I think your pained longing for the vocals to come back was the intended response. It's the musical incarnation of that same pain and longing that Vessel feels as he stops kidding himself and comes to terms with the reality that he can't be with this person 😢. As a composer myself I love that shit...when music so perfectly reflects the emotional intent 😍.
There is no band in the world more underrated and under appreciated than Sleep Token

Huge growth! So excited for the future!
The wall of sound at the end was the perfect peak for an amazing track. First time I heard it, I finished it once , instantly played it again 3 or 4 times before moving on in the album. But I'm a sucker for walls like that.

You know a reaction channel is legit when they give honest criticism -- This is one of my favorite songs on the album because of that insane chorus with the rising melody, and still I SO badly wanted to hear that vocal line come back around during the latter half with all the energy from the instruments going.

Like one of your other commenters mentioned, that ache you want for those vocals was absolutely intended. They wanted to leave you absolutely begging for it to match the emotion in the vocals and the lyrics and the song construction.

This song is so underrated. Its been one of my favorite tracks over the last year and a half. Im someone who listens to a lot of metalcore/Deathcore/Death metal but this song just hits different man. Beautiful song.
