@@garbinsgarage i put the springs from BBR for the 230 in mine. It helped out, but still bottoms out on bigger jumps. After fixing the front i could immediatly sense how soft the rear was. Going to think about doing what you have done here.
Blake Hall yeah I was going to go the bbr route but then my shock seals just blew out and I decided he get a whole new shock. It’s much stiffer then the bbr spring and has actual adjustments
@@frankdesbiens9376 i never did the rear spring. I upgraded my bike to a yz 250fx. My son rides the 230. @155 lbs the rear end handles him fine. The front end needed it either way. I do have an ongoing issue with seals blowing out/leaking fluid on the front forks over time. But after servicing they do well for awhile. Good luck👍
The word is "damping", not " dampening". To damp is to induce friction, like oil in a shock absorber. To dampen is to make moist. Your shock absorber is a damper. Your garden hose is a dampener. Want to adjust the dampening on your bike? Spray it with the hose.
Good tip on the forks, What is the wall thickness of the PVC pipe?
3/4 in diameter and I think about 1/8 inch wall thickness
did you use the pvc in both forks or only one?
aRandomGuy Marra both
Do you still have the stock? I need one for my crf150f
arturo munoz it was blown up. I made a decoration with it
Can you also use a 1984 XL350r shock for a 04 crf230f?
Jon Nuwer I’m pretty sure. As long as it’s the same shock from the Xr
You can, I would go for the xr shock though, as the xl shock is softer
Nice 👍🏼. How’s the ride been post install?
HARD ENDURO been great, it’s definitely better then the front forks but all is good

@@blakehall2256 just got my BBR front and back suspension kit for my CRF250F. did you change both or only front springs on your 230?

how big are the shocks how many inches my rear shock is messed up and i cant find what size it is
I believe it was around 13 inches. It was exactly the same as the factory shock

Thanks bud I appreciate it. The word I was looks for was compression and rebound adjustment.
Just so you know , the word is DAMPING . Not Dampening .
