    Just picked mines up today, my ego set up is almost complete. Got the lawn mower, leaf blower, snow blower, and now the hedger. Just need a weed wacker and maybe get the chainsaw and the pole just for fun.

    Thank you for your straightforward and not boring review! A question - if i need to cut taller trees (they looked like the first tree in your video only about 4m higher) which telescope pole should i buy?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад +1

      Hello is you need something taller EGO has their attachment series which you can add a hedge trimmer to it and have a longer reach model mht2001 kit but I dont think it will reach an extra 4 meters higher. You would need a pole pruner which I use the Fiskars 16Ft to trim the tall trees. Here is the link for the Fiskars amzn.to/3EeMi62 on Amazon or Homedepot homedepot.sjv.io/Vy7y6O. thank you

    Did you use a different battery in each test? The battery in the HT2601 weighed 2.97 pounds and with the older model, the battery weighed 2.1 pounds in your measurements? Just curious since the 9-pound weight of the 2601 model would give the arms a good workout. I'm trying to decide on an EGO trimmer but their weight could make this trimmer fatiguing to use.
    Otherwise, one of the best reviews on this I've seen. Thanks.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  8 месяцев назад

      Hello I just checked both batteries and the one that comes on the 2601 is 2 lbs 14.2oz and the one on the other is 2 lbs 14 oz so battery is not much difference to make it or brake it. The units are different in weight but they both do well. If weight is an issue then go with the lighter one. If you want a light unit the Dewalt one is super light a one hand can be used. Thanks

    is it heavy?? I saw it at lowe's and it seems huge. I couldn't carry it bc it was locked down. I really want it but it seems so big.

    Thank you for the review. Do you know how this trimmer differs from the HT2501 which is about $100 more? Thanks!!

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад +1

      Hello the HT2501 has a 1.25 inch cut vs 1.2 inch on the HT2601. It is 25 inch long vs 26 on the HT2601 but its more towards a commercial quality with dual speed and alloy motor cover for better heat dissipation. It has serviceable blades also, I love my HT2601 its perfect for my needs. I did see the HT2501 prior to buying mine but the price difference didn't make sense for my application. Thank you

    Definitely have a question versus the 2501 other than the two different speeds and a little bit lower RPM everyone was recommending the 2501 over this is it worth it for the difference in money which is over $100 plus

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  8 месяцев назад

      Hello I love my 2601 I thought about getting the 2501 but it was $150 more back when I got It over the 2601. To me the main difference is the cut size which is not much 2601 is 1.2 in vs 1.25 cut for the 2501. Also the blade on the 2601 is 26 in vs 25 on the 2501. I think runtime on the 2601 is a bit more and the 2501 has 2 speeds but 2601 only one. Even thought the 2601 has faster rpm I think sometimes is better to have the option on the slower speed for the type of hedges you are trying to cut. Sometimes its too fast for the thicker stuff. Now at Lowes I think its on sale for 199.00 for the 2601. The 2501 looks more like a commercial type of tools with the alloy casing for the transmission. If you can spare the difference I would go for the 2501. I cant find the weight of the 2501 so not sure if its heavier. Thanks

    Just bought one and I noticed the rotating handle has a tiny bit of play in it when locked into position. Is this normal and does yours have it?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад +1

      Hello yes mine has a very small play on the handle when locked on any of the positions. When you are cutting you dont even know about it. I didnt even feel that until you pointed it out. Love this unit with the extra length on the blade and the adjustable handle. If you used it let me know your thoughts. Thank you

      @Extreme DIY Thanks. I just wanted to make sure this was a normal thing and not a defect. As you said, you don't even notice it while using it. This is without a doubt the best hedge trimmer I have ever owned.

    HT2600E and HT 2400E, do they have the same power?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад

      Hello not sure about the power specs on these but the 2600 has 3400 strokes per minute vs the 2400 has 3000. Both are great machines but if I had to pic I will stay with the 2600. I really like the 2600 has more cutting width and length plus the rotating handle. Hope this helps

    If I already have the 2410 do I need to upgrade to this unit if just using around the house just a few times a year?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад +1

      Hello if you have the 2410 no you dont need to upgrade. It does a fantastic job also and its a bit lighter. I have a wrist issue so I thought it would be fun to get it and do a review. I still have the 2410 just in case my son wants to help me out. I also love carbon fiber so it looks cool to me. I have been using the 2410 for over a year and works great. Just like lawn mower I have 5 of them waiting for reviews and want to keep them all. Thanks
