man had an eye for the future.
We might have never been able to see Toy Story 2 because it was accidentally deleted. Thankfully one on the animator was working from home and had the raw file saving the film.
I wouldn't be the man I am today
Growing up with monsters Inc, always blew my mind. A VHS, with such high quality animation was just so cool to me. It still is, just watched it on VHS and again am blown away by the quality they nailed back then.
Can you do a video on the Microsoft zune
Pixar is hands down The Greatest Animation Studio Of All Time.
Just here for my usual request... How Target failed in Canada and/or other failed international expansions 😃
Luke Rinderknecht target got saved here in the US barely
ruclips.net/video/ohXYR69UhxI/видео.html, best video right now about it
@@dolphinsandislanders6291 thank you. I've seen that video but imo he doesn't really do any analysis or provide real insight, just kinda says it wasn't Target's fault and that "Canada is a terrible market for retail". I don't buy this, and i don't think Loblaw's, Walmart, Costco or Canadian Tire would either.
There's quite a bit more to the story; this is a really good article which paints a bigger picture of some of the errs internally: www.canadianbusiness.com/the-last-days-of-target-canada/
Luke Rinderknecht that’s why I said right now
Dolphins and Islanders was just gonna say that 😂
Wall-E is my favorite. Such a cute memorable film.
Finding nemo is adorable galore and cutest thing ever at the time, and I never thought it can be out cuted. Pixar came close with inside out then managed to succeed with finding dory.
Glad you picked up on the Star Trek animation - most people don't know that's one of the earliest works of Pixar.
I like how unique your list is. You don't see a lot of that usually, especially in the animation circles. Here's mine.
21) The Good Dinosaur (I almost fell asleep lol)
20) The Incredibles 2 (Saw a chunk of it and turned it off. Wasn't as good as #1)
19) Brave (It was okay, nothing special)
18) Toy Story 4 (decent but felt tacked on to the trilogy, story was weak)
17) The Incredibles (It's really good but not my favorite)
16) Cars 2 (I like this more than other people do, a decent spy flick)
15) Inside Out (Ending was a bit weak to me but I loved most of it)
14) Coco (This was such a sweet movie)
13) Up (I really love this movie but like Incredibles, not my favorite)
12) Monsters Inc. (Pete Doctor is a God)
11) Monsters University (I love the message of this one, it's realistic)
10) Cars (Really fun and meaningful, don't get the hate)
9) Finding Dory (Chillingly amazing, especially the last scene. Beautiful)
8) Cars 3 (Amazing send off to Cars. Good commentary on new generation)
7) A Bug's Life (A true animated epic. Classic.)
6) Wall-E (Masterpiece of a film. Truly inspiring)
5) Toy Story 3 (Amazing and utterly jaw dropping. It hits deep)
4) Toy Story 2 (The screenplay is pure genius. It's so fucking funny and emotional simultaneously)
3) Finding Nemo (One of the best animated stories ever told. Emotionally swelling epic)
2) Ratatouille (Masterpiece about art and criticism. Beautiful.)
1) Toy Story (The best animated film ever made. 80 minutes of perfection and genius writing)
The good dinosaur is good
@@LegendOnYT1 I didn't like it personally.
Ok I respect your opinion
This video is so good, very insightful. This is what I have been waiting for, I love multi-media companies and their stories of how they came to be. Keep up the great work!
Favorite Pixar Movie :
Wall-e
Toy Story 3 is legit the only movie to make me tear up...
Infectedstyles_Chris Toy Story 3 was terrible
Matty Iannielli Your opinion.
Infectedstyles_Chris Yes it’s my opinion. Toy Story 3 was ok but it broke my heart because Andy gave up his childhood and it broke the promise that no toy gets left behind. Toy Story 4 was better than Toy Story 3 in my opinion.
@@mattyiannielli2067 I mean he was going to college
A Bugs Life is still my favorite Pixar movie. I have it on Blu Ray and still enjoy it very frequently.
Recomend all of them but cars 2 what about the good dinosaur
I love this story, and theres so much more to it as well. Like the drama between disney and pixar after the 5 movie deal over toy story 2 being a sequel and not couting. They almost spill ways with disney owning all the films and was going to make lower budget sequels not made by pixar. Then disney and pixar talked and then was bought.
Ace the Dolphin Guy weren’t there a few actually made by another company? I think Planes wasn’t made by Pixar
Anna Kathryn Hodgman-Burns yep, planes was not pixar, spin off made by disney
I'm happy to be the only person who likes Cars 2. I get all the DVDs and BluRays.
I like it also, but it's not as good as the first
Let's not forget that since John Lasseter took over Disney's animation we've seen the likes of Tangled, Frozen, and Moana, which all make my best all time list.
haha imagine if he animated the whole thing from a pixar characters view
That would be crazy but no doubt it would look good if not amazing. Not a big fan of mordern animations don't hate it but sometimes it feels out of place.
Oh I remember when Pixar announced a new movie, it was a huge event every year, now for some reason their movies don't have the same effect in my opinion (except for Coco and Inside Out).
I'd prefer Cars 2 over The Good Dinosaur, Brave, or those two that are coming out this year
Yep. Inside Out is definitely my #1 fav
You know what's a fantastic story? Pontiac.
11:37 The Rise and Falls Of Funko...
The one we've all been waiting for!!
Yes! Inside Out is massively underrated. It is an amazing piece of cinema!
Toy story was out a day before I was born lol
I don't know how I found this channel. I don't know who the narrator is. I imagine it's some kid doing a college research project and did an over the top presentation. Really quality and interesting stuff especially as I don't really care about any of the companies he talks about. Oddly one of my favorite channels.
Hmmm Cars and Monsters Inc above Toy Story 2 and The Incredibles 'eh? Was your list based on one time viewing or repeat viewing experience?
I appreciate the time and research you put into making these videos! Here’s a big ol kiss 💋
Jay Tee Kay Mwah 💋
Gaaaayyy
Rex 😘 I added some tongue to that one ;)
Those early computer works were Amiga 1000's (aka Video Toasters in disguise) at the time... If you're familiar with a little Sci Fi show called Babylon 5, they also used Video Toasters, and that was the first show at the time to use a completely computer generated character with live actors for tv and 3D space scenes for the show......
My all-time favorite Pixar movie? Monsters, Inc.
I got to say you may not get a lot of views like these big you tubers but I actually look forward to watching your videos more than anyone else that I'm subscribe to. Keep doing what you’re doing and thank you for educating me every time that I watch one of your videos!!!! Side note my favorite video is the one on Kmart because our Kmart is closing in February and I watched it back when you first made the video and I appreciate the background on why everything was happening and now I can educate others as I’m walking through Kmart and I actually send them to your video when they’re wondering why all this is happening.
Never been this early! Go Company Man!
I oddly remember Tubby the Tubba. It was shown in Music class when I was in Kindergarten.
Despite Cars 2, Pixar has an amazing track record. The perfect combination of state-of-the-art technology and solid storytelling. Except Cars 2.
ALL of the cars movies are garbage.
Cars was a mistake
Cars and cars 3 are just master pieces but then again im a car guy so of course i would say that
Hey! Cars 2 was decent... I grew up watching it..
Pretty bold of you to include Brave and The Good Dinosaur in your recommendations.
I wish computer generated image animation isn’t a considered a ‘cartoon.’
Because, computer animation is a lot more different than traditional (Or hand drawn) animation where it shows realism.
see love death and robots on netflix. youre welcome.
My favorite Pixar film is Ratatouille. Remember seeing it in theaters as a kid with my grandparents. Feels like an indie films almost, also it has a real powerful core
Steve Jobs was literally a GOD who saved Pixar and created our childhoods and movies that we can STILL find interest in today.
Finding Dory at number 3? The Good Dinosaur above Toy Story 3? You have some... unique tastes there my friend.
Toy story has got to be it. Classic. Now my kids love it too. This is a story i would love to see dramatized in a movie one day
Cleetus Vonbehren The story behind Toy Story
Well do you
That message at the end is so inspiring wow. Thanks.
Also, what? Hows Brave number 18? Its easily my top 5 along with Coco, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, and Toy Story 3 (also did the ending not make you cry?)
"To Infinity and beyond"

Do Dreamworks next!
My 10 Favorite Pixar movies:
1. Inside Out
2. WALL-E
3. The Incredibles
4. Toy Story 2
5. Finding Nemo
6. Toy Story 3
7. Coco
8. Toy Story
9. UP
10. Bug Life
i'll have you know that chicken little and meet the robinsons are two of the most underrated Disney movies [that i know].
ummm the good dinosaur, and monsters university are among cars 2
DuzMachines monster university was decent in my opinion, not as good as monsters inc but not as bad as cars 2
@@joshuajoe1419 Monsters University is worse than Cars 2. Cars 2, at least, provided mindless entertainment.
In Monster U's defense, I will give it the credit that it deserves. It has one of the best scenes across the entire board. Mike puts everyone to shame by pulling off the greatest scare that the University has ever seen.
@@JeanetteIsabelle I have to agree with you. Cars 2 was no masterpiece, but it was fun to watch. Monsters University was just bad. I saw it once shortly after it came out on DVD, and I've never seen it again since.
7:00 those two lifesavers doing the bump and grind is making me physically ill
I'm early in the comments for ONCE, please show me love people
Congrats me too brother
Aeugh
Nobody cares if your early
I love Pixar, I've watched their films ever since I could remember. My family has the VHS films of Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo (we got a DVD player later on). Every time a Pixar film came into theatres, my brother, dad and I would watch it and enjoy it so much. It's a shame that Lasseter is the person he is, because his mind made my childhood. Still, the creative team in Pixar made something special with their movies, especially from 1995-2010.
My Ranking of Pixar Films:
1. Ratatouille
2. Finding Nemo
3. WALL-E
4. Coco
5. Toy Story 2 (this was my #1 for a long time before rewatching some of them)
6. Inside Out (this was briefly my #1 when it came out)
7. The Incredibles
8. Up
9. Toy Story
10. Toy Story 3 (#19? Really? I know it's overrated but it's still amazing)
11. Incredibles 2
12. Toy Story 4
13. Finding Dory (how on earth can you rank that #3? It was great, but there are better Pixar films)
14. Cars
15. Cars 2
(this excludes films I haven't seen in a while (so my memory is bad for them), if at all):
Monster's Inc (I think I've watched it, but I don't remember much)
A Bug's Life (ditto, even though I have the VHS tape)
Brave (first Pixar film I didn't watch in theatres after the Cars 2 debacle; didn't watch)
Cars 3 (didn't watch)
Monsters University (didn't watch)
The Little Dinosaur (didn't watch)
You should've added that the Pixar team wrote the rough scripts for their first handful of movies, basically all the way up to WALL-E with a few exceptions, in a single afternoon. They got together for lunch after Toy Story was finished, and over the course of a few hours they came up with the stories for A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Monster's Inc, and WALL-E. Rumor has it that this lunch took place at Fenton's Creamery in Oakland, CA, which is why Fenton's is featured in movies like Up.
I love your channel. Please don’t stop!
My favorite Pixar films are as follows. Brave. That is the list.
Awesome video and love that you included the beginning of Pixar happening at NYIT. I graduated from there myself and never heard much about that detail until recently.
