I was at a party on an island in Fiji on 31 December 1999 to celebrate the new Millennium. Instead of Y2K worries I was dancing the night away with some great friends from Japan when the Deejay played this song. Very fond memories 25 years later. Of course I bought the Inner Circle CD on my return home to South Africa
This song is only the European and Japan versions of Jamaika Me Crazy. There was an American version of Jamaika Me Crazy, but it doesn't have the song "Black and White". You can usually find the Euro and Japan versions of Jamaika Me Crazy on ebay or from 3rd party sellers on Amazon.
I like this version. I'm most familiar with the Three Dog Night version from 1972, and I would love to hear the Sammy Davis Jr. version from 1957 but haven't seen it on RUclips. This is about the 1954 Supreme Court decision integrating schools.
This particular version was released in 1998 on the album Jamaika Me Crazy. You are correct, though; Inner Circle recorded an earlier version for 1989 album Identified.
This Inner circle album is called Jamaican me krazy it came out i think 99' or 98'...And the whole album is good...Ever since i came to america 2000 I've been trying to look for it in stores but never found one...
Did my research. Composed by Earl Robinson and David Aitkin (both of late) American composers. Versions by Sammy Davis Jr, Pete Seeger, the Maytones etc..Very interesting

@Messimaestro, it does exactly at 2:35 into the song.
A Jamaican group called Greyhound did this song in 1971; Three Dog Night's famous cover came out a year later in 1972. When did this version come out?
Chris Mulwee 1998
@Chris Mulwee. Interesting!! I was about to question/comment on this. So Greyhound did the ORIGINAL in 1971?
