Thanks for doing this, it's much appreciated. I'm at the point in my journey where I'm really trying to grasp trippy spins, matty flips, and juicy flicks. It's a transition point that seems to be largely based around getting comfortable with flying backwards and/or inverted. I know these tricks have been broken down and beaten to death by many people and a lot of what makes them "scary" is the loss of visibility when inverted/backwards and it seems the solution is practice, understanding your quad's thrust vector at any given point, and SPATIAL AWARENESS. Obviously you can't practice for me, but it's encouraging to have an ace pilot such as yourself talk me through it all.
super useful thank you, I got into fpv to get cinematic shots but I discovered I love to fly, and recently I've been trying to get better with my freestyle.
Really awesome to watch more from Stingy! The next thing I would love seeing is splitS to gap. Most of us do biig SplitS es and totally mis the gap on the exit. Catching the quad while flying around a bit of propwash would be pretty dope yet plain.
Great breakdown and explanation man ! You could also do the same with powerloop / side powerloop / Matty : it's fun to just put a 90° yaw in the same direction at the end of each loop ( under the object or over it ), and a great exercise to get the feel of where your quad is going in relation to your camera angle : ) It unlocks so many possibilities !
I never understood the physics or flight dynamics of a trippy spin until now THANK YOU !! Before I was always like "how is that even possible>?" LOL thanks again SS !
Nice video dude I appreciate you breaking down what the quad is actually doing, what the cameras looking at, and what the sticks are doing. On paper it seems simple, but man that camera view just throws me the hell off.
Awesome vid! I realized I can practise a precise powerloop this way: Just fly it sideways first so I can watch the obstacle... and remember how I roll... and than just transform that same motion into pitching back. Told me a lot, still gotta practise a lot more tho XD
Awesome vids. Great quads. Look Nice. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' fast, solid, nice and tight you can rip. Thanks for the motivation.
Very good demonstration and explication. Only thing I would suggest is doing another video focusing only trippy spin but with a more detailed and zoomed in image of the sticks (Mode 2). Thank You
Nice analysis. I did only very little trippy spins so far but thought the same about already that it is just an inverted orbit. Actually a 360 camera should reveal this with stick input overlay.
@@stingersswarm If I can make it work? That remains to be seen. Lol I'll try tomorrow, but it sure feels like your explanation unlocked it in my brain. I have no PC capable of running a sim properly. But I have 4 quads I can throw at it. Lol
I'm about a month into learning to fly a 5", all be it an INav Source one in Acro mode. I can, so far only do about 3 forward orbits before I loose it. I feel I need a rear view mirror to perform a backward orbit afraid of backing into the tree or whatever. Thanks! really enjoy your lessons.
Maybe good explanation is: flying around - roll left and a little pitch back orbit - pitch forward and a little roll left backward flying - roll right and a little pitch forward Trippy spin - pitch back and a little roll right It is clearly visible in second showing, each time roll/pitch stick rotated by 90 degrees
Just try it again and again in a sim. Although it may be helpful to know the theory of how to move that trick just has to be practiced before you really wrap your head around it. At least for me that was the case for that particular trick. Start out by getting in a position where you look up at the object. For example by flying just past the object on one side and then pitching up. From there try rolling and add some throttle (I added too much throttle in panic at first that lead to loss of control). If the roll seemed to go the wrong way try to fly past the object on the other side or just roll the other way, whichever seems more comfortable. From there on it's all about trying to get a feel for it. Trying to not get too far away from the object and keep going. Tricky trick... I can only do it semi consistantly one way. The other way around feels even harder.
I have a problem with loosing altitude when trying a trippy spin . Do you think it could be because I run my cam around 30 dig ? I have just about got the trick where you pull up on a pole or tree and Start heading like your going to go around it but instead pitch back where your looking back at the pole and pulling out of it heading back the direction you were coming from which I think looks cool af but I feel like that could turn into a trippy spin . Am I right on that? Thx for the video stingy.
Not necessarily. The mattystunz theory has been debunked a few years ago. Not many if any pilots fly at 60+ deg anymore except racers but that’s obvious due to the speed they fly
@@stingersswarm That is what I was figuring. I was running 20 and could complete two orbits but recently switched to Cricket angle and now I struggle. Thank you
mind blown lol. Loved the transition from orbit to flying backward and then trippy spin. I never thought of those maneuvers this way.

The key to backwards flying is paying attention to the environment and taking cues from non obvious inputs. I might make a video on this one too.
Yes and I am pushing at that barrier now.
This is exactly the kind of trick explanation I needed! Thanks for giving back to the community!! Fantastic breakdown and demonstration. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@stingersswarm absolutely! I hope that you do more of these. The way you broke it down and then demonstrated it was real and relatable. Thanks again!
Bro!!! Excellent tutorial! Got some practicing to do. Detailed talk through…LOVE it!
Thanks man. Idk I would need to practice to pull off half the tricks in your trickopedia.
Always a treat when Stingy posts a new video! 🙏❤️
Haha. Thanks.
Yes!
I'm not joking the way you explained it is so real
super useful thank you, I got into fpv to get cinematic shots but I discovered I love to fly, and recently I've been trying to get better with my freestyle.

I did a whole video on avoiding prop wash about 5 years ago. It still holds up. I might have to revisit it though.
Stingy makes my thrust vector dynamic!
Oh yeah!!
He's back!!!! Easy to understand breakdown of those tricks. Thank you!
OMG I'm going to try the trippy spin like this in these steps! Thanks Stingy!
This is an amazing masterclass :] MORE PLEASE!
I'll try a few more and see how they go.
Very good explanation of what's going on with these maneuvers. This is good stuff!
2 minutes in and I already love it! These ones really help the community and myself. Thanks Stingy!! Keep up the good work man.
Dude, you just blew my mind.
And I didn't even get to the flying 🤣
great way to break into a trippy spin the trick I hate the most it always ends in damage but that's the best way yet I've seen.
Wild trippy spins. I might actually figure out how to do a trippy spin after watching this. Thanks for a well explained video.

Keep the videos coming. You're one of the most watchable/enjoyable vloggers I follow.

You are my favorite Polish drone pilot
Love the way you explain and demonstrate how to do manoeuvres whilst holding it. it helps out loads.
This is the easiest way to learn trippy spin. Thanks
it reminds me of when I tried to learn the violin! You also need your 2 hands to work independently when doing complex maneuvers!
Awesome demo stingy I never looked at it that way, thanks dude ✌👍
I hope it helps.
This video made my head tilt 😁

was not expecting that copypasta, but it fits so well lol
Very cool... Never thought about it but you're spot on with that
That is what I'm here for.
A neat way to think about these manoeuvres 👍
It helps me make smooth transitions with them. I don't really think about it in the middle of doing it.
Thank you ... Now it make sense

That was awesome stingy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🔥🔥
I'm practicing this week....you have determined for me with simple explanation 😂
Awesome!!!! Huge points made stingy thank you for this!!

Well done! Very informative! Thanks for the advice!
Thanks! That totally helped. Josh B. tried to explain it sometime ago but it was not as helpful at detailing what the quad is doing.
you really know your stuff sir
Awesome video!! Thanks, gonna finally work on these trippy spins that these kids love so much. Lol
I love it. What a great series concept. Break it down. Cue the MC Hammer music.
I always enjoy your content dude.
Awesome. Thanks for that 🙂
Considering you have just back from long trip, next video - all about how did you travel with your drones ;-) greetings from Poland bro!

Thank you Stingy
Thanks for checking it out.
Maybe good explanation is:
flying around - roll left and a little pitch back
orbit - pitch forward and a little roll left
backward flying - roll right and a little pitch forward
Trippy spin - pitch back and a little roll right
It is clearly visible in second showing, each time roll/pitch stick rotated by 90 degrees
I find that the inputs on roll and yaw are greater I really don't think much about my pitch in these manuevers.
Thank you for detail explanation

I like the way you break down tricks and maneuvers. But isnt orbiting consist of the opposite yaw direction of the bank direction?
In angle mode yes, in rate mode no.

I run mine at 30 degrees. If you are loosing altitude try giving it more throttle.
I love FPV but I can't make it happen, I can only see their action
How many dji actions do you need to get around the battery life?

Are you flying elrs on the mambo?
Yes
What happened to stinger swarm and nurk everyone from the original fpv channels are disappearing
The trippy is so confusing!
I’m guessing the higher the camera angle the easier the trippy spin?
Not necessarily. The mattystunz theory has been debunked a few years ago. Not many if any pilots fly at 60+ deg anymore except racers but that’s obvious due to the speed they fly
Now in a trippy spin the higher the tilt the less throttle is required in my experience but not necessarily making the trick easier
@@creationlabsinc.189 5 maybe 10 degrees shouldn't have a problem?
You need about 20 degrees on most cameras to properly spot the top of the obstacle. I run 30 and have no problem.
