- Someone asked me a while back to do this one. My picking hand was not up to it at the time and I am talking specially about the sections at 1:46 and 3:00 in the time frame. In reviewing some of the videos by other players I saw only one other bass player adding the triplet in and he was doing it with his fingers however he had to use the three finger techniques to get it done and while it works it sounds funny since the song was played with a pick in the studio. IMHO that passage is impossible to play with only two fingers and is very difficult at speed even with a pick. Be that as it may, I think I was lucky to be able to get this video done in one take.
You finally got around to it Thanks Man, You Fuckin' Nailed It! Best cover faithful to the original. You really got your picking speed up to par, tone was spot on and those opening chords along with the thumping the open E are fucking deathly.
haha thanks. I tried. TO be honest, yes I got it all in there but it's a little shaky on that fast section. To be expected though. In doing some research on that section I discovered that Max fakes his way though it post 90's and I am not sure if Paulo Jr. ever did it live. As you may know Andreas Kisser recorded the bass tracks in the studio and plays those triplets as I have done here but I am not at all sure anyone else does did or does live. I had to back of the treble on the both pickups to get the tone to set in the mix right. I only saw Sepultura once in 1993 or 94 and I remember being impressed by Paulo's Picking hand but I was not very close. If a player does not do this live I don't think most people would notice over a big sound system.

This was awesome, man. You're right, no way anyone can play this two fingers. I can play a half time version in parts that would be passable, but it's not the same effect. I'm definitely going to get my pick playing developed. By the way, I've heard Andreas and Max played all the bass parts until ROOTS. I think Max stated it in an interview.
After reviewing Sep footage live I think they half time it now days. Last time they probably played it like the album was before Max left. I've seen Paulo pay this live and he pulled it off like the album and made it look easy but that was 1994

Really tight playing, the picking is spot on and you did great with adding the triplet at that fast riff.
Seeing your cover I question if that triplet section involved the second fret I am adding? Is it just open E?
I've always played it all open E but I might be wrong.
@@MLRiffage Sepultura is no help live as they dump that section down cause its way too fast to do that live.

Olá. Acho que a digitação no 1:30 está errada. Correto não seria: "sétima da corda lá, sétima da corda mi, oitava da corda mi, sexta da corda lá, sétima da corda mi e oitava da corda mi" ?!
No hay nada de malo en la sección de la 1:30, pero a la 1:46 no estoy tocando las notas correctas. Más tarde aprendí de la manera correcta y lo hago en un video en vivo con una banda tributo SUPULTRA. Realmente es solo abrir E y G a A sostenido.

I'm sure you are great at the bass and this is the first song I've heard you play.. uhh.. the song is awful.. but like i said the gear looks nice and you are probably awesome.

Well, Death's Lack of Comprehension. Maybe you can figure out the harmonics in the beginning and make my life easy since I am not sure how that is played. I don't think anyone's got it with the covers that are up now. I will be covering it when I get back from doing some work around my mom's place.

What honest criticisms can you offer on this bass cover and the playing? And can you point to another video up that is better?
