Surprising there are still not many reviews of Delta Javelin, but this one is the best. I contacted Edgun West and picked up a Javelin 4.5-30x56 FFP with the SMR-2 reticle. The glass is bright and clear all the way through the magnification range. The SMR-2 reticle is perfect and the illuminated center cross is a nice feature. Quality scope with so many positive points. Delta lowered the cost of the Javelin by having it made in China at the same factory as the Athlon Ares ETR (run a side by side test and you will see they are almost identical).
Thank you, again, Joe! Somebody is maybe the youtuber of the week, but you are the youtuber of the century! Don’t get me wrong, I also looked at your recommendations about the other youtubers, and they were good. But anyway, you are from the different planet :-)
In Canada the difference between the Javelin and Stryker is approx $1000 cad. I just ordered one of these after running a Delta titaniun hd 4-24x50 and a titanium hd 1-6x24. They are a class above in everything for the price point. I asked my dealer what he's had for warranty returns and he said he's been selling them for 5 years and had 1 come back...... says alot about quality.
Just a follow up. Mounted the Javelin to a remmy 700 .223, like Joe says absolutley great scope! Better resolution, clearer, brighter than my pst II 5-25. I got the SMR2 reticle and love it. Other scope companies should take notice that busy reticles are so last decade. I hate a cluttered reticle, and Delta nailed it imo. The only detractor I have found is the eye box gets super tight after 20x. But most do at the top mag range. But in saying that it doesn't "darken out" noticeably at the top mag either like a lot of scopes do. My 2 cents.
Damn , the SWAF’s in HD are out of stock and now you come up with another review , this one that falls in line price wise , decisions , decisions , decisions ! The way your head was spinning this looks like a good choice , or was that the second shot of whiskey ! 😁

Joe, how are you? I am a follower of your channel. I have a question, the shooting range that I go could shoot up to 1,000 yards. something happened that can no longer be used they only have 350 yards but there is a possibility that they will be again. The question is I have a bergara b14 BMP 6.5 cred rifle which scope I can buy. My fear is that I will buy a high value one and cannot use it for its true use but at the same time I do not want to buy a bad one and that the range will be completely open. thanks att Alberto sorry for my English
Hello ! As always thank you a lot for this video. Very interesting peace of gear ! I am considering it to replace my bushnell DMR 3.5-21 ; the glass is better on the javelin ? Don't know if the change really worth it. Great work again 👍
It is easy to want to trade up. Even I am doing such a thing with my Vortex scopes (let the hating begin, I am big guy like Joe, just taller.) My question is really just a matter of diminishing returns. Because I see this in guitars (my avatar is an Ibanez Gio.) You can spend 6 to 10 thousand dollars on just a guitar. Made with the wood you like, the electronics you like. Get some Seymour Duncans, or your favorite hot-rodded pick-ups. You can also get a an Epiphone for 500 dollars (the budget brand of Les Paul) and it plays just as well as the 10k guitar. Same with amps. Scott Grove, a veteran musician did a blind hearing test between a Fender tube amp that cost a few thousand dollars and Wal-Mart solid state cheapie amp and most people preferred teh Wal-Mart amp. I have a Roland GS-6 rack mount guitar effects unit that cost about $4k new in the late 80s and I bought in a pawn shop for a song and a dance. Nowadays, you have the Fender Mustang 100 that does everything that did at a fraction of the cost. (don't worry, I am getting to a point.) Is there a point of diminishing returns? Is the cap about $2,000? If you spend more than that, are you really increase the quality, or are you just paying for a name and some quality control? Don't get me wrong, the QC can be worth it. Just about every scope is made in the asian countries or with asian parts. And just because the asians sell at a low cost does not mean the parts are defective or low quality. I could see paying a good price for QC knowing that when I get it, there will be no problems because it already passed through someone's hands before I got it. But how far can QC go? Can they get these scopes on guns and fire rounds and put them under the real world strain of butt kicking recoil of a .300 Win Mag? Or even better, an AR-10 with a heavy buffer? This seems like a good scope and it could easily last you the rest of your life.
Hi Joe, for 22lr rifle indoor shooting upto 25 yards what is the maximum low end of a scope you recommend- 3x, 4x, 5x? In other words What’s the maximum magnification that is comfortable to handhold thanks so much

Joe, if Athlon Cronus is 2nd to this, I gotta wonder if I ought to just suck it up with the mil rad . My top priority is glass quality. Am I making a mistake basing my decision on MOA over Mil Rad? I've never heard you so amped about a scope like you are the Deltas.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Well, for the price difference betwen the Delta and the Cronus, I would save the $500 and convert to Mil Rad. The only thing close price wise in the Athlon line is the Ares ETR, but it lacks a few features of the Delta, and does not come with some of the niceties as the Delta. This was a great video Joe. How does Delta Optical Javelin 4.5-30x56 compare to Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56? I can't compare these two riflescopes side by side, but I'm curious if there's a difference between them. Delta is heavier by about 200 grams and has a slightly wider range of adjustments/settings.
Greetings from Spain. I love the analysis you do. I am looking for a riflescope with a price around 1000 euros ($1099). I want to ask which riflescope is better to put on my 308 rifle for PRS basically. Delta Javelin FFP 4.5-30X56 SMR1 or ARKEN EP5 FFP 5-25X56. The price of the DELTA in Spain is 1100 euros ($1200), and ARKEN 899 euros ($988, much more expensive in Europe than in the US). Any other option, for example the ELEMENT TITAN FFP, or is it inferior in quality to these 2) Thank you so much
I have thinking Zeiss V4 to long range hunting but this Delta got my attention. Which one would you pick for range and long range hunting. Which one has better glass turrets etc. Here in Finland they are about similar price tag. Thanks for your good and honest reviews..

Hey Joe ... One Question for you Boss ...Athlon Ares ETR vs Delta Javlin both of them are pretty similar build, size and specs please let me know what is the best scope of these 2 ... thank you for your time

@@CyclopsJoeVideos based on your very positive review I got a Javelin this week from my local supplier. Just by playing with it, it’s quite interesting that when I look at a target distance away thru the scope (with correct parallax) and set like at 20x or 30x power, the reticle seems to be blurry because of my eye shifting focus between the reticle and the target so I have to remove my eye off the scope and come back again. Have you experienced this too?

How does Delta Optical Javelin 4.5-30x56 compare to Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56? I can't compare these two riflescopes side by side, but I'm curious if there's a difference between them. Delta is heavier by about 200 grams and has a slightly wider range of adjustments/settings.
Delta is better
Joe. Honest opinion...
delta javelin or the element nexus?
And
How much of a difference is the winner in clarity and tracking?
Thanks
Delta for me . Save some money and it’s just as clear and performance is identical
Any other option, for example the ELEMENT TITAN FFP, or is it inferior in quality to these 2)
Thank you so much
Man I would get the Delta and not look back !! It’s an amazing scope
I have thinking Zeiss V4 to long range hunting but this Delta got my attention. Which one would you pick for range and long range hunting. Which one has better glass turrets etc. Here in Finland they are about similar price tag. Thanks for your good and honest reviews..
This one for sure
Joe, Have you had any experience with the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5x30x56 ? If so I'm assuming the Javelin comes in better. I like the Athlon warranty. Are they even close in glass quality?
They are close but the ares is more budget friendly . The Delta is a better scope
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Right now I can get the Delta for less than the Ares !
would recommend me to get this or Arken Ep5 (hunting and some long range for fun). Thanks for a good video!
This has better glass for sure . It’s more expensive and the money is put in the optics
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Thank you for your reply! I appreciate it. Im a rookie thats looking for an OK scope untill I know exactly what expensive scope I want :). Cheers!
How do you feel the Delta Javelin compares to the Delta Stryker?
Mainly in focus adjustment range, clarity, contrast and sharpness at 1000 yds?
The Stryker is better in every way , but it’s very close
Hey Joe Nightforce Atacr or Valdada?
Valdada for my money . But it’s what I use every day and it’s optics image is what is most pleasing to my eye
@@CyclopsJoeVideos thanks!
If your still there which Valdada would you suggest to compare to the Atacr 5x25-56?
Joe, I'm undecided. Delta Javelin or Athlon Ares ETR. 4.5x30-56. Both are great scopes for ELR and are similar in pricing here in Canada ($1200 or so). What do you recommend and why? Love your videos, no Bill Shit!!
Man I prefer this scope . The reticle for me
Got to save up! 👍🏽 very nice. Ah nice your thinking about the Monty Python gang but how about us Canucks? 😉😄😀😄
Very nice
Agreed.
Hi Joe, Do you get the image sharp under the 25 meter on lower magnification?
Man , I honestly haven't tested it that close . Call Edgunwest...He could tell you
Hey Joe ... One Question for you Boss ...Athlon Ares ETR vs Delta Javlin both of them are pretty similar build, size and specs please let me know what is the best scope of these 2 ... thank you for your time
Delta
@@CyclopsJoeVideos thank you Joe . Does help with decision making
Hi Joe. I watched this video and bought a Javelin. I’ve never seen you so impressed! Is the Javelin a re-dressed Athlon Ares ETR?? Thanks mate 🇦🇺
I think it's a step up from the Athlon , but both are very nice
@@CyclopsJoeVideos thanks Joe!
same glass as the stryker? Whats the main difference that makes this model almost $600 under the stryker?
This is made in China . Stryker is made in Japan
How does it compare to the big Tract? The ELR Toric, the javelin and Stryker look like they come off the same assembly line. I love the ELR Toric that I bought after watching your review, same with my G2 recon. Good thing all my wives are exes
I think the ELR 4.5-30 Tract and the Stryker are slightly better ... But I mean just by a hair
Hello Joe, my names is Alfonso from Spain, the question is... Meopta optika6 5-30x56, or delta javelin? This scopes in my country are similar price, I'm going to buy tomorrow and I have to decide between the two. Thanks friend
G9 with the Delta and don’t look back
Ok thanks friend!!
Delta javelin wins some meopta 6,s have some tracking error
How much better is it than the Tract Toric?
The 4.5-30 Tract is better . But man I mean just slightly
Just curious if these are available in MOA..? and where are they mfg at?
Mil only , Japan
What a bummer always wanted the delta but MOA also
@@ismaelzuniga9280 You should get Stryker they have them in MOA.
I never seen the moa version with the Xmas tree reticle
Can you comment on its parallax. It doesn’t have much to adjust after 200m to infinity
Most scopes the distance between the two are very small … because the difference is also very small
That's a scope worthy of a stimulus check.
Hell Yeah it is
What would you recommend for the browning 243 wssm?
Check out my Top 3 scope video. It'll answer it
Wooohooo
Nice scope I like to know if you ever done a review on a Tract scope 👌 😉
Several , all kicked ass
Were you able to get that ring off for the sunscreen? I have one and that shit is on extremely tight
I was
@@CyclopsJoeVideos hmm, okay. Guess I gotta give it some more elbow grease then
This one or an Arken for longer range?
Arken for tracking . This has better glass
Joe how would you compare this optic to the Tract Toric, 4.5-30?
The Tract is Better
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Thx Joe!
Hi joe I wish that focused down to 10m instead of 25m for us air rifle guys shooting .22 slugs well over 100m it’s one bad arse you’d be able to see the holes any chance of you getting your hands on a night force NX8 2.5-20X50 FFP for us air rifle guys looks like this fits all shooters if it does what they say give it a nipple twister buddy I’d love to have your review on it before I order one take care big fella
Totally agree. Test it, please.
The super close focus scopes give up a lot to do that
@@CyclopsJoeVideos yeh but joe night force claim nx8 2.5-20x56 ffp is the first scope of its type it’s twice the price of the javelin the first scope in the world there words on there site to suit every shooter woods or long distance shame they won’t send you one to test it would make or break it maybe that’s why they don’t send you scopes you frighten the shit out of them I only buy a scope after yours or Richard uttings reviews so I’ll just have to hold tight till it happens there is a review out on it but not like yous do them { the holly grail } type
@@georgeg8106 Absolutely right.
Sir how much price for scope
$1400
That zero stop looks exactly like an athlon ares btr. I wonder if they share any manufacturing
There are only so many ways to make a zero stop , I’m an Athlon fan....But this is Better plain and simple
Joe choose Javelin or Element Titan?
Javelin . No DOUBT
@CyclopsVideosJoeWRhea,..... Hey Joe, We are trying to decide between two (2) different optics and since I very much appreciate your honesty, I wanted to throw this question your way hoping maybe you can help us decide which way to go..... Question is... Is there one you would suggest over the other? We are working at ranges of up to 2200yds and we would like to upgrade to a variable power optic from the SWFA SS20, and we are trying to decide between the Vortex PST Gen 2 5-25x50 and the Delta Javelin 4.5-30x56.... Maybe you could throw together a quick suggestive side by side comparison together so we can see how they compete against each other??? We're just having a tough time trying to decide which way to go... Thanks for your time!! And love your content brother!! Keep up the good work my friend!
Michael pick the Javelin and don’t look back ….A MUCH BETTER scope !!!
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Wow, you are such a "Rock Star"!! Thank you for responding... So many other channels only respond to the first few comments if any at all. Shows you are a good person who cares, thank you for that brother!! And thank you for your input. We are on that like stank on shit my friend!! hahaha God Bless and have a most wonderful day!!
If I'm going 2200 yards then the sightron s8 40mm is the only choice. It also has 40mils of elevation. Sightron is the king now only 2700 usd.
Take it to the bank game over
Which one is the best for hunting under 600?
For m3 the Meopta 6x42
I have a build I will be doing in 6.5 prc. I think I just found what I want it to wear as a crown
As if it wasn't hard enough to pick a scope now you have put another in the mix for me zeiss
Element
Delta now looks good
Which would you go for bud
Do you know if we are limited on up travel if we utilize zero stop?
No just on down travel
@@CyclopsJoeVideos thank you this is def on the list, been contemplating on the Strike eagle but seems like it can’t make it’s way to you to review, Javelin might be worth the extra money.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos do you know the field of view specs of the Javelin converted into foot measurement?
Who won that scope realy need one for my new build.
Skinny Mitch
:) Never did like skinny Mitch.
👍
There's an amazing number of scope brands on this planet. I wonder just how many actual MFG plants there are.
Probably count on 1 hand maybe 2 at the most...
@@jase1911 after I made this comment I viewed the vortex factory tour. Omg it was a fuckin cringe fest.
I would guess 10 or so
