The fact that I fell asleep during the story and then woke up just in time to hear the ending, it was a trip let me tell you-
I've had an avid obsession with Greek Mythology ever since childhood and I allways liked to imagine the Hades was my father. Also could we please please have a part 2 at some point🥺? This was beutiful and I would love to see the story unfolding and the relationship between Hades and the listener growing

Pandora is a great choice, myth aside the name means All Gifted (I think) and considering our story, I think it's a great choice!
Plus, with how Pandora got her name. She was given a gift from every god (that existed at the time). So maybe that has a part in the story. It would be so cool if it were.

i headcanon that the listeners name in their debut series was Mim, referencing the god Mimir, who likely had a larger part in norse mythology than we have surviving records of. There's one story where someone killed Mimir and I think Odin kept his head for the knowledge it could give? The root of the name also appears in a lot of places in mythology, including the well of Mimir and Hodmimis, the tree that Lif and Lifthrasir would hide inside of during ragnarok, but its unknown whether the god we know of called Mimir had any connection to these
speaking of names and meanings, Pandora means Gift to All, and interestingly, the mythical Pandora was married to the brother of Prometheus. Prometheus had told his brother not to trust any gift from Zeus, but Epimetheus represented afterthought, aka hindsight, and did not heed that warning. Obviously there's some narrative intent to giving us a name associated with tragedy
In norse mythology, Ymir was the predecessor of the gods as well as basically the first conscious being i think? I don't recognize the names of his children, but Ginnungagap was the entirety of existence, similar to the deity Chaos in Greek mythology, but not a conscious being. The word means either "gaping abyss" or "yawning void," depending on how you choose to interpret it. So that's interesting

Well, there's a lot to it, but ultimately I make sure it's fun, not just for the viewer, but for me. After that, get some simpable artwork, some good sfx and bam! lol

Okey so I'm not an expert on Greek mythology and this is mostly based on very very light level research I did, so please feel free to add anything or correct me if I'm wrong.
So in mythology, Pandora was the first human women originally described by Hesiod as a "beautiful evil", but later on was described as an innocent women. The Gods all gave her unique gifts, but Zeus gave her a box saying "This is my gift to you. Don't ever open it". Pandoras curiosity got the best of her and she opened the box, releasing evil onto humanity.
The series has alot of parallels with the mythology, but obviously has differences (like how Prometheus in the myths was punished by the gods for giving fire to humans, and Odyn gave fire to the Fengrels and was punished by... the consequences).
At some point, Hades' family might give us gifts, one of which (might) be Pandoras box, which (might) be given by Zeus. We don't know enough about Hades' family to say what they are like for sure, except that 1) Hades gets along with Zeus and Poseidon and 2) Poseidons teaching approach is "different" to Hades. Which we will understand sooner than Hades likes, which tells me he may be strict or ridiculous (Also, the internet tells me he was "casually cruel").
Idk why or even IF Zeus gives us the box. Maybe as a test? A mistake? Cruelty? Maybe SHE doesn't give us the box, maybe its someone else? Maybe that figure? Maybe we aren't given a box at all! Maybe the story goes in a different direction! Maybe it goes in reverse and we store something in Pandoras box instead!
): Persephone... I can't quite tell if she is dead, since Hades says that she is "away", and that there is a chance she and us will meet, though slim _-Foreshadowing is a narrative device in which a storyteller gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the--_ Plus, he still talks to her through letters, which _could_ be more akin to how sometimes people say they are talking to their dead loved ones but its not literal and moreso a coping mechanism, BUT maybe he is actually sending her letters. Maybe she is dead, but there is an afterlife of sorts, and Hades is trying to get her back? Judging by the figure Hades talks to, I'm think that might be death?
Id also like to say, the title says that we are in the Underworld, but Hades doesn't say anything about being in an underworld, nor is there an indication that we are in such a place, which confuses me... I dont have anything to say on it except that maybe where we are isn't the underworld... yet?
Thats all the speculation I can do. I am not good at analysing or theorising, but I tried my best!
Very very late edit: I’m dumb Persephone isn’t dead she’s with her mother. I didn’t research her much and got confused with Hades’ phrasing so assumed she was dead.
Oh yeah, with Persephone. Her story is basically that Hades asked Zeus if he could marry her, takes her to the underworld, gives her 6 seeds of a pomegranate, and every year, she switches from being on the surface to being in the underworld for 6 months.
So it might just be cus she's up with her mom, Demeter, and not with Hades at the moment.
@@ryn2612 ooo possibly. But if that’s the case, the way Hades kind of phrases it confuses me… if she’s only there for 6 months, why did he say the chances of us meeting where low? Unless it’s for an extended period of time in this story.
