Definitely! Those were the best American Idol times for sure with the OG judging panel. Me & my family never missed an episode of Idol, and we were always so invested in the competition and the contestants every season. The most memorable contestants anyway. It was so much fun watching all the best contestants journeys from the very beginning, and then watch them develop into huge stars!
His voice has so much resonance it is CRAZY. I am a vocal coach and I assure you that David Cook is one of the best singers to ever come out of AI. His voice is huge, and ringing with overtones, and the vibrato is perfect and the voice is so FREE. Amazing.
I met him after his Chapel San Francisco performance this last year....and I have to say, even though it was a small venue on a Thursday night, he blew me away! His vocals were incredibly in person, and he made it one of the best concerts I've been to in years. And when I met him he was such a down to earth guy, we compared tattoos, and had a few laughs...a genuinely talented singer and performer. I hope more people begin to support his career.
From looking back and knowing that he won, it's very interesting to think what David was thinking when he auditioned. He said "I think my voice is strong enough to carry me through, it's just a matter of what they are looking for" don't butcher me on the quotes, I tried to type what he said but I don't know if I got it word for word. What he said was pretty humble though. I love his voice and think it's amazing but he essentially said that he thinks that he could make it but it's a matter of what the judges think and that still strikes me today! David Cook's voice is amazing and he knew that he had a good voice, but he basically said that it was a matter of what other people thought about it and that just interests me. If you are sure that you are good at something, try it out, it's other people that will shut you down if you aren't good enough. Don't let yourself shut you down
I will always love this man's voice....lots of power behind his voice and is always in tune. I truly believe he is one of the best if not the best to come out of Idol. I'm impressed with how smart he is too. He's got 6 years of college under his belt.

love him. love his music. he is truly a gifted, talented musician! im sure ill always be a fan and im beyond thrilled that i can get to say ive seen him in concert and it was perfection. he was hilarious charming and so incredible. the fact that he writes his own songs is great! he is a TRUE musician and truly incredible person. every time you turn around someone is saying how incredibly well rounded and sweet and just humble he is. plus i love his dedication to raising funds to fight cancer. it shows he's a humanitarian and thats great. David Cook has been performing since he was 15 yrs old and I think he's more than paid his dues...He's an amazing,versatile, vocal talent who is working his ass off to provide the best music he can for his fans 4 yrs post idol, and that's part of reason he has parted ways with RCA, to do just that!

Alistair Cross That's what I don't like from shows like "The Voice" all auditions are done with a band or whatever and even the most mediocre voice can seem as a fantastic one when you do it like that. This some guy/girl singing on a room acapella reveals true voices.
