I remember hearing the same shit about GTA 5 tho before it came out they said every NPC had a house and a life and if you kill one they house goes for sale
Tbh with you, GTA V's map was excruciating enough to get from one end to the other. The more I've grown up, the more I realise having a big map is not necessarily a good thing. It can be if they come up with a solution to travelling across it efficiently, otherwise it'll get old really fast. Personally, I'm more interested in the new gameplay mechanics. I'm hoping they one up themselves over just solely robbing petrol stations when online. It would be cool if you could rob other places such as jewelry stores, clothes stores, banks (etc) in the open world rather than having all the heists as missions. I'm also super hyped to see them apply the hyper attention to detail they provided with RDR2 to GTA VI and new graphics. If they follow their reputation, they'll raise the bar for modern games once again.
Coordinates for the gta 6 map have been confirmed by the leaks from September and layed out on top of gta 5 map it’s clearly going to be way way bigger then gta 5
I think it‘s a good call by them. The future will bring lots of possibilities to develop huge scope games efficiently. Valuing work culture is important.
I played Crew 2 Crew 2 has a massive map that represents whole America and i really liked that map also it was fairly detailed. I like to see something like that in the next gta
I have absolutely no problem with them scaling down. To me GTA has never been about the size of the open world but the actual environment itself. GTA 3 had a relatively small map with 3 sections and the world felt lived in, all 3 areas felt unique. Vice City pretty much had one large map but same thing, every area felt unique. GTA SA is my personal favorite and I love how all 3 cities feel completely different and are based on real areas. I actually prefer the 3 unique smaller cities over one giant map. Again it’s all about how real the game world and environment feels. In my opinion GTA nails it everytime.
what if gta6 is release in several parts? like each part had one city and so forth but all of those parts would cost a premium and once you had all the parts you would be able to finish the story as a whole. but at the same time all the chucks would still have 30 to 40 hours of gameplay and impressive stories and satisfying ending to those stories? would you ok with it?
@@CoffeeCat369 the concept seems interesting if it’s like DLC to the main story, is that what you mean? If so yeah I don’t think I would have a problem with it and it would actually be pretty crazy if every section was like it’s own city.
Project Americas was never referring to GTA VI map representing the American Continents. It was just a reference that there would be locations in North, South, and possibly Central America. My guess is the goal was Miami, Havana, something to represent Columbia. All that could still be in the game, there's no reason to think they downsized.
You hit the nail on the head, I'm thinking the same way that there is Guarma in RD2 and Cayo Perico, the locations would be similar but larger. I rather have something like that that ties into the story instead of the bogus idea of combining every gta city. I think some people don't understand the ramifications of that.
Yall dont remember do you.... around 2013 when GTA5 came out, the then director was giving an interview in which he said his goal was someday to make a GTA game that was online, that over time they expanded to add existing GTA cities and eventually new ones. He also gave us this gold nugget... he said if they did it, they would call it something like PROJECT AMERICAS. 10 years later, GTA 6 is called PROJECT AMERICAS, and nobody is talking about it. Theyre going to add the other GTA cities, and new ones over time... gurranteed.
We know that any future gta 6 dlcs will be all about online. You really believe they would do content for story mode players? No. They will focus on online because that makes them the most money.
I hope we get options to do stuff like work at a 24/7, be a police officer, and more role play type stuff with super strict suspensions if you get reported to make it so if someone reports you for not being a good boy you get suspended for a month or two. Also we need to be able to do street robberies, just like walk into a random bank and rob it.
I’d rather a denser midsize map than a larger deserted map, especially when the content doesn’t really require a huge map to be fun, I’d like proper towns as well as two biggish cities that aren’t on the far side of the map from each other to spread out the players a bit, I also want the option to have lobbies without player markers
@@shay249 That's a fact, I just feel like the people that are asking for the entire united states need to wait until consoles can handle it. There will be obvious lack of quality the greater the land mass is.
I would love a big GTA-version of America map. Imagine making flights all the way across the country that takes more than like 5 minutes like it does in GTA V rn. So much room for RP.
Is it weird that I think if they wanted to scale back then perhaps a good aim to have would be focus on one or two cities and the surrounding area, and then once that's done work on stand alone expansions that are designed to slot into the previous games, but would still work as their own game..... (That way as fans buy more GTA games for the solo experience they get a bigger and bigger sandbox to explore and mess around in....)
@@minnion2871 I have heard a good idea that GTA online should be a separate game that combines all the cities from the single player campaigns with every new installment in the series, and your idea sounds very similar to that.
I would rather have small but detailed city with many interiors you can acces than a big map with mostly lakes and mountains like in gta 5. That's why I liked GTA IV Liberty City more. For me, San Andreas map was perfection. If they do something like this in gta VI (let's say two cities with rural areas in between) it would be awesome. But the details are what matters.
@@justiceanim1627 we will have faster cars becsuse the main reason for the cars in gta 5 are so slow is to make the map feel bigger, and if the map is huge, we may get realistic speeds, and maybe even car upgrades that will make our top speeds faster
I think turning GTA into a full on MMO where the entire country is "playable" is a cool idea. I think it would be very cool to see a game where you'd have different mobs that controlled different parts of the country. You could set up some very cool stuff with mob wars then, and have some mobs focused into things that require seclusion, vs some that thrive off densely populated areas. I think building out team dynamics is a good idea as well,
Having a "small" map doesn't have to be a bad thing. Because after players will finish the story, some of them including me will probably start to play the online version. And imagine having to do a, sale mission or even worse a steal cargo mission; and having to drive 10 minutes to and 10 back 50 times. Cause in the beginning we won't have flying bikes or jets.
What you're really criticising here is game design, not map size. It's up to Rockstar to design good missions regardless of map size. Unfortunately, a big map might actually enable Rockstar to make an Online that's even more of a grindfest than V.
Not boring at all. Crew 2 might be the worst and best example. Imagine you have to stop for gas once, too, or you just run out of fuel and have to walk and steal another car. HILARIOUS bro.

The only thing I want is a Theme Park like Disney World or Universal Studios. We’ve had the pier, and that shutdown theme park in GTA 4, but we’ve seen nothing like Universal studios. Imagine getting to go on the rides, with lots of references to Universal and Disney films, or the missions you could have there. You could chase someone through the theme park in a car, or have a big shootout there. I think Mafia 3 did something like that, but Rockstar could do it way better.

Commercial flight from coast to coast would take about 15-20min I'd like to see Chicago and some cities in Texas to connect the inner parts; maybe R* version of Mt. Rushmore as well for some countryside. Our great great grandchildren will enjoy it.
I’m hoping we get a trailer very soon and gta 5 gives us content that hypes us but the game shouldn’t get released till they can’t possibly think of anything else to add. This HAS to be the best game we’ve ever played.
They should do an Elder Scrolls Online like expansions that include new cities un every DLC. It's better add cities overtime than releasing all at once
GTA VI: full building entrance, building demolition, water physics, movement physics, car customization, weather physics, ngp movement physics, car crash physics.
Sure the crunching for rdr2 was probably extremely stressful for Rockstar employees working on the game but it was one of the best Rockstar games ever, so I think they should work overtime to ensure it is better than their other titles.

Ubisoft, The Crew. Released in 2014. The map is the ENTIRE lower 48 USA. Then The Crew 2, released in 2018 had an updated map of the USA. Rockstar can absolutely produce a map the size of the USA.

While I agree with most things being said, i am not sure if, in this day in age (and also years ago), there still is a hardware limitation on map size. I am no game developer by any means, so I might be wrong on this, but by my understanding maps are loaded in dynamically anyways. It wouldn't work otherwise. On the one side, certain assets (like textures) are way too large to keep in (GPU) memory at all times anyways, so they *have* to be loaded in. I am not sure how large the actual mesh of the map would be (memory wise) and if the map mesh is also already loaded in dynamically in e.g. GTA 5, but I honestly don't see a reason why dynamic loading of mesh shouldn't work. On the other side, since there is a natural way of fading out map (e.g. by fog) or by using coarser and coarser versions of the map, the further "back" we get (from the position of the player), which would even allow to not have some fog wall, this shouldn't really be a problem rendering-wise also. Second is also done already since a long time ago, since a GPU is not able to render a highly detailed mesh at all distances, way too many triangles for a GPU to handle, so a coarser mesh is used further back, where one wouldn't see the details anyways. (Sorry for the extensive use of my, apparently, new favorite word "anyways") All these, already used concepts, make me think that, in this day and age, but also some years ago, where the development likely has started, a huge map shouldn't be / have been a big problem hardware-wise.
I’m hoping they change up the gunplay a bit. Right now all guns feel pretty much the same but I think it would be interesting to start off with semi automatic rifles first and then have some black market with expensive full auto guns. You could also throw in some old guns too like black powder and lever action just for some fun. I’m sure people would have improvised line battles on the street if you gave them those. The semi auto at gun stores would be more realistic but also allow you to have decent firepower early with an AR-15 type rifle for let’s say $400 stock, and then allow you later to get a full auto M4 Variant for like $30000 from the black market. The other benefit that rockstar would get from this is that they could essentially double the amount of guns they have in game by just making all rifles have a semi auto and full auto version.
I don't know if you are connected but a channel by the name of 'Noxi" has a very similar script to this video. The video title is "GTA 6 Got Downscaled... But There's Good News (Leaks & Announcements)"

I wish R* would go in that direction to give us big, detailed maps, rather than huge and empty ones. If they go in the direction of DLC and a new location is added, after a few years it will be the biggest Sandbox covering the series. I really hope rockstar took their time with the game because they sure as hell had the time.. they had a decade to think together as a team and make these changes and give the community what they’ve asked for… they always release games trying to out do the last one so hopefully this is the case when they release GTA6 although I don’t have high hopes for the release to be in 2024 I’m expecting to see the game In 2025 at least. They still have yet to promote the game or have any kind of trailers or posters out.

GTA 4 map was much smaller than San Andreas but it was filled with plethora of details to explore!
@@diablow1411 that’s exactly what I mean. The details ! That’s what I like the most.
@@CoffeeCat369 You mean the players would have to buy the game in parts? That would be terrible.

They need to throw a "New Orleans" type city at the far west of the map. Yeah, that would be sweet!
It's in rdr2 - Saint Denis
Yall dont remember do you.... around 2013 when GTA5 came out, the then director was giving an interview in which he said his goal was someday to make a GTA game that was online, that over time they expanded to add existing GTA cities and eventually new ones. He also gave us this gold nugget... he said if they did it, they would call it something like PROJECT AMERICAS. 10 years later, GTA 6 is called PROJECT AMERICAS, and nobody is talking about it. Theyre going to add the other GTA cities, and new ones over time... gurranteed.
I think additional islands would be more explorable now, considering guarma in rdr2 was highly open for the player.
Rockstar games: “We are the best, we made the entire map of USA!”
Ubisoft:
I think it's kinda good to put story mode dlcs later like that the game doesn't get tiring after 2 years of playing the game
I couldn’t agree with you more, Randy Marsh South Park.

And this decade due to their lazy shitty cash grabs
I would love a big GTA-version of America map. Imagine making flights all the way across the country that takes more than like 5 minutes like it does in GTA V rn. So much room for RP.
Is it weird that I think if they wanted to scale back then perhaps a good aim to have would be focus on one or two cities and the surrounding area, and then once that's done work on stand alone expansions that are designed to slot into the previous games, but would still work as their own game..... (That way as fans buy more GTA games for the solo experience they get a bigger and bigger sandbox to explore and mess around in....)

I have heard a good idea that GTA online should be a separate game that combines all the cities from the single player campaigns with every new installment in the series, and your idea sounds very similar to that.
Nah fuck that we waited for way to long, the map better be huge
I would rather have small but detailed city with many interiors you can acces than a big map with mostly lakes and mountains like in gta 5. That's why I liked GTA IV Liberty City more. For me, San Andreas map was perfection. If they do something like this in gta VI (let's say two cities with rural areas in between) it would be awesome. But the details are what matters.

I think building out team dynamics is a good idea as well,
That's the dream
GTA VI is going to be a better game with a smaller map. Need to make sacrifices to have a larger map.
i just hope there are buyable houses in storymode pleaseee

They should use the airport to travel from city to city. The godfather had a similar concept.
Having a "small" map doesn't have to be a bad thing. Because after players will finish the story, some of them including me will probably start to play the online version. And imagine having to do a, sale mission or even worse a steal cargo mission; and having to drive 10 minutes to and 10 back 50 times. Cause in the beginning we won't have flying bikes or jets.
yeah i hate that, such a boring
What you're really criticising here is game design, not map size. It's up to Rockstar to design good missions regardless of map size. Unfortunately, a big map might actually enable Rockstar to make an Online that's even more of a grindfest than V.
Not boring at all. Crew 2 might be the worst and best example. Imagine you have to stop for gas once, too, or you just run out of fuel and have to walk and steal another car. HILARIOUS bro.

Me watching this knowing damn well my computer wouldn't be able to handle the game: 🤔
(Sorry for the extensive use of my, apparently, new favorite word "anyways")
All these, already used concepts, make me think that, in this day and age, but also some years ago, where the development likely has started, a huge map shouldn't be / have been a big problem hardware-wise.
i would be really glad if rx 7900 xtx nitro+ will be able to run gta6 on atleast 60fps on 1440p XD
bro imagine doing a mission and the check point/mission place is 20-25 miles away 💀
It's not about the width, it's about being able to go through every door in the game.
