Even Ichibei’s needs to hit you with his Shikai first before his Bankai works, while Toshiro’s can flash freeze and negate just about anything Toshiro’s also gives a massive physical stat and reiatsu amp on top of the hax. Most Bankai give a 5-10x combat ability boost to the Bankai’s specific speciality, but Maturr Daiguren Hyorinmaru is already a massive reiatsu amp on top of Daiguren Hyorinmaru which is already a Bankai level amp, and it brought Toshiro’s physical stats from being below Kenpachi to causally one hand swing and slashing through Vollstandig Gerard’s sword when Gerard was Miracle Amped by Bankai Kenpachi, while no eyepatch Shikai Kenpachi with no eyepatch could barely leave chips in a much weaker God Size Gerard’s sword. Kenpachi with the eyepatch could destroy Gremmy’s meteor.
