I lived in the UK for years. I don’t see the pressure except for those who decide to pressure themselves. You can be successfully quiet in the UK if you move within the right circles, live outside London, stay away from shallow Nigerians, and have a plan/goal/focus for the future.
UK is hard if you dont have a high paying job . A lot of people are making money in the UK. You just need the right qualifications in a lucrative field.
International school Ibadan was just different and like DF said their was no school like it. When i look back and compare ISI to some of the cool schools in the States and England, they really don't measure up in terms of swag. If you know you know.

DF, 96 there was no admission because i bought the 95 jamb form to be admitted 96 but Abacha closed university in 96 and we who brought the 95 jamb form were not admitted 96 into the university but got admitted 97. I was in UI 100L when Temitope beside De-Morris was shot down because of the the Havana saga fight and i thanked God men no go down in the saga shaaa; and it's still in 97 when a 100L female student was killed behind ZLT by plugging hot boiling ring into her genital when trying to attend chemistry (CHE-157) lecture early in the morning.
Chemistry lab attendants were very strict! Chai, from 195 practicals of doom to 127, 177, and the deadly 157. The overcrowding of 100-level students cos I studied Agric, and the lecture room couldn't accommodate all with useless demands for attendance. But alas, only Omolayo was avlble to transfer to Medicine from Microbiology or so that same year you described.
Nothing is odd when it comes to self-care, though. You're better off doing perfume b4 bed than impressing those who don't know your home. The highest honour next to your soul/mind is how you treat your BODY (temple/health), not your material stuff like car, house, or garden. That's a life hack right there. #SkinWin
Doctors do not earn money like that in the UK, based on the business module of the NHS. With £5, you can buy loaf of bread, pack of dozen eggs and baked beans. 😂 UK does not have that lifestyle that I was aware of and I was there for 27yrs till I moved 12 yrs ago to another part of the world. Guess, depends on whom you mix with.

A good perfume would have the best of the 3, I am not saying you shouldn't follow your nose, but there is no way a perfume of 14 dollars could be better than a perfume of 30 dollars not to talk of 50, 100 or a thousand dollar!
