For people who don’t understand, the title ‘gone days’ sounds like the korean slang ggondae which is a person (usually an older person) who gives lectures about their past and what it was like ‘back in there day’. Example, everyone’s had this happen before, you tell a joke to your parent and it ends up turning into a lecture about how what you said was wrong because of their own past experiences. You could said your parent was being a ggondae at that moment. I hope this helped!

Not really sure about this, but the reason why there is a person that is like a horse is because "말" in korean could mean horse or words at same time. Okay so here’s the run down on the deeper meaning of the song. - Not only is the title “Gone Days” referring to the days wasted by the older generation not taking the younger generation seriously but it is also referring to the ggeondaes (Korean boomers, hopefully I got the romanization of that correct) which Gone Days sounds like the pronunciation of. The song overall is criticizing the current education system and the lyrics are calling out boomers because of their traditional/outdated ways, narrow mindedness, and big expectations which result in many wasted days - Gone Days. In conclusion, Stray Kids have once again proven that they are THE kpop group that not only perfectly represents Gen Z, but they are here to defend fellow Gen Z people and they are here to use their platform in a way that does so.

I had actually not listened to this song yet (still a baby stay) but I saw a video of the kids saying that this song represented Chan’s personality, and coming to it even now I can 100% see that. If I look at these lyrics and imagine just him saying them I feel like they really do embody his perspective on what he and his members create for the world. They respect the seniors that paved the path before them, but they have new and unique ideas and they don’t want to be told that they can’t do them. And even 4 years later that still applies.
