In my experience it's typically a racial things..but I'm unsure if it's done consciously or subconsciously. Recently I experienced it at work. There was an Arabic woman and this lady (white) kept mispronouncing the Arabic woman's name for literally 3 weeks. And the Arabic woman was the only person whose name was mispronounced by the white lady for this long. Not only that, but she spent a lot of time around the Arabic woman and therefore should've definitely picked up on how to say her name properly. The white lady, to me, came off as a more conservative woman. I never asked. But she was a country woman in personality, how she dressed, etc.

I don’t know if she is mispronouncing her name because of Kamala’s race or if she is mispronouncing it to try to minimize Kamala as a candidate or legitimate person, period.
In my experience it's typically a racial things..but I'm unsure if it's done consciously or subconsciously. Recently I experienced it at work. There was an Arabic woman and this lady (white) kept mispronouncing the Arabic woman's name for literally 3 weeks. And the Arabic woman was the only person whose name was mispronounced by the white lady for this long. Not only that, but she spent a lot of time around the Arabic woman and therefore should've definitely picked up on how to say her name properly.
The white lady, to me, came off as a more conservative woman. I never asked. But she was a country woman in personality, how she dressed, etc.
We should call Nancy Naaccee and see if she's happy with that pronunciation
The mispronouncing of Kamala's name says a lot about the GOP. As to Cenk's point regarding this topic, he is again wrong. His argument might be more reasonable if her name was hard to pronounce, but it is not.
