I just showed this to my 91 year old Mum. She was at the Cape from 1935 until 1945 because they didn't move families around during the war. She loved seeing your video and commented on all the views and old images. It was lovely for her.

Bloody good video mate! I hope people appreciate the fact that you not only walked the 8hr track, but you went back and fourth to capture walking shots aswell. 👍😍

Excellent video. Camera was held steady - no quick landscape swing-arounds 🤢 Great map graphics, history and information. I use a similar format for my own videos, so appreciate the work required to produce a product like this. Thank you! 👍

This tramp is one of the best in the country - since first doing this with the Glendowie college tramping club in 1989 when the original track didn't even follow the ridge out there (and only making it as far as Deep Water cove) we managed to get out there a number of times through the 1990's with friends. Before the refit the hut even had a claw foot bath and a flush toilet and the kitchen still had those deep flour draws and classic formica tables. If doing the track I'd recommend taking the full set up of flippers, goggles and snorkel to enjoy the channel which has as much fish life as Goat island. Also you can climb up the rock across the channel - there's even a fence post at the top and awesome views across to Percy Island. And to the Maori lads who re-built the track ka pai...

Really helpful, I'm looking into predator proof fences and your video has helped me confirm what type this is, cheers!
