@@hd-xc2lz Judging from some of the other interviews, that's kind of the point. He'll highlight it further by asking some really mundane question after 'Who Cares?'. It's a joke guys, come on.
I don’t think enough people are understanding how intense jeselniks comedy is, Like watch him with any other guest, he’s incredibly crude and makes a rape joke every special he gets, Kristen takes it all well and dishes it all back just as intense
Sorry, but his stage schtick is hampering him here. He will get cancelled real soon if he doesn't better engage with his guests. Has to mix it up more, still do the edgy material, but also be the guy one would expect if having a beer together at the bar.
Kristen Schaal is funny in everything I have ever seen her in. but this was wrong Anthony Jeselnik jokes fell flat most of the time and she looked at him like "how do I make this funny now"
Previous segment offered had better back and forth between Kristen and Anthony. But here we have Anthony forcing the comedic set-ups too often, he looks uncomfortable delivering them, seemingly realizing mid-utterance that this material worked wayyyy better on paper. Can't see this show lasting much longer, he kinda needs broaden his interview persona beyond that of his stand up, engage more with guest.
Have never seen this guy before this video.. but he was a complete douchebag.. it was like a mini "roast" ..he was not funny or likable.. how does he have a show?! But I also feel that way about Andy Cohen 🤷
It seems like a reboot of the eric andre show but twice as mean and half as funny. Also kristin schall is an angel who is way funnier than him. Picking her to try and be a dick to wont really get laughs.
They either need a real studio audience or no background laughs because that inconsistent laughter from the crew makes for a lot of awkwardness during parts that would normally be funny. Saying that as a huge fan of Schaal and Jeselnik.
@@glynnrudolph2336 Nah, just want the show to do well. Leaving it unclear to the average viewer whether the host and guest are bombing with their own crew makes for awkward viewing that pulls you out of the moment. I'd rather have no laughter than laughs one minute for an ok joke and no laughs the next minute for a better joke. It's just off putting.
This woman has terrified me for years and I'm 26 now. I saw her on an episode of the legendary show Human Giant and before that on other various comedy shows. Since then I have been terrified of her.
Jimmy Mora he acts like that around everyone. just judging off this interview & him talking about it on JRVP, i think their relationship is actually pretty good 🙂
This one fell flat compared to most of the others. I love them both but it didn't quite work here, almost like someone going to a roast that didn't know it was a roast. I think it'll work more if the Anthony jokes aren't as frequent, instead of responding with a mean joke every statement let it breathe a little then hit them. It'll add more substance to the interview, plus it becomes more of a game of what dumb thing will set me up for the joke rather than there being a joke every statement.
Couldn't agree more. It seems he doesn't trust that the CC audience knows his material, like he's intro-ing himself through this chat show, rather than the guest.
I’ve only seen a few clips of this interview but I feel like she goes in and out of being sincere. I’m thinking this clip was first and the one they posted a few days ago was later in the interview .
She's a worthy adversary, this battle was legendary.
The Great Anthony Jeselnik was outfoxed by Schaal on several of his questions.
"So. You have a one year old daughter." "Ohhh no! I do!?"
*and a half*
She's brilliant! I can tell she's being doing a lot of improv training; seems a lot faster than Jeselnik.
maybe she is just better
Lee Mack is the King of quick thinking
@@liamjohnstone1062 Sean Lock is quick too.
Especially considering his bit is entirely rehearsed, presumably hers is spontaneous
The eye flutter at 4:21 is a perfect rejoinder.
Lmfao the “Who Cares” stamp got me 🤣🤣🤣
Kristen is so adorable
Schaal is America’s sweetheart
Negative... Shes a cabbage patch doll come to life. Creepy as hell.
I still remember the mattress bit fondly.
I love her. This interview was great, I felt like I was watching a mountain being formed
I would kill for a rom com featuring these two.
Nobody has ever made him seem less rude until now. She got him. Dayum
I friggin LOVED the mattress bit! I am one of those people who still has that special on my HD and play it for my friends.
He needs to get Bill Burr or Chris D'Elia on this show! It would be amazing.
BobbyGenesis Burr is way funnier but sure, Chris could make bro voices
Chris D’Elia isn’t funny or entertaining tho
Bill Burr would destroy him, because Bill is funny, is clever and isn’t an arsehole.
Bill is always great on a show but he wont like Jeselnik trying to make him inferior.
Jim Jefferies
Ohhhhhhh!!! She went right with him. That was great! I want more
Kristen is insanely adorbs...
When he smiles I get scared.
I love her so much!! she's always hilarious
We need more seasons Comedy Central and we need more clips
Anthony Jeselnik is so beautiful.
She burned him HARD! 🤣🤘🔥
She was super funny in Flight of the Conchords and in The last man on earth.
The one question that was actually interesting, about her farm life upbringing, gets axed.
Agreed. I don't get it, and you can bet that Kristen has some good material on that.

I know that’s the point. You’re right. But I’m saying that’s a problem with comedy today in many circles. “Bad is good.”
It’s not.

I love this duo! So funny!😊❤️ I'd love to know how she got into voice acting
that seems pretty obvious
I’m guessing it’d be the voice.
Hmm, name of class taken that resulted in this voice? What book guided her towards this particular vocal tone?
@@hd-xc2lz here's a crazy thought. that's her natural voice..

She’s probably the most brilliant female comic out there these days.
5:09 I gotta really look inside my soul then
THIS SHOW IS SO GREAT!
i LOVE YOU Kristen Schaal, you are boss!
Jeselnik needs to go on Hot Ones
He is so attractive god damn
You know what would be a good show with these two? Some sitcom about a funeral home like a brother and sister or cousins inherit a funeral home
She really nails it with the cheese sticks rant...we really do go over-the-top with the sauce :-P
He's got a John Malkovich way of speaking to me. I'm from Philly and the fact she guessed Pitts is crazy. I'd have never guessed.

The Kristen Schall-you can eat buffet
She's got a point about needing dip for the cheese sticks. #lookinsideyoursoul
My wife and I never did the baby-voice thing that I can recall. I attribute that to my kids' prodigious (that means biggy biggy big) vocabulary.
