Very nice Drew, really enjoy these. I've been subscribed for a while now and I'm glad to see your subscribers increasing proportionally to the quality of your videos. You've earned it.
you just give to the FPV community, man. I can't even do a basic orbit properly, but I'm still watching, like, "I can understand this.". lol. good shit, man
Real thanks for these! Helping me understand flying backwards. Looking forward to the interview too.My confuser cant handle sims so i learn real time. All the best pal!
Really enjoying these tutorials Drew. Keep making them. I'm still working on the Mattyflip. These are so helpful for someone like me that's been flying for 5 months or so now. By the way, those big helis scare the sh*t out of me. PARKOUR!
Dude there's helicopters absolutely terrified me. I was behind a brick wall holding my iPhone through an opening to record lmao They were making fun of me for being so timid, but I don't care those things seem lethal haha
Le Drib Two years ago or so, a pretty good experienced pilot accidently killed himself by taking his own prop blade to the head. Ever since I read that, they've freaked me out.
This is excellent work mate. Great video and really opening the eyes of the community to practice the more difficult moves available. I had not seen this or practiced this trick before, so really looking forward to getting into the sim and hitting it up. Peace man
the reason the trick is so hard to do IRL and you can do it in DRL is that DRL does not have a good exponential acceleration for gravity. the quad falls out of the sky slower in the simulator than it would IRL. i honestly think that the fall rate in DRL is actually linear, or maybe it is exponential but with a high drag coefficient to level it out at a max fall speed.
Incredible! It really does seem to defy gravity. i want to see what prop works the hardest during these tricks! i can imagine there's just one stationary prop!
Impressive skills. Sorry I don't get to your flight videos that often and great to meet you guys at the RR meetup. Nice way to make it look stable on the rotation around an object. What I like about "5S" and 30a (or more) esc's is that you can keep yourself locked on an object and you can pretty much do anything against gravity. However, it's difficult for proximity (a mode switch could probably help).
Dude so great meeting you the other day! Such a fun event despite the rain :) I've still never tried higher than 4S haha I'll have to experiment with that
If I had more batteries I would of let each of you try it. I only had 3. 3 for me unfortunately. I really needed 3 for each of you. It was an honor to meet all of you.
You are probably right for a first time. I was feeling so cramped flying around a solo tree. One of these days if I ever get the money I'll try TBS stuff with 5S. I've flown some mountains with 5S and enjoy them. I know of some really epic places in Utah from dirt biking.
hey ibbeen doing this move with my Gxd509 toy qaudcopters lol if you pup the sticks in the opisit movement it will do this move in reverse both stick in together or out opposite from each other draw it was one of my first tricks I learned myself buddy lol nice to see you doing it aswell
Drew can you show us how to do those quick whip-yaw-spins where you fly though that building, maintain altitude and whip 360 degrees? People been asking Steele for awhile now but no answer and I see you doing them now to. Thanks my friend. 👍🏼
Le Drib sure no prob. Easiest reference is this video at 9:27 & 10:47 as you exit the Bando. I'm sure you are doing left yaw and left role but is the throttle dropped in that moment? Camera seems so straight and fixed in one point which means your quad is spinning about the yaw axis perfectly. Mines a big "wobble" when I pull it that fast.
The exit at 10:47 looks to be a really quick roll as he leaves the building, kind of pitches down and gives it full stick to the left to do a quick 360 roll.. you need the right rates+expo to get your spin times right
Seeing that you fly a helicopter, is it basically an inverted funnel? If thats so then thats easier for me to understand. Since i see what a helicopter does and can't see what a quadcopter does.
Cool tricks! It's great watching you guys get better and better so rapidly! Is that DRL you are using in this video? I may look at Velocidrone now that I've heard of it here because my PC is old and not up to the more intense graphics.
Hey Drib. I'm getting an Eachine Wizard x220, and have an Spektrum Dxe controller. Do you have any recommendations on what receiver to get for it? I'm a total noob. Thanks.
Could you please share your settings in DRL sim. Would give guys that are kinda new an idea what someone of your caliper uses to practice with. Thanks.
I actually don't change the settings much from the stock. All I do is tune the rates so it feels more similar to my real quads. But I showed all of my settings in my last live stream. I just went back and added a timestamp in the description so you can skip right to it :) ruclips.net/video/PKQHz8ukmjU/видео.html
Hay Drew. Love the content. Keep it coming. Just a quick question...how tight are your gimbal spring on you DX9? Your flying is realy smooth and i thought that might be contributing to your smoothness.
Tnx for explaining that trick, I'm going to practise in the sim first too :) Do you fly the DRL sim with 'stock' physics or have you tweaked them through the debug screen (alt-5)?
I've been using a nano qx for about 3 months and I was wondering about getting the Eachine Wizard X220 RTF should I get that or build my own or get an fpv tiny whoop?
Build your own. My mate has a wizard and the frame seems to be doing alright but the electrical components are a bit cheap and crappy. Join this group on FB facebook.com/groups/droneracing/. It's helped me. Most of the guys on there will tell you to build 1 too.
Tiny Whoop is a great starting point though! And you can still build it yourself. Great way to get familiar with the components and what everything does. I learned a ton from flying and repairing my Nano QX before I even tried FPV
Did you have the dummy load on your transmitter? Couldn't tell in the brief moment I saw the tx. I did the antenna mod a few weeks back so I'm ultra paranoid about it now lol
Yes, I did have the dummy load attached. However when the simulator cable is plugged in (and the power switch is off) the Radio goes into trainer mode, which means The actual transmitter is it powered on. That being said I keep the dummy load on as an extra precaution :)
Is there any chance you could explain what the third person view of the quad would look like during this trick? I can't get my head around where the vertical thrust would come from.
It is just like a tight orbit you'd be almost facing the center when you do it. Well, except the quad is rotated around 180 degrees and your camera sees slightly over vertically up and your kwad still is in a tight backwards orbit in a way the back almost faces the center with a lil offset to keep going rather than fly straight into the center
@@adakalyoncu1913 Thanks, but that post is now 6 years old. I already learned the trick and quite FPV in that time :p ruclips.net/video/Hrk8q-Xfrm8/видео.html
nice trick but dude, get some sleep :) looking forward for the live thing with micro quads brushed/brushless, since we have 2 brushed and just ordered a brushless for my son. 95mm i think it is, i wonder what frames you're using, hopefull its happening when I'm awake in my timezone :) edit:....oh and i like the music in the video.
Actually showed my DRL settings in my last live stream. I put a timestamp in the description so you can jump right to it :) ruclips.net/video/PKQHz8ukmjU/видео.html
Drew I wish you showed the actual quad attitude. It doesn't look like there is any vertical lift component. Which obviously is an illusion, since you don't fall and crash.
What props are you using? Maybe through a new set from another brand on just to be doubley sure. Otherwise could be a bad motor. Soft-mounting could help or switch to new motors
Le Drib I haven't had the problem yet, excpet for the last couple days. I think I found he problem. A screw fell out awhile ago and my top plate was loose. I'm goingto test it out after school.
Try doing that in that in the wind storm we just had pass through town lol. What's up from sw Michigan, nice flying. You ever use the liftoff simulator, i think it feels more natural than the drl sim:)
no it does not. the most realistic sims are velocidrone (what i use), and DRl. if you set the right pids, settings,,etc... it will feel very realistic (except for gravity). Liftoff has so little setting, you cant change much, and it feels VERY unrealistic.
Ahh, my life now. *oh, i didnt seen this vid yet.* 5 min into it, and i noticed my batteries are full. Pause, went flying, broken one prop, finished battery and plugged it to charger. Time to unpause vid. I might have a problem, but having only one battery for mjx x600 makes it not as big as it will be in he future lul
Hey man, that seems pretty intense. A quick question, how do you make Spektrum work with DRL sim? Your input would be highly appreciated.
I actually did a stream on this: ruclips.net/video/PKQHz8ukmjU/видео.html
There's a timestamp in the description to jump to the explanation :)
Sweet, I was just about to ask you what you were using for settings on DRL, but your video shows that too!! Epic :)
Bari FPV I
Liftoff is better
I like how you're not pretentious about this stuff. Down to earth. Makes your videos more enjoyable, I think. Keep up the good work!
He is the same way in person. No ego and just likes to share his knowledge and have fun..
The irony is that down to earth is the last thing you want to be while flying fpv haha. Great trait in a personality though.
Did my first trippy spin today. Thx for the inspiration, bud. You're videos rock!!!
I call it the "not the right way up spin around it"
well said haha
lol stu
UAVfutures or head confuser 😒
lol
Funny coming from someone that lives on the bottom of the world lol.
Very nice Drew, really enjoy these. I've been subscribed for a while now and I'm glad to see your subscribers increasing proportionally to the quality of your videos. You've earned it.
Thanks for the kinds words and encouragement. Helps a lot today
this is the video I realized you lived in Michigan, also good to see support for the great guys at Excel RC. subscribed! keep up the awesome content!
I like the tutorials, and your approach of finding common objects to use.
You have some great spots to fly. It's only 4 hours from Toronto. If I can cross the border you may see me wandering around your neighborhood.
Always wondering how this is executed... Thanks for sharing! Lots to learn for me.. :D
you just give to the FPV community, man. I can't even do a basic orbit properly, but I'm still watching, like, "I can understand this.". lol. good shit, man
I agree 30-35 degrees camera angle is really the sweet spot !
Real thanks for these! Helping me understand flying backwards. Looking forward to the interview too.My confuser cant handle sims so i learn real time. All the best pal!
Awesome video as always Drew. I really enjoyed the closing montage to music. Really nice!
Good stuff. Been practicing this last week. I naturally added lots of yaw but want to try the inverted now.
Really enjoying these tutorials Drew. Keep making them. I'm still working on the Mattyflip. These are so helpful for someone like me that's been flying for 5 months or so now. By the way, those big helis scare the sh*t out of me. PARKOUR!

Another great video Drew, damn those 3D helis scare the cramp out of me !
And a legendary bando is born...
Well done sir! and... my Soundcloud lists are improving with every video you produce lol. Love them picks!
haha yeah making videos has forced to find so much new music! Its difficult but its been great getting exposed to so many new sounds
this is a massively cool trick, thanks for sharing this.
That is an awesome trick... haven't seen anyone else do it...
Think I forgot to mention in the video but the first person I saw do it was Luke. Blew my mind lol
LD power motors!!!! Love them things!!!

thats a really good idea. I should try to do blackbox on some of these weird tricks. I bet your right that one of the props is really slow
Great video man! Awesome trick!
thanks Matt :)
definitely messes with your head lol
Yup. Exactly what I meant on the live chat ! Thanks Drew :)
Hope it helps :)

Would love to see dvr footage layed with gopro footage when hitting inside the bandos!
Nice flying, Drew!
only 2 days until the live broadcast. I can not wait. 🤓
every time I see your pfv footage I find myself smiling a lot. I think I wanna fly too.
Dallas Haney
Two years on.. You flyin yet friend?!
Does that eyeliner help reduce glare?
can it be done at 30º cam tilt? I asume that at more tilt more easy ?
Thanks very much. You inspire me a lot!
sick maneuver!
very nice, i keep learning to you. thanks so much and have a nice day :)
hi wanted to ask which camera angle do you use to perform this trick,? thanks for the answer
I think it's about 40 I think.
Drew can you show us how to do those quick whip-yaw-spins where you fly though that building, maintain altitude and whip 360 degrees? People been asking Steele for awhile now but no answer and I see you doing them now to.

I'm down to try and help. Do you have specific video and time stamp you could point me to for reference so I know exactly what you're referring to?
Le Drib sure no prob. Easiest reference is this video at 9:27 & 10:47 as you exit the Bando. I'm sure you are doing left yaw and left role but is the throttle dropped in that moment? Drew - any chance you could share your settings for DRL? I couldn't find anything even "close" to real flying :(
Can you post your DRL settings please
Try velocidrone it is more realistic and you have many tracks.
It is really awesome.
Hey Drib. I'm getting an Eachine Wizard x220, and have an Spektrum Dxe controller. Do you have any recommendations on what receiver to get for it? I'm a total noob. Thanks.
Can this move be done slowly? I would use for cinematography purposes
Could you please share your settings in DRL sim. Would give guys that are kinda new an idea what someone of your caliper uses to practice with.

Hey drew,
Where do you get your sweet sunglasses?
Keep up the work
Thank you
Your ESC's are encased. Do you still do that?
Have you ever tried horizon mode? Just wondering.
what simulator was, i couldnt understand in the vid
How do you get the drl simulator to fly like my drones do in real life, I've played with the settings and it's not even close
Rad as usual drib
Hay Drew. Love the content. Keep it coming. Just a quick question...how tight are your gimbal spring on you DX9? Your flying is realy smooth and i thought that might be contributing to your smoothness.
Loosed them just a bit from stock but not much
Le Drib Ok. Thanks Drew
What kind of eyeliner do you use?
Good ending! a day of flying then food with some friends!...nice!...
ROTFL at the ad I just watched before this video
thanks for the new way to break my quad! :)
😂 you're welcome and I'm sorry
Tnx for explaining that trick, I'm going to practise in the sim first too :) Do you fly the DRL sim with 'stock' physics or have you tweaked them through the debug screen (alt-5)?
stock physics, just tuned the rates a bit. Wanted to leave stock so when I play on other's computers I know what to expect
I've been using a nano qx for about 3 months and I was wondering about getting the Eachine Wizard X220 RTF should I get that or build my own or get an fpv tiny whoop?

How do I get the simulateder?
Ayeee :) I remember you talking bout this in the livestream.
I can do a inverse orbit but not a knife edge orbit, is that bad.
Sweet trick. How did you do the stick cam in DRL sim?
alt-c :)
Holy crap that's so scary 😳. Omg like a constant roller coaster
I have a dx6 and want to use a simulator wjat do i need?
Epic videos. 🎥💯

Did you have the skyzone v1s? If so, do you see a drastic improvement in video quality with the v2s?
Yeah I went from the SKY01 v1 to the SKY02 v4 and it was a huge improvement. Much better image. Wish I had upgraded sooner
Sweet. Thanks!
you got one of them progress daily shirts by john hill?
hell yeah :)
Trippy Indeed
Ok I need I want I got to have that sim program!!!!!
yeahhhh thats not happenin over here! lol.. i wont be killing my kwad trying this anytime soon lol.. Great video Duder!!!
Drib struggles with trick.... STOP FAKING to make us feel better!!! 😉😉
FlipSide be driving Ms. Daisy LMAO .
Omg 😂
that is so wierd but Awesome I got dizzy lol. I'll try it in a year or so 😆
what simulator are you using?
It's DRL (Drone Racing League) Simulator if ya haven't figured it out yet
The heli guy could have told you it's a tail-in funnel ;)
nice trick but dude, get some sleep :) looking forward for the live thing with micro quads brushed/brushless, since we have 2 brushed and just ordered a brushless for my son. 95mm i think it is, i wonder what frames you're using, hopefull its happening when I'm awake in my timezone :) edit:....oh and i like the music in the video.
drib your the man! what simulator is that my good sir?
Josh Huffman DRL simulator
another question. what goggles are those?
Skyzone SKY02's - I used these myself, excellent googles.
Thanks Jools. Yeah this is the DRL simulator and my goggles are Skyzone's, I did 2 vlogs about them actually: ruclips.net/video/Ug-gRSc5xEY/видео.html
I've just got one one question, Drew. HOW TF DOES THIS THING STAY AIRBORNE WHILE INVERTED.
Hahah angles camera and cross-eyed sticks :)
Good stuffage
I'm still working on standard orbits - lol
Can you post your DRL settings?
Actually showed my DRL settings in my last live stream. I put a timestamp in the description so you can jump right to it :)

Le Drib Of course, the only video I haven't seen of yours yet. My bad. Thanks for everything!

Drew, I've been having trouble with my footage. It's all jello-ey. Do you know what could be the problem? I know props are not the problem.

Maybe through a new set from another brand on just to be doubley sure.
Otherwise could be a bad motor. Soft-mounting could help or switch to new motors

Oh that will definitely cause problems. Hope that was it :)
It's one of two things and possibly both - Your quad's tuning and using quality components.
Are you in Florida
Yup, Detroit based :)
GAPiT has a really good (unlisted) video about this trick if you haven't seen it: ruclips.net/video/JP6QrHguZq0/видео.html

solid rainy day funs :)

never mind i got it, DRl
I must make a mental note to not watch right after eating. Not a good feeling but great flying!
haha sorry! It's definitely a dizzying one
why do you use eyeliner?
Seems like you struggle with this one!..😎
Meanwhile me who can't orbit at all: ... how'd he do that
Ahh, my life now.
*oh, i didnt seen this vid yet.*
5 min into it, and i noticed my batteries are full. Pause, went flying, broken one prop, finished battery and plugged it to charger.
Time to unpause vid.
I might have a problem, but having only one battery for mjx x600 makes it not as big as it will be in he future lul
