Here in Belize it was raining through the night and there were periods of about 45 min it would stop but it started again and it hasn't stopped(7:10a.m). Good morning Brian, here in Cayo district in Belize , Santa Elena , San Ignacio rivers sure up the Iguana creek bridge that is by Spanish lookout area that bridge is 7 feet underwater as of 5:00 a.m. probably higher by now , has been raining pretty hard here with just a few let,-ups here and there
I wish we could take some of that rain here in Jamaica from you guys in Belize because its hot right now but i hope the rains will come inshore on the south coast because 97L was mostly offshore

weather update from southern Belize (Hopkins/Maya Centre/Sittee River): after several heavy rainstorms over the last 2 weeks that have fully saturated the ground causing flooding across much of the area and making many of the unfinished roads difficult or impossible to traverse, the rain we are experiencing right now has been a steady fall without interruption since 6pm yesterday evening and is still falling (15 hrs so far)- whereas flooding last week was mostly creeks and roadside ditches overflowing, now with saturated ground it is sheeting across land

@@jmarietg in all seriousness tho, we have tons of rain but no wind, so sea conditions are ok- if your friends opt for one of the excursions that takes them diving/snorkeling/to one of the cayes, there shouldn't be an issue, but even in dry weather, cruise companies will charge for a shore excursion, miscalculate travel time, and cut them short all the while still charging customers- in wet weather, many roads will be impassable- it should also be pointed out that 90% of any expense goes to the cruise company and not to the local economy, even "gift shop/touristy" businesses, especially Harvest Caye which prohibits Belizeans (unless they are employed there), don't get all the money- without a doubt, our economy, based upon us preserving our marine resources, relies upon 'overnight stay' where expenses DO go to local resorts/gift shops/markets/coffee/tourguides etc, not cruises

Blessed Sunday Brian. The rain continued throughout the day yesterday, last night, and this morning. It stopped for now and the sun is trying to peek out. Thankful for the cooler weather at 79° at the moment. There are reports of flooding in the West and the City. One of the main bridges is flooded and closed in Cayo, and in some areas in the city there's water on the streets. I haven't been outside since yesterday, but will take a drive today and see if we have any flooding here in Dangriga, none here in my neighbourhood. We have some flooded areas, but never enough for it to be life-threatening... unless you count crocodiles moving freely about as life-threatening! 🤣

Good morning, Brian. I live on Caye Caulker, one of the Cayes in Northern Belize 🇧🇿. Plenty of rain here, but it's more sporadic/ intermittent than anything. We have some flooded areas, but never enough for it to be life-threatening... unless you count crocodiles moving freely about as life-threatening! 🤣
