As a kid I lived on Wilshire and Raymond ave. In Fullerton, CA. I would ride my bike down to The Fender factory at 500 Raymond ave.
I used to look into the open factory doors and watch the workers building guitars. I think it is SO COOL that G&L is on Fender ave. I rode my motorcycle to the factory, caught the workers on their lunch break. Let them know that I switched from Fender brand guitars to G&L guitars. Told them I felt that the standard G&L’s were on par with custom shop Fenders. They liked that. The conversation switched to my BMW motorcycle by the time Dave came out to join the conversation. We all had a great time talking motorcycles.
The crew at G&L are a great bunch.
That's an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing.
Glad G&L is making content showing off their chops. Great guitar and great company!
The best Leo ever made and the best I've ever played 👍🏻
ASAT specials are incredible guitars.
Thank you for showing us the excellent instruments.
I have a G&L Tribute ASAT Special in Surf Green. It is the most versatile and best sounding guitar that I have. The Jumbo MFDs are unreal. There is absolutely nothing else like them. You can play anything and everything with these guitars.
G&L makes great guitars. I love my legacies and ASAT.
I was lucky to stumble upon G&L early in my guitar journey, 25 years later and I still believe they are the best american made guitars out there and I own many. Keep it up👍
As a new guitarist who’s done hours of research, G&L has my attention. One day I’ll be a proud owner!
G&L is awesome
Way cool. Good to see the new website and all, go G&L!
Keep this videographer!!! This video is great!
2:40. Leo was so outlaw - he could even break laws of physics. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love mine. Had wanted one for a long time. Always enjoyed hearing John Jorgensen play his.
Those jumbo MFD pick ups are killer with fuzz!
I love my ASAT Special.
I have both the ASAT and sc-2. G&L is all I play now.
Mine just sings - and plays like a dream.
I call this the " ELECTRO-CASTER " 🇺🇸
I play asat special as well as an asat bass my go to instruments.
Both guitar and bass ASATs. Nice!
I do love a G&l but they're a pain when it comes to replacement parts plus they are never in stock. If you want one, you have to wait months and they are heavy as hell.
❤ my strat . I was looking for a G&L guitars but the one dealer in the area, stopped carrying G&L guitars because they are made to order ❗ So I have hesitation with buying a guitar that I can't hold first ‼️ And I can't order directly from the factory. Fender is a great guitar BUT the company got too much like a corporation ❗ This is one of the reasons I was looking at G&L .
Most of our dealers order instruments for their stock as well as taking Build To Order instruments for customers. Who is your local dealer? Maybe we can turn that around. Thanks!
@@GL_Guitarshey do you do build to order or custom shop to send product out of the US ? I'm based in the EU but would be down to order!
@@GL_Guitars Alto's Music in Wappinger Falls NY and Middletown NY.
I was lucky to find a G&L FULLERTON ASAT CLASSIC at Jake's Main Street Music Store in Beacon NY , I believe that they got it because Imperial Music in New Paltz NY closed their mortar store.
I'm working on my stove and I would definitely carry G&L ( a better built guitar than fender and I love fender)
Guys congrats on the new channel, happy to see that. any plans on refreshing the tribute line? especially a L-1000 tribute bass..... please..?
I had a Special about 20 years ago. Was a good playing and sounding guitar. I kept it about 4 years and sold it cause it was kinda heavy. Wished several time thru the years since then that I had kept it.
And now this makes me want an SC-2. Guess it’s time for a reissue?
G&L always made great guitars, and continues to do so, but the only problem is there’s no authorized dealer in my city currently. They should sell directly from the factory to the customer, although, I’m not sure if they already do that. Let me know please. Thanks !
i have an early 90’s comanche 6
Please make one with 3 pickups.
If you are talking about the ASAT, they DO make a
Three pick up model. It’s called the ASAT Classic S. It is a GREAT VERSATILE GUITAR! Bridge MAF neck MAF ASAT pick ups with a S-500 pick up in the middle and a five way Legacy pick up switch. Just get one, you WANT this guitar!!!
I have one from their first run of the 3 pick up configuration. An amazing guitar! The volume pull pot gives access to the bridge and neck combo, as well as all pickups at the same time-something a Strat doesn’t do.
What does the substantial boss do? The boss part of the bridge plate is what part, because I never heard of the bridge plate having a boss
I wish all Fenders had the bullet truss-rod and micro-tilt neck adjustment.
And Teles had the controls reversed..
Subbed!
They need to bring back the Climax hsh
Hello, could you tell if the pickups are screwed to the body or to the Pick guard? Thank you in advance.
Mounted to the body.
@@GL_Guitars so this means that you can't change the height? The routing has already the correct dimensions per we? Does this make sense? Thanks
Very nice as usual. Price on these (usa) is still quite unreasonable, however, for what they actually are worth if you break it all down. I’d love one in my working collection, but…
Much better priced compared to all the other major builders. Their tribute models are killer too! Also, check the used market. You’d be surprised at how reasonable the prices are.
Yes, I always try used first. There are some great deals on Reverb and eBay.
Go buy a factory-trashed Fender Custom Shop😂
No matter what fender does it still won't be as good as a Les Paul fender is a joke
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Show me all the Fender headstock repair videos.
Dear Sirs, I have to say that the innovation and design of your guitars is nothing less than fantastic. As a guitar 🎸 player l am knocked out by all your Resonance and pickup 🛻 creations. You're out of this world for pioneering design. But you must address the so called Elephant 🐘 in the room,if you want to maximise your fan base and sales. You have got to drop that hideous headstock design and give your customers a reason to get on your team for future sales.Sorry if you think 🤔 it's not so. All the very best to your successful future. I may even buy one myself. Best regards 😺. John.
Check out our CLF Research S•500 which has the original 1980 G&L headstock.
@@GL_Guitars That's far 🙂 nicer the treble clef design. Hope you don't mind me saying but it still needs a bit of tweaking to be a serious market contender. You need to be in the ring to fight , like the rest of all your competitors besides having products that satisfy a few dedicated vintage type fans . Why not try to break into other markets , IE modern Rock 🪨 or Metal. Anyway 😉 Best wishes for the future you need an edge to survive in this modern world 🌍 when there is so much competition. I know that 🦁 Leo was the heart ❤️ and soul. If you need any help contact me 🙂. Very best regards 😸. John.
I don't love G&L headstocks but I do love the guitars enough to not let it bother me. That being said, I'd love to see the "sickle" headstock become an option, especially reversed. Then again, I'd lose my mind knowing that my 9 USA G&L's didn't have them. lol
