    After driving my ram 2500 cummins for 7 years i come to realize that i have not once ever come close to maxing the capacity on it the DEF was annoying and the emissions crap giving issues here and there wer also annoying and pulling up to rural gas stations that didnt have deisel was also annoying i now have the 2022 power wagon although the fuel mileage suffers as compared to the diesel i love this thing much much more and its more go my liking and the softer suspention was definately noticable in a good way!!

    Great video. I bought one of these for use on our ranch. It allows me to haul hay and equipment anywhere, like muddy or snow covered roads or even across pastures. You can get a factory winch for the 6.4, but since it’s already set up for one, just buy a Warn and put it in yourself or get your local 4X4 shop to do it for half the price. I also have a Power Wagon for use on the ranch. 10,000lbs towing doesn’t sound like much, but I can load 6 1000 pound bales of hay on a 3500 lbs trailer and haul them across 50 acres of pasture without any issue. Best work truck I’ve ever owned. The 6.4 Hemi mated with the ZF8 transmission is an absolute bulletproof combination.

    I hated the plastic hood air vents on my Ram 1500. The water never stops coming out of them after you wash the truck. New HD Ram doesn’t have them, thank goodness. I have them in my Rubicon but they’re counter-sunk and they don’t spray as much water out after the car wash. Great truck though. I’m good with my Limited Longhorn over the Rebel.

    Interesting reading the comments, most if not all will never buy one. I ordered mine yesterday and granted I expect majority of the time to be street driven, however the main reason I am getting it is for it's towing ability. Which is over 17000 pounds (gas) I have a boat that's a tad over 10000 with fuel and when the hurricanes come I gotta get it off the lift and on higher ground. And the truck has all the means to do it and creature comforts.

    Not sure why you and Tim from pickup truck plus suv talk say that the gas heavy duty trucks get about the SAME gas mileage. The gas gets 11 to 13 and the diesel gets 17 to 20. It’s a huge difference.

    I'm super torn. I'd like to upgrade my truck 1/2 ton to a 3/4 or one ton Hd. In the next few years. The trouble is I really want a diesel but I could get away with a gasser , say the bigger v8 out of Gm or the hemi on a dodge. Less maintenance. But wanna tow or have the capacity to tow safely more than my current half ton can. What are your thoughts, maybe a video? Non biased

    • @therealmccoy9031
      @therealmccoy9031 Год назад +2

      I use both gas and diesel trucks. And both have their pros and cons, if you’re towing heavy on a regular you can justify the diesel. But the newer gas trucks are very capable as well. I have a 21 F250 with the 7.3 gas and the 4.30 rear and it tows well for what it is and I’ve been very happy with it. Upfront cost was significantly less than the diesel and it does everything I need it too.

    • @dandennis8465
      @dandennis8465 Год назад +3

      I love my diesel when towing as I can pass comfortably while going up a highway hill. My diesel is 20 yrs old and is pre emissions so it gets great fuel mileage. The upcharge for a diesel can buy lots of gas however knowing I have the power is great.

      I have owned a 2001 2500 SRW with Cummins, 2011 3500 SRW with Cummins, and and a 2022 dually H.O. Cummins. There are a lot of factors in my opinion to consider, such as the maximum weight of trailer you will pull, how often, and the road and traffic conditions. I would get a gas engine if the trailer weight was in it's comfortable capacity, as a bonus the gas trucks have a higher payload in otherwise identical trucks. If you need/want to tow heavy, the diesels are nice, but they cost more up front and will take more money for fuel. Personally, I would go straight to a 1 ton from a 1/2 ton, I can't see any significant advantage to a 3/4 ton except the ride may be a little better than the 1 ton.

    • @t1nt0p
      @t1nt0p Год назад +5

      Diesels are expensive to maintain and have a much larger initial cost. Don’t waste time with a 3/4 diesel, the gassers are more than capable in that range. If you really want the diesel go 1 ton, even if for payload alone.

      Not everyone can afford 1 vehicle for getting groceries, another vehicle for driving to work, and another vehicle for dropping off kids at a soccer game. Until everyone becomes a millionaire most people have to use what they can afford to do multiple things….. such as me….my Tundra takes me to work, kids aren’t old enough yet to play sports but will be used some to drop them off at sports, and occasionally a grocery getter(my wife’s vehicle is the grocery getter). Almost forgot it also pulls trailers to the scrap yard frequently and hauling off limbs and occasionally getting long pieces of lumber. Until I’m a millionaire like you my Tundra will serve all me for all those purposes!

    Nice truck! Good Review.
    What I’d like to see is a ride comparison between the 1 ton SRW diesel short bed trucks. Perhaps input from your wife on the 3. My application is a 36 ft 5th wheel. I’d also like to see GRAW ratings between the three. There has been some discussion that some of the trucks allow for a more complete turn based on hitch location in the bed and cab configuration.
