Really like both singles so far! Stayed up till midnight Australian time to hear it at release. Wasn't disappointed. Thank god for your channel. I'd be screwed trying to understand the nuances of the lyrics. Translating doesn't really help without context which you provide. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for the video, Dave! I think it's a brilliant song, the lyrics are so on point and a lot of people (including me) feel like they can relate. However I believe this song is not about some specific mental disorder, amnesia, Alzheimer's etc., but rather about self-identification, self-awareness and looking for the sense of being and one's place in this world, in a wider philosophical context. In fact, I loved this song so much that I even made a translation into Russian to go with the original rhythm of the lyrics. You're doing great job helping us improve our German through Till's lyrics and other great content. Thank you and keep up the good work!
My interpretation is that the lyrical I is a drug addicted wanderer who doesnt know what to do or who he is. He doesnt know what day it is and doesnt know where he goes. He doesnt recognize himself because he has truly lost himself. This is implied by the verse, "Vergessen alle Tage, vergessen jede Nacht Wo bin ich gewesen, was hab ich gemacht? Wie hat das begonnen, wann fing das an? Wo bin ich gewesen, was hab ich getan?" When you are high you usually dont know what youre talking about and easily forgets what you were just talking about too. he doesnt know how long hes been this way He feels the depression and paranoia that follows his addiction and is looking for something, but he doesnt know what. (i dont speak german so i hope not all words were lost in translation. I can however read a bit german as my language has some similarites in structure.) Great video as well!
Love your vids on Rammstein/Lindemann songs ! As a non german speaker, its nice to learn about what these songs are about and how they can be interpreted
This is the first lyric vid I've watched, I feel like I finally know enough about german grammar to learn from it :) Ich mag die grammatikalischen und sprachlichen Erklärungen sehr! Danke Dave
Yeah, I agree. This song feels more like Pain-Rammstein-ish, I enjoyed it. What do you think of analyzing other songs from F&M, such are Allesfresser, Knebel, Wer weiß das schon?
Hi Dave, thank you for this video! Your explanation of German is really really helpful for understanding the language (I'm English and trying to learn German). Its interesting to have the thorough explanation of the song too, Till's lyrics always make each song into it's own story 🙂 You also have a really nice voice to listen to! Thank you😊
Rennen is the same in Dutch. Also regen, Sonne is Zon. Seems to me you will understand Dutch very well! For me the song is about depression but I could be wrong. Never easy with Lindemann!
I was also wondering if it was about someone who, in focusing on their job or perhaps drug addiction, have lost a sense of not just meaning, but their own self as well as personal relationships.
He probably wrote it after his party with Russian chicks that so famously reported in his Till the end song of Na Chuy albom. I would try hard to forget it as well.
I have been thinking that the first song from the new album and this has something do with eachother. Who noticed that before the first video, Till published photo of him and his mother? I think these songs are for his mother who might be suffering dementia... Maybe I'm thinking too much, but to me this song is about dementia. I think this songs lyrics are beautiful, and I can't say why...
I find Till's pronunciation of 'Ich' to be quite interesting. Sounds like he says 'Ish' in many of his songs however this could just be my ears deceiving me. Ich weiß es nicht.
honestly in my opinion...till lindemann do the lyrics same as like kurt cobain style yea because i'm one of the nirvana fans until now. Before this i study a bit about nirvana lyrics, it can be similar or misheard..but for till lindeman, each word of his lyrics have many and deep meaning...who knows..? ouh I forgot. Till Lindemann is a Till Literature-man!
To me it seems like he is wanting to run away from the lonely life he grew up in. He seems to. not be sure of his life existing to what form.. it seems to him no matter what nothing ever turned out good for him. He is just not sure what his life means and has questions that are not answered.
In my opinion after watching the AI generated music video the theory about Alzheimer being the subject of the song seems more plausible,a person who goes out of their house to somewhere only to forget where and why in their tracks, the music video makes it seem like the person is trying to remember people's faces, insects and even their own face it's hard to even make out all the images honestly,in the end that person forgets their friends and family making them feel alone and left out, they forget who they are and all their past actions making them doubt their existence and identity which is a doubt that they will forget in a few hours but it will come back again and the whole cycle continues hence they will walk again and again
Thanks for watching! :3
What do you think about the song?
Tell me in the comments!
It's existential, as lyrics. The music, of course, we won't know until Nov.22nd. Right?
Nice to see you again!

Thank you.
It would be interesting to see your reaction to Knebel uncensored music video 🤣
Thank You for video
I’ve learned in recent years just how brilliant Till is. Thank you for your knowledge and insights into the linguistics.
Rammstein have single handedly made German the coolest language in the world.
Thanks a lot for the video, Dave!

This song speaks to me. I feel it alot
Thank you Danke
A few fans have said that the song is about Alzheimer's or the main idea behind it is, especially with the lyrics translated
Very well possible!
It really puts me in the mind of Jason Bourne's story
I was thinking dementia myself.
Thank you for this really thorough explanation.
Till the best.
awesome video!

The song is an absolute banger tho.

When will the halloman video coming out?
He probably wrote it after his party with Russian chicks that so famously reported in his Till the end song of Na Chuy albom.
I would try hard to forget it as well.
The poem sounds nice in German ~
Hallo would you answer my question?
What does "auf und davon" in wer weiß das schon track means?
Starting off strong, I think new album is going to be great. Let's see if there would be more positive tracks.
I have been thinking that the first song from the new album and this has something do with eachother. Who noticed that before the first video, Till published photo of him and his mother? The song is about a lonely man who has lost the meaning of life
deep..same as deep of Mariana Trench...
Crazy how similar English and German can be.
Same language family and branch!
honestly in my opinion...till lindemann do the lyrics same as like kurt cobain style yea because i'm one of the nirvana fans until now. i dont listen to german music. im just here to learn some more german on my way😂
I felt as though the song is referring to the negative aspects and harsh reality with Alzheimer’s.
Viele Präterita und Perfekten. Das Lied ist sehr informativ, aber traurig.
Analyse the Steh Auf video?
To me it seems like he is wanting to run away from the lonely life he grew up in. He seems to. not be sure of his life existing to what form.. it seems to him no matter what nothing ever turned out good for him. He is just not sure what his life means and has questions that are not answered.
Can you talk slowly please, so we can learn ☺️
COULD YOU JUST DO SUBTITLES? AND LET THE SONG RUN?
The video is tagged with AI I think.
Your voice is so asmr
This is horrible. It’s slave. Person who has lost everything
