@dmon715 Vibrato isn't a post-production filter. It's a vocal technique for making a sustained note waver very quickly and consistently between a higher and a lower pitch, giving the note a slight quaver.
|Valyer| They look like weirdos with it, sorry to shit on your whole individuality speech you probably have prepared but if you have to wear make up to force being different, well you probably aren't.
christian nickens Just the same as Green Day during their American Idiot time, the wore eyeliner before. I think its on 2003 era, Emo days, everyone wears eyeliner even your mom
This isnt auto tuned at all you fucking clown, hes a step lower than the real version, but I have perfect pitch and he slipped on a few notes here, so not perfect , but its obviously not auto tuned
I'm so sick of Blink fans that can accept that Tom doesn't want to be in the band. I love Blink with Tom, and with Matt. I'm just glad Blink is finally able to get stuff done with a person who wants to get stuff done as well.
I'm a blink fan... I hadn't heard of Alkaline Trio before, but I'm sure as hell glad that Matt is in blink cause he is amazing and I have now heard of Alkaline trio :)
I never heard of this band before I came cause it says this guy Matt had another band which is this one but sorry we do need Tom back to Blink 182 cause the album Nine lyrics suck and I was hoping Matt has screwed Blink
Theyre going on tour here in like a month. tickets are still available. I personally will be seeing them in Columbus, OH. I, too, would sell a kidney. but turns out tickets are only like 30 bucks.
Aaaaaactually that's a band name... You at some point sat down and your username is the smartest thing you could come up with. I don't even need to continue.
Bands will usually tune their songs a 1/2 step or sometimes even a whole step down when vocals are too high for vocalists to sing. Matt Skiba is a great singer so that might not be the case, but for other bands they might tune down when they can't sing all the higher notes.
Everyone always says that about this performance (and this session in general). I think it's more likely that this song is in Matt's natural vocal range (it's an easy key for him to perform in) and he's not pushing himself much at all here vocally.
no they sell out stadiums, yah they play 500 capacity shows but all bands eventually do, hell fucking rise against while kind of shitty are undeniably one of the biggest bands out there right now and even they played at this place called rams head last year that only has a 300 capacity. They cant always get stadiums, Also notice that those 500 people shows teand to be sold out in a day. thats kind of a sign
go to 2:01 in, and when matt says the "you" part in "i lost my faith in you," you can hear some maddd autotune going on. you can hear it trying to pitch it up and down. sad.
Regardless for what reason, you cared enought to use what few braincells you have to string together what I'm guessing is the best witty comeback you could come up with in four months... lol
dude.....they have sold out stadiums in the UK, what part of worldwide popularity do you not get, hell they even have popularity in japan for fucks sakes.
no they arent, they really arent. they have reached major mainstream success, sold millions of albums and gotten praise from fans and critics alike as well as sold out basically every show they went to over the past few years. If you want to see what it really means to be under rated look uup a band called ghost ocean, or a band called lipona. thats under rated not this.
One of the most under-rated bands ever. Fact.
Derek is such an awesome drummer
"Grown to love your disappearing act, do one more pretty please"... I love that line sooooo very much :)
Me too. It describes my ex-gf perfectly.
First time hearing these guys play live - wow, didn't know they'd be this good!
I love watching the interviews where they talk about how they got the different sounds for their albums. They get really creative with it.
I prefer this endlessly to the original... Was made to be heavier, and the drum fill in the intro 👌
0:16 That drum intro tho
I just discovered this awesome song. Three Cheers for Alkaline Trio!!
prolly my fav song of theirs
Only 19k viewers!? Fuck you, modern "music" industry!!Love these guys!!
I fucking love Matt Skiba.
Best from them in their best moment.
What a song!
Derek chucked a towel or something on his snare for that bridge but to get a more muted sound! What a champ.
DUDE!!! Now I know how Derek got that sound from his snare during the bridge!! Words cannot describe how flippin cool that was!! :D
God i love this band
great singer
Great song!.
This tune!!
that was awesome.

It makes me happy that theyve accepted their adulthood and put away the eyeliner
|Valyer| They look like weirdos with it, sorry to shit on your whole individuality speech you probably have prepared but if you have to wear make up to force being different, well you probably aren't.
|Valyer| Never said it upset me, just saying its really a pointless thing to do.
christian nickens Just the same as Green Day during their American Idiot time, the wore eyeliner before. I think its on 2003 era, Emo days, everyone wears eyeliner even your mom
trumph77 Skiba still wears it sometimes
|Valyer| Who said it was? I personally love it.
Legend
Skiba can sing
+Oliver Sykes Well back in 2005 he could
+George Schmidt Unfortunately this is hideously auto-tuned.
+Will T will, even if that's true, Skiba is still my boy
Agreed
This isnt auto tuned at all you fucking clown, hes a step lower than the real version, but I have perfect pitch and he slipped on a few notes here, so not perfect , but its obviously not auto tuned
remember the pre crimson years?
good times.
Excellent sound. Just a little more on Dan and it would be perfect.
Live is even better
only 1 man in the world could pull off that sweater...
Just waiting for butt-hurt blink fans to stumble on this. This guy was a legend years before he filled in for that UFO hunting throbber.
I'm so sick of Blink fans that can accept that Tom doesn't want to be in the band. I love Blink with Tom, and with Matt. I'm just glad Blink is finally able to get stuff done with a person who wants to get stuff done as well.

hahaha yessss
THIS!!!!!
I'm a die hard blink fan. Working on finishing my half sleeve now, but I'm soooooooo happy skiba is with blink now
@WooldridgeDaniel I'm glad someone said it
those 9 dislikes are blink fans.
Christizzy386 I love blink and I didn't dislike this.
I never heard of this band before I came cause it says this guy Matt had another band which is this one but sorry we do need Tom back to Blink 182 cause the album Nine lyrics suck and I was hoping Matt has screwed Blink
apocalipcy1987able Skiba didn’t ruin blink, he doesn’t even have full creative control, it was Feldman and Mark
dereks drums are insane!!
Matt Skiba is amazing
Amazing

That Guitar Tone ooooooooo
Well over here in the UK they're under rated, this genre of music just isn't as popular unfortunately. So to me, yes, they are under-rated.
I didn't imagine he would look like this, from hearing his voice. o:
Aaaaaactually that's a band name... You at some point sat down and your username is the smartest thing you could come up with. I don't even need to continue.
frick these guys are good at playing music
good catch
Holy autotune Batman. I think Skiba can hold his own on the vocals there Mr. Soundguy.
thats how the beatles got their drum sounds
LOL,true that!:)
@dmon715 auto tune doesn't sound like that. that was just vocal vibrato.
Don't do that! A person with such awesome music taste as you can't!
💜
Derek at 2:20.
@dmon715 i think that was derek.. he usually sing in that part
♥♡♥♡♥
argyle!!
He’s tuned a 1/2 step down than the record

Wow, fuck off Matt that tone is legendary. Anyone know the set up? Looks like a Marshal head but I can't man out what the half stack is.
Sinny Fender Twin Reverb maybe? sounds fuckin awesome regardless haha
I'd sell a kidney if it meant seeing them live
Can't tell if Matt has perfect tone or if he's using auto tune...
Everyone always says that about this performance (and this session in general).
I think it's more likely that this song is in Matt's natural vocal range (it's an easy key for him to perform in) and he's not pushing himself much at all here vocally.
Or maybe it's because of that thingy in his ear; he can hear himself better and helps him sing better..
Leif Urdaneta
the original song is half step up than this version so both greg and you are right
yo can tell its his.. because theres a slight hiccup in the "where did you go" at one point. but its still an awesome session
Leif Urdaneta Just an FYI, it's called an in-ear monitor :) They work wonders for vocalists.
@aof36 or tightened it like heellll xD
epic
@maydecember513 Post-production filters. They should not be used to Alkaline Trio, ever.
@Scorch428: liar, i kick ass in argyle!

youre right, its mike fagan.
dude.....they have sold out stadiums in the UK, what part of worldwide popularity do you not get, hell they even have popularity in japan for fucks sakes.
I prefer when Tom Delonge was in the band
Sonic John :^)
+Oliver Sykes Dude, no. Tom was one of the best things that ever happened to pop punk
+Oliver Sykes take it easy man.
***** no way!
+Sonic John Matt Skiba filled in for Tom with Blink 182 for a while. Tom was never a part of Alkaline Trio.
Skiba does seem like he digs monogamy.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Modern "music" industry? What music?
what a great song. whaaat the worst sweater
that's an amazing sweater :)
I stopped reading when I saw your username...
