I, too, have the 80-400 on a D850. When I go out to the pond in the morning I set the shutter speed on 1/1000, f/5.6 and I usually shoot manual exposure. Lots of birds, waterfowl, herons, dragonflies, flowers, etc. so I don't know what I'm going to be shooting, but it will all be handheld. I've had this lens at least 5 years but didn't use it much until I got the D850 a few years ago. Now, I seldom take it off except during the warbler migration season in the spring when I use my 500 F4 G lens and shoot mostly from the cab of my truck. I use the 80-400 for almost everything else even though I have a Nikon 24-120 lens and a Nikon 105mm micro. The 80-105 is just so handy and versatile and it's light enough to carry and shoot with comfortably (I'm almost 80 years old now so that means something to me).
Thanks for watching and commenting Clifton. I just went into my photography studio and I'll give you two guesses what lens was sitting on my D850? Yep, the 80-400mm. It''s a great all round lens.
I have a Z5 and I bought this lens, I tried it with an adapter and it works spectacular, it took me a couple of years to find this wonder, it has been a good gift. Your help in the revised video helped me a lot to decide on the purchase, thank you very much.
Thanks for this review Adrian. As an underwater photographer, my lenses all tend towards the very wide end of things. On occasion, I would really like a long lens for topside shots. I'd been looking at a 200 - 500 to pair with my D500s, but after handling one, I realized it was just too big and too heavy to be dragging through the bush in British Columbia or hand-holding in a bouncing boat in Indonesia. I came across a gently used 80-400 and grabbed it while I could. It's significantly smaller and lighter and has lots of reach on a cropped sensor especially.
I had version 1, but sold it for version 2. I recently re-discovered my version 2 in a box in the storage room - I intended to sell it after buying a Sigma 150-600mm, but never got round to it. But recently I bought a D780 SLR, and decided to retry the 80-400 because it is easier to carry it around. I use it in similar ways to you. I have decided to leave the 150-600mm for the D500 when on tour (by car) for birds, wildlife etc, and the 80-400mm for easy everyday carry long distance use on the D780. With a wide-angle on my D810 for landscapes when touring, I've got all angles covered.
Hi I have this lens and I just don’t understand the negative sentiment Perfect length for kids sports at the long end portrait at the short end and landscape anywhere in between When you carry it around you don’t get noticed Use it on my D500 and my Z6ii Love it
Hi Adrian! Very nice lens!Fantastic video! It's wonderful video! Thank you for showing me the wonderful scenery! It was a very nice flight! Great high quality video! I really like it! Very interesting! Thank you for sharing! Have nice day!

Thank you so much! I have a photographer friend who was shooting a sporting event with this lens (right next to me) last weekend, and I was stunned by the clarity compared to my lens! Hi Adrian. Great review. I cannot make any decisions due to the confusion of a mindless amount of choices in cameras and lenses, and whether to go for M4/3 set up for lightweight portability, or stick to Nikon and use my D750

Ah Adrian thx for commenting a week ago. I did go look at your comparison. In the past week i been back n forth looking at other reviewers and their photo shoots over the uses of M4/3 set ups against Fx set ups and today I've put in my shopping basket for this lens to go with my D750. Full circle back to your review here and confirmed my choice. Purchase will have to wait a few months however, but thanks for this solid review! 👍🙏
I’ve been deciding between this and the 200-500. What gets me about the 200-500 is that it’s purely a wildlife lens, but I really want a hiking lens that can shoot short telephoto also because changing between two telephoto lenses in the field isn’t quick or easy. Also the bokeh between the two, the 80-400 clearly comes out on top. And I’ve come too really appreciate nano crystal coating/multi coating on my lenses. Used, the 80-400 is only a $100-200 more than the 200-500. I think if I can get the 80-400 used I’ll go for that, thanks to this video. 👍
Excellent review, sharp and to the point, Thanks. Have looked at this lens for sometime for the D850 but was hesitant. A question, what is the bag you use to carry both cameras with lens mounted? Looks quite interesting. Thanks
Loved the start - "what happened there Nikon?" Ha ha! Awesome review and fabulous range of shots from different places around the world to illustrate how it works. Really entertaining.
Hello Adrian when I saw your title I said oh wow perfect timing. I have recently purchased the Tamron 18-400 f/3.5 to 6.3 for Canon. I’m in the process of testing it out so far it’s been very versatile with that 18mm. I have taken some sport photos of my grandkids and they have really come out very good I’m still learning it’s capabilities and so far I haven’t taken it off my camera. Your images taken with that 80-400 are amazing hopefully I can get half of what yours look like. Have a great weekend my friend. 🙏🏼 📸
Thanks so much for watching. Your new lens sounds awesome and I'm glad you're enjoying it. That's certainly a great range of focal lengths you have from 18-400mm wow. Hope you have a great week my friend and take care 👍🙏📸
Thanks Phil. Yeah having a 77mm thread saves you lugging around all these different filters adaptor rings. I think the Sony 100-400mm GM lens is the same? Cheers, have a great week 👍🙏📸
Thanks for watching Paul. I remember tossing a coin on whether to take this lens or the Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 to Japan. I would have liked that little extra reach for photographing Mt Fuji, but the 200mm was better for bokeh on the cherry blossoms. 🙏
Thanks for this review, I currently have a Nikon D500 and use my 70-200 with a 1.7 teleconverter for reach but I'm not happy with the reach so I am looking at the 80-400 . a few of my friends own the 200-500 and love it but it's just too heavy for me to consider
Thanks for watching. Sounds like the 80-400mm would suit you. The 200-500mm is good, but big and bulky as you say. I got this lens for travelling and it was perfect. I used it recently in my latest video with my D750 for some landscape photography, worked a treat... ruclips.net/video/YP5merZOhF4/видео.html 🙏
Hi Adiran, @ 5:45 in your video, was this called the Devils Pulpit in Scotland? looked very familiar. Great video on the lens im thinking of purchasing one myself
It was great review. I have this lens for wildlife photography and I totally agree with your points!!!!! Unfortunately I can’t go for birding with this unlimited lockdown! Be safe!
I recently got a Nikon Z50 with the two lens kit (16-50mm and 50-250mm) and the only thing I'm really wanting is some more significant reach. Unfortunately there really aren't any telephoto lenses for the Z series, and I feel like those that are supposed to come out sometime in the near future may not be great options either. The 100-400 S line will certainly be out of my price range and the 200-600 will be ridiculously too big to put on the compact Z50. I just recently heard about this lens after looking at the F-mount nikkor 200-500mm and sigma/tamron 150-600mm and it seems like it may be a much better choice with the FTZ adapter.
Thanks for watching. I have used the 80-400mm with the Z6II and FTZ adaptor. Mmmm mmm? Well, it's a bit hit and miss to be honest. I hear Nikon are making a new FTZ adaptor and maybe that might make things better? Personally I think the Z lenses perform far better than adapted F lenses on the Z cameras. If the 100-400mm S lens is out of your price range, then I think the 80-400mm will be too. It would be slightly cheaper, but not by much I think. So I would just save my cash just a tad more and buy the 100-400mm S lens. I'm betting it'll be better optically and in image quality.
Hi Adrian, have you used this lens on the Z series camera bodies, ie. Z6 Z7 in particular.?? If so, what are your thoughts in regards to focus speed and accuracy ?? Reason for asking is, I'm thinking about dipping my toes into the Nikon mirrorless world. A small step at first, maybe the Z6, or Z6ii. The thought of maybe having to start changing from my F mount lenses to Z mount to be able to get the best out of the new system is daunting.
Hi John - I have used this lens on my Z7 as well as the 70-200mm F mount. You can see it in action in this video ruclips.net/video/NFp7RZWpMRo/видео.html. I think you will always get better (very slightly) performance from native Z mount lenses. Personally I’m waiting to see if a Z8 is released. Will see…
Thanks Adrian as I’ve recently been umming and arring whether to go for this lens (I don’t have anything for wildlife ) or whether to go (as you know) for the Z5. It’s a tough one but I’m still happy with my good old D5300 and the images I capture but really want to go full frame too 😂 decisions decisions 😂
Thanks for watching Andrew. Yeah I know it's tough when it comes to cameras and which one you go with. So many options out there. I'm sure whatever you end up with it'll do the job. Cheers mate 👍🙏📸

Great long term lens review Adrian, I can see why you love it. As always another great photography vlog and a big Like from me :)
Good review. Have been contemplating between 200-500 and 80-400. Kind of more inclined towards 80-400. The used prices have gone down since the launch of the Z version (100-400) which makes it a great buy at the current price point.
Hello friend, I bought the new version 80-400mm recently. I was interested to see that you didn't "stop down" the picture examples in this video, and took most of the pictures at 5.6. Are you ever tempted to drop down to 7.1 or 8.0 for sharpness? It doesn't seem that you need to, based on your awesome photos, but I find myself adjusting aperture up to 8.0 for sharpness, at least on my Nikon D500. Thanks!
It all depends on the time of day I’m shooting and what I am shooting. For example today I was photographing birds mostly sitting on trees. The aperture was around F7.1. The 80-400mm is excellent at all apertures. The sharpness difference isn’t really that massive at stopping down I personally found.
Great review & results...I love Nikon gear but I only have 70-300mm lens for my D500..as a hobbyist I am still learning photography & finance limits my choice of lens... Also my kit lens 18-55mm is used a lot... cheers..😀
Thanks for watching Robert. Much appreciated. I remember when I started off and slowly saved and bought my first full frame camera. Then came the lenses. It's fun and rewarding as you add to your gear. Have a great week 👍🙏
Seen this a few times now, I have the 80-400 adapted to my Z9 but I am interested in the Z 100-400 but I have not found a comparison between the two. It’s the autofocus speed that I am most interested in as well as the quality but if the images coming out of the 100-400 is not much better I will stick with my trusty 80-400. Have you done a comparison between the 2 ??
No I haven’t done a comparison but I’d like to. I dare say that Z 100-400mm would perform better natively on the Z9. How much though? But the big question is the image and performance worth the substantial price difference between the 2 lenses? Thanks for watching 🙏
@@adrianalfordphotography that is the question , how much better image wise, but I still feel the af performance speed wise of the 80-400 would be slightly better because of the stepping motor on the 100-400, but I don’t know!
Thank you for the review, beautiful shots! I understand any extending zoom lens will suck in dust but I've read on furms that this lens in particular is problematic in this regards, have you faced this issue? Did you ever need to have it professionally cleaned? Also, have you found the 400mm limiting for wildlife? Appreciate you're thoughts. Thanks
Thanks for watching. I have never had to have the lens pro cleaned. I only had the small issue once where I had a few grains of sand get in from shooting on the beach. But that sorted itself out with continual use. Because I'm using it on a 45MP D850 I crop in on my shots and only on a few occasions have I wished I had a 600mm lens. But I have to remember I bought this mainly for travelling. So I can't complain really. 🙏
Great stuff Adrian! Looks like a fantastic Nikon lens! Great images as always throughout this video. Looks like a very versatile lens, great for all sorts of styles of photography. Hope you are doing well down there!
Many thanks for watching Paul. I can't remember? Do you have the Sony 100-400mm GM lens? Heard so many good things about it. I think if I used Sony cameras I'd have that and the 16-35mm F2.8 GM and I'd be done. Hope you have a great weekend mate, cheers 👍🙏📸
@@adrianalfordphotography no, I currently have my 16-35, the 24-70 (which i rarely use), and the 70-300. I've looked at the FE 100-400 GM lens but can't justify it til I start traveling a bit more. Seems overkill here in Florida without the big open views. But definitely on my radar with some upcoming trips scheduled!
I was having issues with mine getting consistently sharp images when tripod mounted. I replaced the lens foot with a Kirk foot and instantly noticed sharper images. For the cost of this lens you would think Nikon could provide an adequate foot.
Many thanks for watching Mark. I think Nikon are too busy trying to catch up with their competitors focusing systems than worrying about a tripod foot. Have a great week 🙏
Thanks for watching. Yes I have tried this lens on a Z6II with the FTZ adaptor. For me, it was a bit hit and miss. But that could have been me not setting up the focus right on the Z6II? And it was done before they updated the firmware improving the focus. If I was a Z owner I would be waiting for the 100-400mm S line lens. I think the native Z mount lenses perform much better and are far more silent than the adapted lenses. 🙏
@@adrianalfordphotography thanks Adrian , all of the lenses I have work well with the ftz adapter, these are mainly Tamron G2, however my Nikon 200-500 f5.6 works well with my z6
Cheers Scott thanks for watching mate. A great all rounder lens. If I had a Sony camera I'd probably be going for something like your 200-600mm nowadays that I'm not travelling much due to the restrictions. Have a great week mate. 👍🙏📸
Thanks so much for watching Colin. It's been a great lens. I love how I can travel with it, that's the main thing. Hope you have a great weekend mate, cheers 👍🙏📸
Excellent long-term review Adrian! These are always my favorite types of reviews. There are 100 "spec" reviews that come out right after something is released but I always prefer the real-world extensive reviews. I myself have never owned a rather long zoom lens but I am quite curious about this new 100-400 that is on the roadmap. I seriously hope it's somewhat lightweight ;) I'm also considering looking at that 2x converter myself and just using my beloved 70-200 f2.8 VR S with the converter. Seems like a nice financial and weight compromise ;) Cheers and hope you are doing well!
Thanks so much for watching Rob. Yes that new 100-400mm has my interest. As you say it depends on the weight, but I dare say it will be heavy or same weight as this lens. I bet the optics will be sensational though being an S line lens. Team it up with the new Z9 coming out and bing bang boom, WOW! Have a great weekend Rob, cheers mate 👍🙏📸
Hi Adrian, this looks after a great lens. I also thought about getting the mentioned 100-400GM from Sony, but my gear budget for this year is already a bit exhausted :) Especially for wider areas in the mountains, a focal range up to 400mm can be quite interesting. Thank you for sharing your experience with your Nikon lens and nice greetings, Christian
Thank you very much for watching Christian. The Sony 100-400mm GM is such a beautiful lens. If I used Sony I would have that lens and the Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM. That's all I'd need I think. Hope you have a great weekend my friend, cheers 👍🙏📸
I'm about to buy a used combo which includes this lens with a Nikon D850 for 2k. I'm nervous because this lens I've seen for sale new for 2100 and it's selling to me for 500. Not to mention that D850 is going for 1500. Apparently because the seller has upgraded to mirrorless. Shutter count is only 14000. Fingers crossed🤞
Great review, I also have the D850 with this lens, its a great combo. My copy, I dont know if you have noticed also seems to back focus at closer objects under 20 meters towards the back only when set to Live view, have you noticed this ? And Unfortunately the front element has gathered a lot of dust (does not affect performance however, but is irritating), any ideas on how to clean it anyone ?. As to the autofocus with VR for birds in flight it does affect the final image sometimes, like a little ghosting so I switch it off, curious as to the active version mode why you have it set on that ?
@@adrianalfordphotography Thanks for the reply, re:Liveview no success with Nikon repair, must be a characteristic, was just asking if you had something similar. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching William. If I didn't need an all round lens for travelling I probably would have bought the 200-500mm. But happy with this lens for now. Cheers. 🙏
It was close but further west from where I was. Similar landscape though. Homestead scenes shot just east of Vik in Iceland. I’m at Hofn at 2:41 near Vestrahorn Mountain.
@@adrianalfordphotography Thanks for the info. Just picked up one of these used from a local shop. Mated with the FTZII and a Z9, it's working out really really well. Surprised at how much I prefer this lens over the 200-500 and the images are sharper. They also had a used Kirk NC-80-400GN replacement tripod mount/foot. Night and day difference from the OEM Nikon foot
I be owned a 80-400mm Nikkor lens and finally sold it. So much dust accumulated behind the front element. But it did take great photos and it was very versatile.
Great video and well explained on the 80-400mm . I currently have the 70-200 f2.8and thinking of changing for the 80-400mm . Id be interested on your thought on this please.
Nice review. This lens hasn't been off my D850 since I bought it a couple of months ago. I hand-hold it most of the time if my subject is moving. The lens is very manageable in size and weight. The AF is fast, at least for stills, and the glass is sharp. I thought long and hard about the 200-500mm but the 80-400mm is is obviously more versatile and is more suitable for my needs. Like you, when trekking around I typically carry 2 lenses max, with zero regrets. Well, in truth I would probably want more reach on occasion if I had a 600mm. :)
Hey that's awesome, thanks for letting me know your story with the lens and D850. Pretty dynamite combo. And yes, totally get the itch for that 600mm focal length. Thanks heaps for watching, cheers 🙏📸
I'm struggling with getting sharp detailed images from this lens for shooting wildlife with my Z7ii. When uploading them into my lightroom and zooming in the clarity just is not there at all even though I feel my settings are 'correct' and I know I had the shot in focus...im shooting in a difficult setting on a moving boat for marine wildlife (obviously tricky settings) but I have the VR and Active modes on and a high shutter speed. .. But I'm not getting sharp clarity at all and I don't understand why? I keep my settings at F5 / 5.6 iso as low as possible to avoid noise (between iso 100-500) but I'm really struggling with the lens at the moment! I've seen many positive reviews like yours and obviously it's a good lens and people seem to be getting sharp images with it but can't understand why I can't seem to get the detail in there 🙈 I've been googling and can't seem to find any useful tips so any advice would be absolutely amazing!
Have you calibrated lens using auto fine tune on camera? There are tutorials on RUclips how to do it. ISO I’d have between 100-2000. Also focus set to dynamic area af on small. It could be the FTZ adapter not working correctly too, is it updated to latest firmware? Maybe best to see a pro Nikon camera tech shop about it so they can sort for you.
I don't know as I don't have the lens to compare. But from reports from other photographers I know say it's slower in focus and the images aren't as sharp.
Yes it is. However the D5300 is an APS-C or DX camera. That means if you put this lens on it, it would crop in 1.5 times. So the lens would then become 120-600mm.
Thanks heaps for watching Andrew. Yeah having a large lens hood in Iceland saved my butt a number of times. Plus it stops lens flare a bit better. Cheers mate 👍🙏📸
Be interesting to see the new Nikon 100-400mm S line lens when it comes out for the Nikon Z cameras 📸🤙
It should be a great lens. However, I will need to wait until Nikon releases a Z camera suited for fast action wildlife.
I’m thinking of getting this for my d500
@@MSchumacherfan That makes two of us. Do you happen to know if this is a true 400mm or does it zoom out a little at 400?

Thanks for watching Peter. Yeah Iceland is such a surreal place. The black sand is awesome. Have a great weekend mate 🙏📸👍
@@adrianalfordphotography gonna rewatch your Iceland videos😃 thanks mate, you too!
Thank you, you helped me in making a purchasing decision on this Lens.
Thanks for watching Tony. Glad it was helpful. Have a great weekend 🙏
Great images and review, Adrian! I like the 77mm filter thread, my new Canon RF 100-500 is 77mm, that's really nice!
Thanks Phil. Yeah having a 77mm thread saves you lugging around all these different filters adaptor rings. I think the Sony 100-400mm GM lens is the same? Cheers, have a great week 👍🙏📸
Looks like a cracking lens Adrian. Nice review showcasing some fantastic shots there!
Thanks for watching Paul. I remember tossing a coin on whether to take this lens or the Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 to Japan. I would have liked that little extra reach for photographing Mt Fuji, but the 200mm was better for bokeh on the cherry blossoms. 🙏
Absolutely great review Adrian, thank you
Many thanks for watching Matt, cheers 🍻 🙏
Brilliant Video, Very Helpful and Informative. Many thanks for sharing. 🇬🇧
Thanks for watching 🙏
It's a great lens for shooting at airshows.
Siempre es un gusto poder ver sus videos, se agradece
Thanks for the review. It was very informative and helpful to me in determining if I should upgrade. Your photos were great, as usual.
Many thanks for watching Walter. It's been a great lens for me 🙏
Hi Adiran, @ 5:45 in your video, was this called the Devils Pulpit in Scotland? looked very familiar. Great video on the lens im thinking of purchasing one myself
Yes Devils Pulpit
@@adrianalfordphotography Thought that, also noticed you were in Glencoe
It was great review. I have this lens for wildlife photography and I totally agree with your points!!!!! Unfortunately I can’t go for birding with this unlimited lockdown! Be safe!
Sorry to hear about the lockdown, take care 🙏
Great pictures 👍Which solution do you think is better? Nikon 70-200 f4 with TC-20EIII or 80-400?
80-400 easily
Beautiful quality lens Adrian, and some cracking images mate 👌 a great review as always. Thanks for sharing 👍 Cheers, Cliff
Thanks so much for watching Cliff. Has been a great lens for me and I think I'll always hang on to it. Have an awesome weekend mate and take care 👍🙏📸
I'm betting it'll be better optically and in image quality.
superb review.. is it also for DX format? I have a d500 and am looking for a good telephoto
Thanks for watching. The lens mounted onto a DX camera would then become 120-600mm due to crop factor.
@@adrianalfordphotography thanks sir.. ordering this from EBay
Will see…
Hi would this lens work well with my Nikon D7100 with all the firmware updates
Great review thanks for posting
Will work fine. You’ll get a 1.5 crop with the 7100 being a crop sensor. Becomes 120-600mm lens.
Thank you so much for watching Shaun. Much appreciated mate. Have a great weekend and take care 👍🙏📸
Awesome video and review. Loved it
Thanks for watching 🙏
Fantastic video, this lens is going on my wishlist
Good review. Have been contemplating between 200-500 and 80-400. Kind of more inclined towards 80-400. The used prices have gone down since the launch of the Z version (100-400) which makes it a great buy at the current price point.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Nice review and info. Well done and thanks.
Thanks for watching Andrew 🙏
@@adrianalfordphotography Thank you very much!
Hi Adrian, great video, have you tried this lens on the Z series with the adapter, if so how did it perform?
Thanks... I love mine !!
Thanks for watching Donald, much appreciated 👍🙏
Looks a great lens Adrian. As you say ideal for wildlife but also great for landscapes when you want to pull the landscape together. Cheers mate👍
Cheers Scott thanks for watching mate. A great all rounder lens. If I had a Sony camera I'd probably be going for something like your 200-600mm nowadays that I'm not travelling much due to the restrictions. Have a great week mate. 👍🙏📸
I can see why you rate that lens so high Adrian. Great review and some amazing images as proof as its range 👍
Cheers mate!
I also thought about getting the mentioned 100-400GM from Sony, but my gear budget for this year is already a bit exhausted :)
Especially for wider areas in the mountains, a focal range up to 400mm can be quite interesting.
Thank you for sharing your experience with your Nikon lens and nice greetings,
Christian
Thank you very much for watching Christian. The Sony 100-400mm GM is such a beautiful lens. If I used Sony I would have that lens and the Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM. That's all I'd need I think. Hope you have a great weekend my friend, cheers 👍🙏📸
I just discovered your channel, new sub! great content! thanks!
Fingers crossed🤞
good day sir, thank you for this video. I really appreciate it. i really want to buy this lens.
You're welcome
Great review, I also have the D850 with this lens, its a great combo. My copy, I dont know if you have noticed also seems to back focus at closer objects under 20 meters towards the back only when set to Live view, have you noticed this ? And Unfortunately the front element has gathered a lot of dust (does not affect performance however, but is irritating), any ideas on how to clean it anyone ?. As to the autofocus with VR for birds in flight it does affect the final image sometimes, like a little ghosting so I switch it off, curious as to the active version mode why you have it set on that ?
Thanks for watching. From the sounds of your lens, it looks like one for the pros at Nikon repair to get into and fix.
@@adrianalfordphotography Thanks for the reply, re:Liveview no success with Nikon repair, must be a characteristic, was just asking if you had something similar. Keep up the good work.
How would you compare to the Tamron 18-400? Is the Nikkor going to produce sharper images?
I wouldn’t know. I have not used the Tamron so can’t give an opinion
@@adrianalfordphotography okay thanks for the quick response

You need FTZ adapter for Z5 or alternatively look at 100-400 Z lens (expensive).

Yes, avoid the older version.

Another D850 user here. Never tried this lens, love my 200-500, but agree it becomes a burden to carry around. Good review!
Thanks for watching William. If I didn't need an all round lens for travelling I probably would have bought the 200-500mm. But happy with this lens for now. Cheers. 🙏
when you shoot at 500mm do you notice any sharpness problems? in terms of precision
@@maxhim64 No, not really, check out the review on my channel!
2:41 is the location where they shot those homestead scenes in Rogue One?
Thanks for watching Tim 🙏
Great video and well explained on the 80-400mm . I currently have the 70-200 f2.8and thinking of changing for the 80-400mm . Id be interested on your thought on this please.
70-200 2.8 is sharper and a fantastic lens. 80-400 is much greater reach better for birds and wildlife. I have both lenses. My advice - both 🙏🤙
Looks a great lens
Great video!
Thanks for the visit
How would this lens compare to the Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 with a 2x tele?
I don't know as I don't have the lens to compare. But from reports from other photographers I know say it's slower in focus and the images aren't as sharp.
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi mate is this the afs version or the other version???
AF-S
With the ftzII, will it work with the Z5/6/7?
The FTZII works on all Z mount cameras.
is this lens compatible with the Nikon- D5300 camera?
Yes it is. However the D5300 is an APS-C or DX camera. That means if you put this lens on it, it would crop in 1.5 times. So the lens would then become 120-600mm.
Your subscription soon picked up 😜
Thanks very much for watching Darren, much appreciated 🙏
Nice edits.
Appreciate it
I can understand why you like that lens Adrian. Great shots as well. I'm with you in the lens hood camp, the bigger the better for the same reasons.
Thanks heaps for watching Andrew. Yeah having a large lens hood in Iceland saved my butt a number of times. Plus it stops lens flare a bit better. Cheers mate 👍🙏📸
