What makes it even tougher on the original is that there's no actual "1" since Alex plays the and of 1 right as Eddie starts. So Alex is counting And, 3, 4. Super weird.

Correct! That's what always troubled my drummer in the early days. Couldn't conceive of the One being silent, haha
