It would be awesome if valve hired these guys for an official Source 2 port as is valve's history of hiring modders to turn their mods into official games.
Only problem is Tf2 is coded in c++, and as a whole is a lot more complicated than a s&box gamemode. From videos I've seen tf2 code is a spaghetti mess so hopefully if valve was to make tf2 in source 2 it would be more of a remake than a port.

Looks good! Out of curiosity since I dont know much about the Source engine and S&box, if the project releases well, can Valve use it as a sort of foundation to make a TF2 Source 2 port quicker? I've seen people talking about Valve wanting to make it easier to push community made content, but the current engine's spaghetti code is holding them back, so a port seems like a viable solution, of course if Valve actually wants to
Definitely could seem viable. According to a stream from Tyler Mcvicker (The dude well known for covering Valve games) he mentioned Valve's aware of Team Fortress Source 2. So If they do manage to do that it'd definitely make sense for them to do that since it's already made for them and on the source 2 engine. Valve would pretty much just allow full reign IF they decide to make that decision tbh.
